Great how to video. You could put a vent tube on the water bottle for dirt bikes. It's a one way breather valve (ball check valve) that would allow air in but keep the pesticide from leaking out.
Good job! My next door neighbor uses a pest control service. About once a month, the pest guy shows up in a pick up truck wearing a rig like yours. He walks around the house with that fogger for around five minutes and then he leaves. $49.95! Ten houses later... that rig is paid for. He may be making more money than an Airline Captain with thousands of flight time hours and training. I'm Jealous!
Yeh it does. I can spray my eaves of my house but when you turn it up to the “sky” you only get a few seconds before it stops flowing. I just point it back lower and then back to the “sky” again.
Dude I think that is a GREAT idea, and it looks like you are putting out MORE mist that those units just made for such, been contemplating getting a backpack blower but no more than I would use one I was putting off since my grass cutting gets 99% of the fallen leaves after 2nd cutting, BUT, now I may have to reconsider
Thanks. You won’t regret it if the mosquitoes are as bad where you live as they are where I do. I plan to spray for the first time of the season this weekend.
I don’t have a large yard. I have a hand held gas blower. Could a simple L fitting be installed in the end of my blower in place of the venture defuser? Im wondering if a 1/4 hose would simply work. What does the inside of the defuser/valve look like? Does it have a nipple that extends into the air stream? And I think you said you run it on a 3? I guess I could always buy the defuser and adapt it to fit like you did. But I think the proper sized fitting simply extending into the air nozzle should work at least in theory.
That might work. The diffuser nozzle lets the product kind of drain around the rings on it so the the air turns it into a mist. I made one with a handheld blower and backpack bug sprayer before this one. That worked just not quite as well as this one does.
How did you get the fitting to screw into the plastic jug valve fitting. I cut off the valve part but can't get the brass fitting to thread into the plastic
It’s working on gravity. Once the handle is at or above level in tank it will quit feeding. What I do is get it going and just keep bringing the nozzle back down and then raising it up again.
I spray my bushes and under my trees for mosquitoes. Every couple sprays I do my eaves and entire yard to keep spiders out of my eves and ants etc out of my yard.
Just curios how many gallons you go through with he setting at 3. I have 1 acre and went through 3 tanks (1.5 - 2 gal per tank). Do you always keep it at 3?
Awesome. What is the diameter of the Stihl attachment that you got? And what is the diameter of the end tube you attached it to on your blower? I want to be sure the stihl sr450 part will fit on the end of my Ego blower before ordering up the pieces.
My end tube from my blower is roughly 2 1/2 inches. My friend I work with ordered the part from the sr200 blower and it was a better fit and he has the same blower as me. Hope this helps.
what was the dimension of your nozzle compared to the SR200 nozzle. looking to do the same thing but didn't hear the dimension. its not easily listed anywhere online. thanks in advance if your able to measure. Liked the vid! Good retrofit.
You just saved me a ton of money! I have the 350Bt but I'm sure the tube size is the same. You mentioned your buddy purchased the mister from the lower model machine and it fit better. Do you happen to know the ID of both misters? How much acreage will the 2.5 gallons cover?
Any stihl dealer can order parts which would be your best bet. That is the best option. We used southern states to get ours. Sr200 is the model he used and I used sr450
I asked him what part number he used and what you have is it for everything but the end part. He thinks this is the part number for the end piece. 4203 708 6700. I spray about an acre with about 1.5 gallons. Just depends how heavy you want to put it down. It’s best to do it in the morning or evening and obviously when it isn’t gonna rain for a couple days. Hope this helps.
@@savemoneydiy87 I wasnt able to find any parts for the SR 200 so I ordered all parts for the SR 450. instead of drilling a hole in the lid, i plan to run a hand pump like you would see on a blood pressure tester to a basket ball pump needle pressed through the lid. I'll be able to operate the bulb with my left hand and put a little pressure to the bottle so i can spray above my head where gravity feed won't work. The mosquito sniper does not blow mist nor fog. It only seems to blow liquid. This is much better as it will blow the fog further, and can reach a lot higher into the air to reach up into trees.
@@savemoneydiy87 Its very similar to what you made expect uses brand name tank sprayers. Nice thing about it is it’s uses the pressurized tanks to spray straight up into high places.
@@savemoneydiy87 Hhhmm, can you do a short video on the nozzle? That would be the next upgrade video since that plastic nozzle currently goes for $37 on eBay.

@@billherb3086 sorry for the late reply, I just saw this now. I was about to send you the ebay link for the nozzle I saw and you are right, it has increased from $37 to $236! That is ridiculous. Even more ridiculous is it is not needed at all! I ended up just using a $7 pump sprayer from walmart and it works great. Its basically a DIY "mosquito sniper" system. I just cut the wand of the sprayer between the tip and the trigger and connected a 3ft length of tubing between both ends. The wand tip is clamped to the blower so that it sprays right where the air exits the blower. Works great! No special gadgets needed. Good luck!
Great how to video. You could put a vent tube on the water bottle for dirt bikes. It's a one way breather valve (ball check valve) that would allow air in but keep the pesticide from leaking out.
Thanks. That’s not a bad idea. The bottle cap works well enough but if I ever redo it I may look into that.
I ordered a tomahawk spray blower and I saw this video. I just canceled the order. Thank you for the idea. I knew there had to be a simpler way.
Glad I could help

Yep. I see my neighbors do the same thing. If you ask the guys what chemical they are using it’s the same as in my video.
Thank you Sir. Very much appreciated and fine simple engineering for us here in the channel. Keep it coming.
Not a problem. It really does work great and is a cheap addition.
Excellent video. Please post parts list.
Thanks. It’s in the description.
Any update on the backpack fogger? Maybe after the spring time an update? Most excellent of engineering.

Just had to kinda force it. Once it starts the brass fitting will cut its own threads.
