- Skillet potatoes and onions are a perfect quick breakfast! I love to have smothered potatoes with eggs and bacon for a complete meal. What's your favorite thing to eat with them?

1 red bell pepper
1 onion
garlic powder
salt free cajun seasoning
old bay
salt to taste
bacon grease or cooking oil of choice

This is a classic dish, I remember my grandmother making this for us with a side of fried green tomatoes.

I love fried potatoes and onions...lots of onion. I also add green peppers. I will eat this with anything, mostly breakfast but I also like fish with fried potatoes

I enjoy hard boiled eggs with my Fried Potatoes.
I use to LOVE when my Mommy made these in my childhood..i had mines with Over easy eggs, bacon and toast. Mommy still here at 85 Amen
I just eat it by itself as a sort of dinner with biscuits. So good.. haven't made it in a decade plus, though!

My mother would make this dish every Saturday morning without fail. She made it in her cast iron skillet without the peppers, only onions. She served it with bacon eggs and sausage, OMG!!! Soooo good.

im a new subscriber and I enjoy watching ur content so much! I was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas and I know you say black mamas put you to work in the kitchen.. well my mama was a white mama but she did the same and all your recipes remind me of my moms recipes. She left me and my siblings so sometimes I have a hard time figuring out what she would use cause she was a great classic southern mama cooking. I know you didnt make potato salad but my mom would use miracle whip in her pot salad and it was the best. Like everything you do from the way you do your cuts and seasoning it is so nostalgic!

Breakfast tacos! Potato egg and cheese. Potato (refried) bean and cheese. Potato egg and bacon. With homemade flour tortillas (picked up in a pack from a taco cabana or rosas if you can’t make your own)

We had those potatoes with grits, bacon, toast, eggs and sometimes pancakes or whatever other thing my parents came up with. I'm going to have them tomorrow with eggs, grits, and biscuits. Hope mine come out as beautiful and tasty looking as yours🥰

Chile them scorched onions in potatoes bare to die for! That's flava on top of flava. My teenage daughter will not eat them without them lol.

My mom and mamaw would cook them for dinner with salmon patties or what ever. My mom also would all breaded okra with skillet potatoes. It was so good

My mother would make these potatoes for breakfast and sometimes dinner! We would have this with cubed steak and gravy or pork chops or baked chicken. But I would always just eat them all by themselves! I am the potato monster as my mother would call me! 🥔

We would eat these mostly with fried fish or fried pork chops for dinner. I have had them for breakfast ( and it’s a treat) but rarely growing up.. I now cook them for breakfast…
I use vegetable oil and butter to fry them.

My mother never made it for breakfast it was dinner dish in my house mainly with steak or most days she would make a pan of it and I would eat with ketchup and bread like a sandwich I know that’s a lot of carbs don’t judge me lol

This was really good but I made a mistake by putting in allot of salt thinking it wouldn't be salty enough
Try again with less salt and you will love it

Never seen it in stores. Usually just keep leftover bacon grease
