    1. Take a bucket
    2. Fill bucket with sand
    3. Punch sand inside the bucket
    4. After you can't punch anymore(you get tired) grip sand with each arm repeatadly.
    5. When you get tired switch to the previous exercise
    6. Do that every day.
You will strenghten your fists and the punch, you will strenghten the forearms and you will have a better and stronger grip.

Jake Mace says a lot of smart things in this video! Very impressed! The iron training is not about forming huge calluses, bleeding, damaging your fists. Iron training is about slowly making your bones and skin thicken to a point where if you hit something hard, you barely feel any pain, your bones do not shatter, your skin does not rip or bruise as well as your fists recover from any injury very quickly. That's why you cannot speed up this process. It needs to be done right, slowly and gradually in order to be successful. I am also glad that he remembered to state that damaging the tree is not good.

But if the the tree 🌲 were to attack first!.. The snake would bite back, and kill the tree 🌳. I have seen a lot as a Forest Ranger at my fire watch tower! But, whenever you see a snake 🐍 and a tree 🌳 battle to the death, you think it could be a trick of light or maybe even one of those strange mushrooms 🍄 you just ate 🤔.

To all of the people who day this doesn't work. Why then does every martial art do this in one way or another? Jack Dempsey punched trees and chewed leather to strengthen his bones. Wing Chun uses the Mook Jow to toughen the knuckles and forearms. Muay Thai artists use banana trees. Silat guys do knuckle push ups on rocks. Southern Hung Gar use the Iron Rings.
I could go on and on.

I had an uncle that, back in the day, made a living as a Prize Fighter during the Depression. A great guy, soft spoken, was probably 155 lbs. back in his prime. Fought behind truck stops and what not.
No gloves. His hands had seen little mercy. When I knew him, he was pretty old, in his 70s but not like people in their 70s today.
Anyway, his knuckles were HUGE. All gnarled up from arthritis. He could hardly move his fingers.
Whenever I saw makiwara boards, I always thought of the old man and his mangled hands.
Did bare knuckle brawling do that to his hands?
    Dunno.
    Something to think about though.

I went to a friends house where my brother picked up a stick and told me that he saw somewhere in a movie or something that people broke sticks across their shins. I turned around for a second and WHAM he hit me, the stick broke, and I hardly felt a thing thanks to the power of conditioning.

  • @monkeyking4158
    @monkeyking4158 6 лет назад +55

I'd done conditioning for a while and all the people saying it doesn't work, you obviously havnt done it or done it properly anyways. You don't just full on hit a wall, unless you're an idiot. You start slow and then move on from that. I've gotten to the point where i feel no pain when i punch trees metal or wood. It took me 2 years to develop the right technique for the training and 3 years to get to this stage. It's worth it in the end, it also strengthens your wrist so it doesnt break when throw a punch. So all you people out there saying it doesn't work, I proved you wrong.

I am 52 and aware that we females lose bone density at a rapid pace after 50. To reduce this loss, I am practicing martial arts. I like your videos on strengthening the bones. I hope that your methods will help as well. However, I think that I could get the benefits from punching and kicking the kicking bag for martial arts training. : )
By the way, I agree that it does take time to be skillful by lots of daily practice of proper form even if have to start out slowly. It has nothing to do with using power or force. So many new learners think that kicking the kicking bag super hard or punch hard to have bruised knuckles or bloodied knuckles equal more skillful but their forms are continue to be terrible.

    Hi Jake !
I'm a Full Contact expert, but i don't understand one thing, because someone say a thing but others say instead the opposite thing.. And so is very weird :
many people who practice martial arts like you say that this training is useful for reinforce bones.. the fact is that my orthopedic doctor said instead that this not is good, because the impacts of the hits cause damage to the tendons and ligaments.. and in fact, when in past i tried to do this, i felt very much pain to the tendons.
When i tried it, i ever done it very very soft, i never strike hard, and i done it only on sand in a bucket, and only for 5 minutes.. after that, i felt much pain and for 2-3 weeks i couldn't go to the gym, because i couldn't lift dumbbells.
Even, i done it ever only leave the arms make them fall on the sand, only with the gravity, without make any force...
All doctors that i met said that this causes damage, even with soft impacts, and that is better go to the gym and maintain more possible a very good physical health..
    Can you answer me?

Bones do get harder with impact, inside your bones look like tiny pillars and the more impact the bone receives the more pillars form increasing the density of the bone.

Just noticed in the forearm reps...
Your non-striking hand is up, tight to the chest, following the movement of the striking arm.
I highly recommend you drop this hand down to the stomach region. Striking arm/hand is up. Striking arm/hand is down. This is called a “cover”. Just a good practice, as in combat, you want to cover the undefended upper-body region. When striking an opponent, their natural body mechanics responding to your blow can cause their limbs to rise up towards you, and your “cover” will be ready to defend. Also, there are times when you strike your opponent and they are striking you simultaneously. Your strike will often act as a block, defending the upper part of the upper body, and your “cover” will be ready to defend the lower part of your upper body.
When throwing strikes to the face, the cover drops even lower, to the waist region to catch any legs or knees that come up as a result of striking the opponent so high on their body.

The body is designed for survival, so it sacrifices bone density to protect the kidneys and urinary tract because the latter are essential to survival. And the most readily available source of acid neutralizer is in the bones. So even though milk contains calcium, it ends up sapping your bones of that crucial mineral.

I've been training Iron Fist for almost 2 years, legit, I fracture my knuckle bone during the training and then it heals after several weeks, it really changes my fist into iron because during all the training I did, my knuckle's bone slowly gets bigger and my whole arm is slowly getting darker than my bodies skin because all the training I did and I have break a brick, you need to be patient to get the iron fist so do it slowly like I did I'm not punching things HARD instead I training all day hitting a tree with normal punches, I do make my knuckles bleed that point because its not a smooth tree I picked, right now I'm training with smooth things so I'll be fine.

On my down time at work I use concrete wall for conditioning for my iron fist, it’s flat and I don’t go all in where it’s bloody knuckles but it’s enough where it’ll get that hurting sensation when my skin gets a little torn then I stop and move on to the next fist. I’ve been doing it for a week and see results on the knuckles. The diet plan sounds great and doing the forearm conditioning sounds great too. You deserve a 👍

How many days does the human body take to heal all the beating done on it's bones ?
Does this form of body's recuperation to deal with damage on it's bones have any negative impact during one's senior life such has arthritis, or loss of sensation ?

I did this for years in the 90's on a timber 12x12 frame in my home.. very enjoyable! I'm not a fighter - to smart for that.. I have no long term damage arthritis. Like I said.. many years I know I wouldn't hurt my hand by punching a persons head.. I WOULD never punch someone's throat unless I feared for my life.. it would kill them.. great vid !

He doesn’t know very much about how muscle builds. He said that when you go to the gym you don’t tear the muscle, you condition it. Muscle is actually built through muscle fibers tearing from strain and regrowing bigger and stronger.

Alacom he meant like not to literally TEAR them apart, there are cases where bodybuilders tear their biceps like literally and need to take a rest for a few months or so, search it on youtube, many videos.

      @alacom205 6 лет назад +1

I've already seen this, but even though he could've meant this ( you have no proof he did ) he should've made the statement more specific because he made it sound as if he didn't know what he was talking about.

He said them as two separate things, because tearing and dislocating obviously are two different things.

brennan cliff, this doesn't mean literally. You merely stretch and stress them out, causing the fibers to get conditioned and heal to become stronger.
