Ibelieve is exactly the oposite: - The why is subjective (is based on the perspectives of everyone) and you can have more than one, depending on the area of your life you are focus on; it can change, just as anyone grows and change... it evolves, get sophisticated. - The Just Cause is utopic, yes, but is also objective because it involves more people and it wants to achieve a real transformation for the people, most of the energy goes into that cause, it is a direction, so you basicly have one. This is Just my perspective, I love Simon´s work and content, and I´m greatful he´s sharing it.
As an attention-span-challenged child of '60s TV etc. - I so appreciate that Simon usually makes his points in what I call VTNs (Valuable Thought Nuggets.) It's not about the quantity of words or the length of the message. It's about the essence imparted and the impact they bring. Bravo sir.
Yea, I have had many good employers that paid me well. But I was there for the money. I didn't really believe in their why. I am also a Volunteer Firefighter, dont get paid, don't want to. When I go to a call and we can give people hope. More than once, we felt bad, wish we could have done more. Then someone, who just lost everything, materialistic, comes up and give you a hug and says Thank You Just cause
This sounds like a matter of perspective... a WHY - derivative of our beliefs and thus created purpose - is formed by our experiences and consequently the way we view the world, before - and - after said experience. This is very individual and the view subjective. I can change the way I view the world - regardless of ho much work that may be or that additional experiences may be needed - so my why is subjective, individual and my own. What he may mean, I gather, is that the experience itself is something unchangeable, it happens, so it comes from an objective place(?). I would not necessarily take this characteristic as one for differentiation, the more prominent might be that a WHY is inward and what drives us personally, regardless of the rest of the world. A just cause should involve others. At least from the way I understand his definition. Considering that companies should orient themselves around others (customer, employee), a just cause might be a better orientation than just the WHY. Otherwise they tend to lose themselves in a purpose from a sole business and economical growth perspective, which I have observed often.

You never change at your core at least it’s true for me. It’s like roots of the tree remain always the same but it can bloom, leaves fall etc.. but roots never change.
@@OlgaSunny-pl2sg can you please clarify what you mean when you say "my core"? I personally feel like I am a completely different person from 2014 when I was in high school, and isn't that expected of us? That's growth! I feel like am missing something here
You are not missing anything. We all go through different phases of life that requires some type of growth. When I say at your core I mean your your values who you are as an individual, what has shaped you. If you have contact with elderly they often talk about their young lives they go back to their roots. Remembering how they were raised , parents, traditions etc.. it’s very interesting. You would think they would be talking about activities of daily living but come to find out it’s going back to their childhood.
Yes, they change "you". If "you" is a collection of experiences, they are changed/increased constantly. The "early you" has a limited time/experience in contrast to "late you". Naturally, they might contradict. People might have the same "experiences", but in different ways. Think of the what, how, when, with whom, ..., etc. These all add variances. There are many factors. If you ponder enough, you might come to the conclusion that the "I" (or "you") is an illusion. (If you're a religious person, these don't matter. Religion provides the person with an unchangeable experience, identity, core, that is, a soul. This automatically makes you "special"... These muddy the waters and things become fictiony, so there's very little gain in pursuing further.)
L’amour pardonne tout mais l’amour ne peut pas pardonner éternellement. Aujourd’hui même un homme m’a faire la cour lorsque je suis aller faire des courses il y a peine 2 heures de temps. Tu as attends quoi Simon pour t’engager? On va passer tout notre temps à bavarder pour toi même ton propre bonheur
I love this guy, I wanna be a Simon Sinek when I grow up.

People are not static - they constantly change. It's silly to think otherwise.

Too good looking
Or the day after

How am I looking
Je viens de la clinique, j’ai fait un TB test et le vaccin d’hépatite A
I don't know my why
Everyone said I looked beautiful
Missed me

If who I am is the product of my experiences, then the experiences I will go through in the future will add on to that and change who I am! No?
