2021 Telluride v6 Engine seems to be as good or better than Honda’s, no abnormal oil or coolant consumption. Been very impressed at 56k miles with regular service still runs quiet and effortless across the roads. Engine is louder before it gets to temperature, so give it a bit before you judge sound levels.

Better than Honda's? Are you sure?

It’s nice that this is one of the few cars left where they haven’t gotten rid of the v6. So many cars have four bangers or turbo four bangers now.

"The rear plugs will take some extra effort to get to though." Boy is that ever an understatement! Good overview!

Word of advice - if you change (when you change) your air filter, be sure to check the box in the area under the filter. Rodents like to make nests there (as me how I know).

I like technical stuff. That is very high compression for gasoline. 👍

I watched this to see where the carborator (sp?) is so I can clean my engine. I think that's the part I used to cover before spraying/rinsing the engine cleaning chemical.

Hi Sam.. Similar to the one in your video.. What is the proper coolant from Kia to replenish the low overflow reservoir??

    • @TDTVGarage
      @TDTVGarage  7 месяцев назад +1

What's proper is what the owner's manual recommends.

      Thanks that was pretty vague..
What did you put in this one? Kia has a couple of different pink coolants- The owners manual is general info when it comes to coolant, and does not call one out specifically.
These Tellurides are doing a great job consuming oil and coolant..
Check them regularly is my best advice even between the 7,500 OCI.

What about problem with engine carbon build? This is old school engine. What about noise on highway?

currently own a 2003 toyota 4 runner wife wants a new telluride will it be as reliable in the long run as the 4 runner ? ive heard how unreliable the cdi engines are does s the telluride have the same issues or did they correct this issue ?

Most of the "heard CDI engines are unreliable" notions in the world are internet buzz. They are the norm today on almost all cars, reliable or not.

Coolant is low. The oil filter housing is garbage. Plenty of oring issues. Other than that, keep up maintenance before scheduled and you’ll be fine.

I’m curious if something was missed. I saw your video on Kia’s 2.5L engine & it’s fuel delivery has both direct injection and port injection. I’d assume the Telluride would have the same dual injection. Is it not, or wasn’t explained. I definitely enjoyed the details of the technical aspects.

I was curious to see what powered this thing. I have a Kia-mom who flies past me and other cars 2 times a week in one of these, across double lines, in blind curves, with oncoming cars, while we others maintain 55. I thought it must have some kind of rocket motor.

Kia is NOT what they started out as. They make great cars and these current engines appear to be much better. I’m in belief of such & time will tell with my 2023 Sportage X-Pro. 👍🏾🔥

What about excessive oil consumption problems reported but owners. Tell what Kia says about acceptable oil consumption.
