Man the ending stretch of this game was just perfect. The intensity and pressure and trying to get through with everyone alive, the feeling of teamwork and strategy, the action, the music.. just perfect.
As a huge movie and game fan, I have seen a lot of cutscenes and a lot of films. Proclaiming something from a video game the most finely crafted piece of cinematic art is a bit stunning. I completely agree. Mass Effect 2 is one of the single things I consider truly perfect.
That whole scene, starting at rising from the rubble with your squadmates to just escaping from the explosion in the Normandy, is the most finely crafted piece of cinematic art I have ever witnessed.
Unbelievable how much emotional is this track. If I close my eyes I can feel the adrenaline of that suicide mission... ME in not a game, is a life experience.
I want the remake for KOTOR and also if they remake KOTOR 2 to make the final mission the Starforge and Malachor to have high risk to group and it can play out in multiple ways that are good, ok, bad, or tragic because of how you played through the game ME2 did.
Human. You have changed..........nothing. Your species has the attention of those infinitely your greater. That which you know as reapers are your salvation through destruction. We WILL find another way. I truly believe this is the best moment in all of videogaming.
Soundtracks have really taken a nosedive down in quality with recent games. They use to spend good money on great artists that made these iconic tracks that people love but now they just get these mediocre theme soundtracks that aren't terrible they aren't memorable either. Assassins Creed 2, Modern Warfare 2, and Mass Effect 2 all had amazing soundtracks where as Infinite Warfare, Mass Effect Andromeda, and AC Syndicate have just okayish themed soundtracks that aren't really worth remembering.
Don't forget Mass Effect 3's soundtrack. It literally left me speechless, especially the opening "Leaving Earth" scene. To me, it will forever remain one of the best moments in video game history. Period.
When this music kicked in on the final stretch to get to the last boss, i felt absolutely unstoppable. Was probably the first time in the entire game i changed the difficulty to Insanity... not to mention i got through it completely untouched. My shields never went down, my squadmates never fell, and every collector died in 1 shot (level 5 damage Widow + Warp rounds = the collectors' worst nightmare)
@Crfootball20 My belief was that the Catalyst (the "kid") looked into Shepards mind, and chose an appearance shepard would most likely listen to instead of attack, as that child had come to represent, in Shepards mind, every life he couldn't save. As well, after the credits, you're put back into the game before your assualt on the Cerberus base, effectively the last point in the story that you still have the option to explore the Galaxy. Any DLC mission will have to take place before this point.
I played over 20h in ME:Andromeda - don't remember a shit of soundtrack - a second of the soundtrack from 1 or 2 or 3 ME is enough to remember the thrill, of emotions, of pressure on the crew for the task there're given... EA please make Mass Effect grat again not some shitty Andromeda, pretty please.
Fuck ! your post sent shivers to my spine. I remember my time too at the suicide mission while this theme played before the last boss. i felt invisible too. Fuck! Best videogame of all time moment ever propably. How can you beat that?
true true. i also think the reason why the ending (even in the extended cut is bad) is that thet wanted to explain why the reapers do what they do and the thing is that the answer was just bad, it and ruined the menace of the reapers. it would have been better if they left it ambiguous.
its not that people hate the ending because it the ending to mass effect. people hated it because as an ending it was indeed flawed. and now the extended cut fixed it
me3 is brilliant in every way, just that most people hated the ending, simply because it is an ending. the fact that there most loved game series has come to an end upsets people
In the ME 3 you can reconcile quarians and geth, but in the end Catalyst tells you that main problem is the rise of the machines. But you made this peace thanks to Legion and Tali some days ago And players compared all types of ending, if you will be with a minimum of resources, maximum, and between them. From worst to the best: Destruction: fire wawe, that destroy everything that in it's way, the catastrophic damage, and almost without destructions. Control: medium and best warrants Synthesis: only best warrant But: the synthesis was suggested by Saren, the control - by the Illusive Man. And they were indoctrinated.
the "closure DLC" won't change the ending. That's what needs to happen, but Bioware is so set on maintaining their "artisitc vision", and they're too proud to admit they ran out of time, and threw something together at the eleventh hour. If your EMS score was low enough, the only option you can have is to destroy the Reapers. That wouldn't make sense for the Reapers to basically tell you to destroy them. In short, the indoctrination theory is a nice form of denial, but I don't believe it.
no game made me play it more then 1 time... just saying mass effect trilogy is epic and I try now to to get every paragon possible after that every renegade possible
fair enough :) with the EC i am much more happier with the ending, but ending an epic Trilogy on a picture montage? im sure you can at least understand why some of us are really annoyed with that?
I wished scientists would work harder and a country instead of spending money to fight each other spend all the money on our future in space. I want to go out there before I die at least once..
@Crfootball20 trust me, there are worse things in that game to be pissed about. But they seriously reused 90% or the mass effect 1 and 2 soundtracks, and forgot this song.
It's very similar yes, but they came out at roughly the same time. Mass Effect 2 was released in 2010, which was also the same time Matt Smith became the 11th Doctor (both in January of that year), and I'm not entirely sure if the theme "I Am The Doctor" was actually introduced at the same time as Matt Smith, whereas the song Suicide Mission was of course released with the game. So it's likely that Suicide Mission came first.
I will be buying DA3, it looks very interesting. And, I'm sorry, but I liked the ME3 endings. They did, however, lack closure. Luckily, the EC fixed that. Just my opinion, tho.
Playing ME3,and hearing this music makes me cry - third game is boring and have almost no epic moments or music. ); And that "technological singularity" and short-sightedness of "apex race" is horrible. I wanna true sci-fi dark energy story, and a final talk with Harbinger!
I loved the multiplayer, but I agree, the servers are total ass. Trying to connect is like rolling the dice to see whether or not you can play. If DA3 MP is like that, I will be happy. But, please, better servers.
"I heard this is the best soundtrack in the Citadel"
"You heard wrong. This is the best soundtrack in the whole galaxy"
"I'm Commander Shepard, and this is my favourite theme in the citadel"

A-fucking-men.
yeah)))
A life experience... not just a game.
I can't stop listen this in 2019... Still greatest game of my life.

Best game. Ever. Period.
Mass Effect 2, Starcraft 2, Dead Space, and Halo 3 are the crown jewels of gaming. To me, these four are the greatest games ever made.
As a huge movie and game fan, I have seen a lot of cutscenes and a lot of films. Proclaiming something from a video game the most finely crafted piece of cinematic art is a bit stunning.

It's 2024 and this is still my alarm I wake up too.....gets me ready for my workout
All I can think about it Shepard saying, "This is what I do."
This perfectly encapsulates the feeling of winning against all odds by the skin of your balls with an entire galaxy at stake.
@Crfootball20 that's the best news ive heard since me3 was announced.
I got chills from this part, so awesome
I listen to this while playing XCOM 2's final mission ;)

Mass Effect Trilogy and witcher 3 are my favorite single player games of all time
One game for the series, one giant leap for the soundtracks.

Gameplay was fun, but the story is the best part.

Thanks for uploading. The stupid suicide awareness warning on the other one causes it to be skipped on a playlist
Reminds me of Dr. Who

An epic dream that i share also, but we both know the world will never ever unite until something of mass power or change does something
this song makes u want to do something heroic
@SlowAndSteady2 I just hope that A. he can fit the atmosphere that has been developed, and B. we'll still have some of the techno style from ME.
This sounds so much like Game of Thrones starting at 1:37.
I would argue the exact opposite. I WOULD, but I just got done arguing the ending on another video with multiple people, so I won't again. I liked it.

its a shame Harbinger forgot to talk in ME3 and Reperbieber took center stage and some would argue ruin the trilogy
I do understand the complaints against the ending. I do. I simply have a different opinion.
