    Dear Norman,
this is made for me... slow and mindful or let me say "perfect pace"... thank you so much!
Not that I don't appreciate youth, but I have been looking for a yoga class that is not showcasing a teenager in tights :)

It's amazing how this pack of 3 videos helped me so fast.
Last year I had a episode of extreme pain in my lower back. Went to see my medic, she sent me to the hospital for core stability classes (which were great) but... at some point my core got really strong (as it is now, hard as rock) but something was missing and causing me discomfort and mild pain. After thinking what it could be I got to the conclusion that the only thing I wasn't doing was relaxing and stretching properly the hurt zone (right side lower back).
After some searching I found lots of physiotherapists and then your yoga teaching videos. I only needed the first session to confirm the results... amazing, for a long time I wouldn't feel so good.
I'm a 6'7" (201cm) 32 year old man, weighting 227pounds (103kg)... I love being big and strong to practice sports and work as a chef in a very busy company in London. Knowing what I want and need to do, this was killing me slowly.
Thank you so much for sharing this with us (just bought your DVDs).

I just use a foam mattress on a flat wooden platform base.
No box springs under the mattress, so no sagging.
I hope this answers your question,

There is a lot you can do in Yoga to help you avoid surgery.
If you go onto my SLYoga site shown above under the video, go to the Tags in the far right column, and click on "Back Healing."
Playing football I injured my back in high school when I was 17, and my neck in college at 19. I refused surgery. I was in pain for more than 20 years until I learned how to heal myself with yoga. This is one of the reasons I began teaching yoga.
    I wish you success,
    Namasté,
    Norman
