I don't like this parody because I feel like it tramples over the spirit of the original song, preaching "God" in it's wake.
I'm not opposed to your beliefs, I just think that something more self-empowering would've been far more appropriate.
The original was ripe with inner strength and spoke to the sheer grit / strength of will in the author.
A song about will power / standing by your beliefs would've been far more moving.
Instead, your lyrics are about placing your faith in someone / something else.
If Gloria Gaynor had any of these lines in her original, for example, "He will provide", it would be in direct contrast to the message of that song.
This clear contrast demonstrates to me, that your soul desire to parody this particular song, stems from the immense popularity surrounding it, not the artistry.
Which I believe to be, a very selfish and shallow motive to parody such an inspiring work of art. For that reason, I can't respect this. Nor align myself with it's message.

      1. This is a parody in which it takes a song many people love and changed it so it could be used in church for kids to listen to. It doesn’t have to reference the original in any way other than sound. I mean take a look at the minecraft “New World” parody of coldplays “Paradise”. Now some do, but by no means is that a requirement of parodies.
      2. No way this song showed up in your recommended. It has 19 likes and 7 comments as of 2024 so I know you had to be searching for parodies of “I Will Survive” at the very least. On that same note of only have 7 comments and 19 likes, because of these things, you can tell it was not done to get recognition. Like I said earlier, this was so clearly made for kids. Puppets with a fun song many kids would recognize changed into a good message for kids.
      3. Speaking of the message, you clearly didn’t get the message of the Bible. It defeats the whole purpose if this was made more about your own strength because that would go against the whole idea behind the Bible! The Bible is a book about how we are not enough, we do not have the strength, and we are not worthy of life let alone love of any kind. That is why the Bible is so powerful because the only perfect man, Jesus, died for everyone who is not worthy so that they can be saved without being worthy. You said you weren’t opposed to the beliefs of Christianity and then you went on to oppose the entire belief and idea behind Christianity.
      4. Just because this version is about how God will provide for you, that doesn’t make the original I will survive any less powerful. They don’t have to be at opposition. It is important to push through the hard times, but it is also important to trust God when you are not able to push through. When you lose a job and are struggling for money, yes, push through and don’t give up. You will survive. At the same time, in the end, God will provide so that you can survive. God can’t provide if you’ve given up and aren’t willing to take the chances God gives you. So you need to push forward, but you also need God to pull you forward as well. Both are powerful songs with a lot of good meanings behind it.
      5. I did not post this for popularity (once again, this video only has 7 comments so I would gain literally nothing from this), and I am not trying to go against how you feel. I just think you need more valid arguments and reasons for why you feel how you feel. I don’t want to start a war in these comments and I don’t want you to feel like I am trying to disrespect you. You seemed to come into this video without much understanding of the Bible, so I wanted to clarify areas where you seemed to be confused. I hope you have a wonderful day, thank you for giving me something to do during a boring shift at work. :)
