Easy Southern Style Skillet Sauteed Potatoes
    www.raymackskit...
    Ingredients:
    4 Idaho potatoes
    1 Large sliced onion
    Unsalted butter
    1 tablespoon minced garlic
    Black pepper
    Paprika
    Thyme
    Parsley flakes
    Salt
    2 tablespoon water
    Directions:
    1. Wash, peel, and cut your potatoes in quarters. You can soak them in water to keep them from turning brown.
    2. Cook your potatoes in a cast iron skillet, set the stove temperature to Med-High heat. Add 4 tablespoon of butter to the hot skillet, add the potatoes and onions.
    3. Add all of your ingredients, please use your own judgment for measuring the seasonings. Mix everything together, place a lid or heavy-duty aluminum foil on top of the skillet.
    4. Let it cook for 10-15 mins, flip your potatoes from time to time.
You can adjust the heat if it's to high.
    5. Now, remove the lid covering... add 2 tablespoon of water. Your potatoes are done when they become FORK TENDER.
    Please enjoy.

My parents were from rural MS and I grew up eating this. This one is the fancier version of my Mom's who knew salt & pepper but not much else spice wise. My Grandmother churned her own butter and we had raw milk from the cows and eggs from chickens in the yard (thus the term yard bird lol). All veggies were organic from a garden as big as the house itself. We even had a smokehouse for meats. What a healthy way to grow up in hindsight. Thank you for taking me back "home".

Having just used this skillet for the first time, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxIst1DRMCWM6dgd9VjXMFXlH4HeElE6Mc to batter-fry some macaroni & cheese, I'm absolutely in love with it. The foldaway design means it actually fits in my very small kitchen, but it also makes everything crazy simple to clean. While the instructions say you should not deep fry in this, you can, but do it with your best judgment; in my case the oil didn't even reach the halfway mark. It's hard to see in the pictures, but the skillet itself has a lip in the corner. This allows steam to get out during cooking if the lid is on (so don't try to steam rice in it), and makes pouring out used oil extremely easy.Cleanup was a dream. After detaching the plug and control circuit, the unit is just three separate pieces: The skillet itself, the lid, and the base which may or may not need any cleaning at all (usually just the handles). Compared to a dedicated deep fryer I purchased in the past, where the heating element was suspended in the oil and everything was difficult to clean, the difference was amazing.I'm definitely looking forward to using this for more things in the future.

Yep! DEFINITELY “smothered potatoes” in Louisiana...on the top of the stove in a skillet, smothered with a lid, cooked with water, just like it’s done in this video. Shout out to my parents and ancestors who cooked their arses off. (Sorry that most of you had to cook for and serve a lot of hate-filed racists back then. 😒) Stay strong✊🏽, ADOS! And 👉🏽pamper yourselves with good, quality foods, warm baths, fresh air, sunshine ☀️, clean & refreshing water 💧 to stay hydrated , pleasant walks/hikes, lovely days at the beach 🏖 and good people (people who LOVE you!).

I’ve been binge watching your videos since the early a.m. I do know how to cook, but you are bringing me back to basics that I was raised on. My mom would make these as a side to kielbasa sausage or home fries with a big breakfast. I have two bags of potatoes because they were on sale last week. I’m gonna use some to make your recipe tonight for my dinner. I have all of the ingredients except an onion. I’ll run out for that. Thank you! New sub.

Going to have Rotisserie Chicken sandwiches on whole wheat bun with melted cheese, lettuce & tomatoes and a side dish of broccoli (something green). Thank you for the video. Your videos are great. New Yorkers call this Home Fries. Mainly eaten with breakfast but of course can go with anything.
We use oil to coat the pan. And season the potatoes and onions, bell peppers, etc. (whatever ingredients you like) all in a bowl prior to putting it in the pan or on the grill.
This is a must breakfast item at NYC's Bodegas and restaurants.

I love fried potatoes 🥔. I microwave my potatoes first to partially cook them, it removes the water inside and they crisp up really nice. I use olive oil and crisco butter 🧈 oil then add the potatoes, seasonings 🧂, and onions and chopped garlic 🧄. I fry them until they are crispy. They crisp up without the lid, adding the lid makes them soft like your dish. Your potatoes 🥔 look heavenly with the butter and onions 🧅!!

This is a great looking recipe. I usually use the Red or White potatoes for this. I like to boil the sliced potatoes in garlic water with a splash of chicken broth or a spoonful of Bullion.
Most of the time I use left over potatoes from Corned Beef and Cabbage that were cooked with the Corned Beef.

      Try next.
      1. Cut potatoes by piramides. It's impotent. Don't slice potatoes.
      2. Boil it until half cooked.
      3. Drain the water.
      2. Add garlic + pepper + 1 spoon oil + other what you like.
      3. Then oven 30 min 200 C = 392 F.
      4. Fry onions in another pan with spices.
You'll have potatoes with brown crust and tender puree under them and testy onion
