    What this shows me is how far the GOP has dropped, because I agree with a lot of the things the older republican presidents have done. However I still wouldn't be for them, the richest country in the world should look after it's people. And free will means to choose what you want to do with your body. Also people didn't ask to be born, the situation people find themselves in normally isn't their fault. I'd say you'd find very few junkies who went straight for heroin or whatever, I'd say most of them were prescribed medication by professionals, just as a random example of inequality. Because being Irish and American I see the differences between my two countries. The disparity between people is wild. Being Irish means looking out for your fellow countrymen and Americas too selfish and violent to help other Americans in need.

    This is a genuine question to Republicans... (I'm not political as I'm still young and forming my opinions 😅) What should be done instead of Welfare if people are opposed against it? I know quite a few people irl who are too disabled to care for themselves that rely on the program, I worry what would happen if those programs stopped supporting those people? What happens then?

      The Republicans have a problem with Government welfare, when perfectly able bodied people who CAN work CHOSEN not to because of The Wellfare program, they believe it is absolutely fine to use it for those like Disabled Veterens or very poor people who need help getting back in their feet, this comes from The Government highly taxing the wealthy which goes to these programs and we see it as being used improperly if they are just handing it out to those who don't even need it. [I hope this helps as I am still young, too]

      @bobprivate8575 11 месяцев назад +6

      That actually caught my attention in the video as well. In my personal opinion, I think it would be better explained that the Republican position is better described as limited welfare. Limits on duration, or work requirements. Some members of the party may oppose it altogether, but the majority seem to view it as a "necessary evil".
      There's an old proverb "Give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. Teach him to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."
      I look at no-limits welfare as giving a person a fish. You feed them that day, but must do it again the next day. It's much better to provide a path forward, to their own self-reliance. This ties into the pro-business/limited government regulation part of the party platform: a more positive businesses environment means more jobs, which means less people NEED welfare.

    Excellent video.
    Couple recommendations:
    1. Healthcare: if we adopt UHC system, Republicans prefer Bismarck models (Switzerland, Germany, Japan) for the public sector
    2. Also would like to keep a good market mix in healthcare as we’ve never truly tried free market in this area. I see more though!
    3. Military: Lately, it has changed and the Democratic party seems to be the pro war party versus the Republican party. You can see this in the current Ukraine conflict with Democrats want to continue this war and most Republicans don’t want to continue it. Also with Israel and Taiwan, we see the Republican Party wanting more to stay in protect the American borders rather than being involved with wars overseas.

      The counter-point to that being, that most areas that need public transportation would fall under the jurisdiction of the states, or even cities. Why would it be the responsibility of the federal government to build public transportation within a city?
      Interstate highways, that would be federal since they span multiple states. A solid argument can also be made for expansion of interstate rail service. But many forms of public transportation are not a federal issue.

    The definition of marriage for millennia does not change in 10 years, because an extra judge says so. Nor does it change when 500 people say so.
    The fundamental building block of a healthy marriage is sexual diversity . Because men and women are not interchangeable.

      thats exactly what republicans did with no child left behind, they gutted the education system, deeming only the absolute basics necessary. literature, shop class, home ec, etc, are all unnecessary costs that were a waste of money. they cut the amount of literature and history needed to graduate in half. the only thing important was basic science and algebra scores.

    • @IllustratetoEducate
      @IllustratetoEducate  Год назад +17

      I appreciate your feedback, but please note I use very particular verbiage in the video. Both of what you cited above are not said at all in the video. I never say that Republicans are “environmentally friendly”. I say that they have passed laws supporting environmental protection, (EPA and National Park Service) which is completely different than environmentally friendly. Also I never say anything about them being “pro-LGBT”. I said “a majority of Republican voters support same-sex marriage, with public opinion within the party changing substantially on the issue in recent years”. That’s very different. Since they have not had an official platform since 2016 (they skipped 2020 because they decided to just support Trump) they’ve never officially stated anything about it in recent years. The statement in the video is based off of polls taken in the recent years.

    The narrator's analysis of the current Republican party may be accurate when looking at the party as a whole and being inclusive of all factions of the party. However, the loudest voices and the driving forces of the current Republican party largely doesn't want any type of immigration from people who aren't considered Caucasian (proven by the fact of when border policy and immigration is brought up, its only about the southern border, the U.S. has 2 international borders. Never do I hear that the Northern border needs a wall or that people are just walking across it in high droves or in caravans. What is a big difference in population between Canada and Mexico? I think it's quite obvious.), want the poorest of Citizens to pay more in federal taxes when a lot of them make so dam little that they end up getting more back in refunds because they made so little or no income, Healthcare to be tied to jobs so if a person doesn't like their current job or being harassed or mistreated by employers, that person may be stuck because if they leave, their Healthcare is gone too, Cut social welfare programs such as Social security, Medicare and Medicaid that sooo many people have to unfortunately rely on to survive and so many other things that help the most affluent and wealthy while crushing the average citizen and keeping us oppressed. The proof is the legislation (and in many cases the lack of real legislation) that is presented the form of bills.
