Those ITV producers must have had incredible patience. Must have felt like every episode takes two weeks just because everyone was falling about laughing all the time.

I knew Liz Dawn,we drank together in the upstairs bar of the Rembrandt in Manchester. She was wild,funny and so lovable. She loved her gay friends. One day we were leaving the Rembrandt together and a guy shouted ‘queer’ at me. She went over and knocked ten bells of shit out of him. I loved you Lizzie R.I.P my sweet friend❤️🌈
I remember reading an interview where she said she adored her gay fans. Liz always seemed like an awesome lady.
What an awesome story. Liz Dawn always came across a super lady who wouldn’t be changed by her success at all. I was sad when she passed. What a wonderful memory to have of her. Her beating ten bells out of a homophobe. Love it.

Yes, it is sad to see her especially on something as hilarious as this. She was superb on the telly and i understand she was a genuinely nice person, which at the top of broadcasting and entertainment, can be something of a rarity.
UncleSpicey its easier to see famous people who have passed when you know they died peacefully but the way she died it’s so hard to see her. Apparently she was a really good person as well.

I never used to be a fan of Paul o grady.. and stopped watching bb after the brilliant les dawson, but this is brillisnt,and has changed my mind about Paul. he is a brilliant,quick witted entertainer, who comes from the yesteryear entertainers
can't stop laughing. Lily needs to come back from the convent haha if people watch paul o'grady they'll get that. my scouts were shocked when i said i watched this in the 90's haha this was and still is entertainment. BRING OUR LILY BACK

Other than Les Dawson,Lily was absolutely brilliant as Host of Blankety Blank.I imagine the studio audience needed 2 days off,one to sit through the actual filming & the other to get over it. And how poignant to see Jill Dando on an episode featuring the appeal for medical aid to Kosovo considering that one theory about who murdered her was that it was an assassin on the orders of Milosovic after the bombing of a tv station in Belgrade.
There is a theory that Dando was going to reveal what was going on in the BBC, in regard to the Jimmy Savile's existing there, which would have revealed some high profile individuals in authority. Jimmy died jus at the right time, just before being arrested.

Watching Norman Pace lose his shit was hilarious! I do wish Paul would bring Lily back but I understand why he doesn’t want to - too many pathetic people get so wound up and would attack his humour. It’s sad that we live in a time where even humour is attacked by folk who have nothing better to do with their time, especially as Paul has done so much good for charity.

Watching this in 2024 when humour is so much less acceptable than when it was in 1998. Am from a Scouse family and it really makes me yearn for a time when we could all have a good laugh together. Not trying to be political - just thinking of a time when it really didn’t matter and everyone could have a right good laugh without the worry of causing offence 😔. If it weren’t for politics, we’d have a wonderful United Kingdom 🤗
