My mother passed away in 1987, and her mother passed away in 1994. As I sat in the hospital room with my grandmother, who had had a stoke, she suddenly started talking as if she was talking to someone. It was obvious to me I was hearing one side of a two sided conversation, As the conversation went on I realized she was talking with my deceased mother. It was a very profound experience for me.

What a beautiful message. Before my grandmother passed, she kept talking about "going to her house." My mom thought she was just delirious, but when I put on my "just believe" hat and started asking her questions, she started giving me detailed descriptions of a house far more grand than anything I knew was in her humble past, so I suggested, "So this is your heavenly house God is preparing for you?" She threw up her hands and said, "FINALLY, somebody is listening to me! Your mother doesn't get this at all." 😊

My mom passed away almost 2 weeks ago at the hospital. I was there for her from the beginning and end of her short journey through Hospice at the hospital. One day, I saw her moving her lips but not speaking out loud. Then she slightly leaned forward and kissed the air. I said, "Mom, was that dad who you kissed (he's been deceased for nearly 14 years)?" She said, "Uh huh." Another time just before she was sleeping a lot and then died, she squinted her eyes toward the ceiling and I said, "Mom, do you see dad?" By this point, she was nonverbal. She looked at me and smiled. She died not long after that and I was by her side. I'm so glad that I believe in Life After Death or I would be a mess.

My sweet mother died five years ago tomorrow. It is so strange that I would come upon this video just hours before the anniversary of her death. I was with her when she died. I woke that morning and had an urgency to get to the nursing home. When I walked in, she was barely awake. Hospice had told me she only had a few days left the week before. Two weeks before I witnessed her talking to her mother and sister in a three way conversation. I had no idea that she was actually speaking with them until now. As she lay there quietly, she grabbed my hands with her own and pressed them into my chest. A tear rolled down her cheek. I asked her why she was crying. She had not spoken for a couple of weeks. She simply said, "I love you" and passed over the threshold to Heaven. I still have such an emotional feeling about that day. To get through my grief, I wrote a book about the whole experience of Alzheimer's and death. "Dancing on the Edge" by Susan Stanton.

After my lady died, her daughter built an elaborate garden in her memory at her new house. I was house-sitting her original home. Some wildlife critters (probably deer 🦌) ate all the flowers. She was crushed. Two weeks later, her mom's favorite perinneals sprouted unexpectedly in the same spot!!! The only flower that she DID NOT PLANT. She called me to tell me AT THE SAME TIME I took pictures of those same perinneals blooming at her old house! It's almost as if the deers were instructed to put them there. Mom must be saying, "I'm alright. I'm here. Let life happen. You two will be alright as well." ❤❤❤😊 Rest in Heaven, MJ.

Losing my mother suddenly, and unexpectedly, changed the way I felt about the afterlife. I realized that we told ourselves there was an afterlife to make losing our loved one a bit “easier” to get through.
A little short of 14 years later, as my father was at end of life, I came full circle. I had the honor, and privilege, to be with Daddy in his final days.
Not only did Daddy see Mother, wave to her, and talk to her, she made herself known to me. I’m forever grateful to have been with my father, and to experience my mother comforting him, and letting him know everything was going to be alright.

My brother and I took care of both our parents as they were both on hospice at the same time. It was difficult and also very enlightening. Five months after Dad passed we were in the kitchen fixing dinner for us. Mom was no longer eating more than once per day. We had a baby monitor in her room as she could not call us in a loud voice. With the monitor speaker in the kitchen we could head her say”Boys” or call us by name if she needed anything. This night and for the next two weeks before she became “Non Responsive”, she was talking. We were hearing half of a conversation between our Mom and several other deceased relatives, including our recently passed father. she addressed many by name. When either me or my brother would come into her room she would sometimes say, “I wasn’t talking to anyone!” “ You know I am not crazy!” We felt from what we were hearing they were preparing her to come be with them.

Lost my mom to aggressive breast cancer and was there for her last hours - she and I rescued wildlife together. One bird in particular we got attached to, a white-eye. When she died, I would often think to myself, wouldn't it be nice to have her visit me in the form of a bird, which I thought at the time was silly, but you know, whatever helps.
I was sitting in a lecture at university a few months later and one flew in to the lecture theatre. I looked at it and thought to myself, mom, if that's you, show me - come on over.
That bird flew all the way from the lecture theatre ceiling on to my bag and sat there for a good minute or two looking at me. I was in total shock. Our lecturer joked about me calling it down from the ceiling with my brain.
I'm no longer religious, but I can't shake that experience or dismiss it. Makes me feel like there must be something more.

It's hard to be religious when sacred words are used to justify and even create the most horrid human behavior. But the ancient scriptures and teachings throughout the world, and into the distant past, capture the experiences of our ancestors. The universe is vast, and we're part of it, I can't help but feel there's something more. And yes, it probably was your mother. (If it were my deceased mother it would have pooped on me. And I would have laughed.)

God will reach you, just seek him. At 15 I used to tell God I hated him, over and over again, and sometimes I would say, “If you are real then show me. If there is a reason to love,to get married and have kids then show me.” About 3 months later a friend talked me into going to a youth retreat. I did it because she was a good friend. No other reason.
That Sunday morning they trudged us half way across the mountain to this view of the whole valley below. We were singing a song called Peace is Flowing like a River. I felt the peace and power of God. I said,”If this is what it’s like to serve you, I’ll serve you every day of my life.” I came off that mountain and went to Catholic Church. He was not there. I then met my future husband. His father had passed away. He asked me to go to church with his family because two of his brother were in the military and his Mom would like all her boys in Church with her before they left back to duty.
That preacher said,”if you are not sure if your salvation, if you don’t know that heaven will be your home come forward.” I hadn’t the slightest idea what he was talking about! But the feeling I had on the mountain was there. I kept going to church every Sunday, regardless of how much “partied” the night before.
It was about 6 months later watched a Christian program that I understood what it meant to be born again and give my life to Christ. I understood and I gave my life to Christ. That was 38 years ago. It would take books to tell you if all the wonderful things he has done in my life. Of all he has seen me through. He has never left me never forsaken me. He has held my hand through many situations. I have pressed into learning more about him. Growing up in Christ. I have never looked back. The worst day with Jesus is still better than the best day without him.
I could not write of all the miracles, answered prayer victories and changes that I have had by learning to walk by faith and stand in my authority as a child of God.
Seek him. Just be sincere. And he will show himself to you.
He is a loving God. Jesus Christ is still the answer.
Get through the smoke and mirrors of so many churches today. Go straight to him. He is waiting for you. As is your loved ones…

I became a nurse in 1995, I have been privileged to be present with many who have passed on and witnessed them converse with loved ones who went before them. I have had patients tell me they were going to pass and did before my shift ended. I have had patients look at me and ask me to pray for them when I have never shared my religious beliefs prior to them. I have had many memories I cherish that were private only between my patients and I that truly cemented my faith. I have also witnessed patients who did not have a peaceful passing and who had a dark cloud over them, I believe that prior to you passing you are able to see what or who is coming for you. I will forever believe that to my core!!

My maternal grandpa once died and came back and knew it had happened to him. My grandma was going to be away for the day and told him not to forget to take his pills. Of course he forgot. His blood sugar spiked and he felt very sleepy and went to sleep. Then he saw his FIL asking him "what are you doing here? It is not time for you to be here yet." My grandpa then asked him if my great grandpa (his FIL) had seen his own parents and my great grandpa told him that my grandpa's parents where "further in" and he did not have time to see them because he had to come back. He then woke up soaked in sweat on the couch, took his pills and told us and my grandma what had happened.
We have many stories of dying relatives calling out dead relatives names and talking to them. My paternal grandpa was talking to his dead mother and sister as he was passing. I used to have death anxiety but I do not have death anxiety for me but for the ones I will lose and will have to live without. But this gives me comfort, knowing they are being reunited with other loved ones thag had passed away. I am a believer as well I am Christian and I do believe in an afterlife these experience only reinforced my belief ☦️🕊 ❤

I know a nurse who worked in hospice care while she was a nursing student at Emory. She told me about an elderly man who constantly was talking -- having actual conversations -- to an empty chair. She told that one afternoon, as he was talking to that empty chair, she washed her hands, looked into the mirror above the sink and saw another man sitting in the chair talking back to her patient. She spun around, but saw no one in the chair. She looked in the mirror, but again saw no one. She swears to this day that it's a true story.

This kind of thing happens to everyone on my Mother's side of the family. She died this past February in home hospice. A few hours before passing, she began calling me Martha, or so I thought. I asked her about it, not really expecting anything coherent, but she said Martha (her deceased sister) was tickling her feet. I knew my aunt had come to take Mom home.

    1. My late second husband "was the butterflies."
    2. The second and third presidents of the United States, John Adams and Thomas Jefferson both passed away on July 4, 1826, which, by the way, happened to be the 50th anniversary of the adoption of the Declaration of Independence. Jefferson had passed earlier in the day, and John Adams' last words were, "Thomas Jefferson Survives." Most folks probably assume that means Adams knew he was dying and thought that Jefferson was still among the living. I do wonder, though, if perhaps the recently departed Jefferson came and appeared to Adams? 🤔

After my Nannie passed away in the hospital, we headed back to her and Pa Pa's house. My mom had been up over 40 hours, and she went to lay down in Nannie's bed. As she was drifting off to sleep, she heard and felt the bed move like someone would be getting in the bed. She thought it was me as she raised up to see if it was me and no one was there. We all said that it was Nannie visiting mom to let her know she's ok and happy where she was. I'm still thinking of it today i still get a sense of piece.

What a beautiful process this young lady went through with her patients. I have had the honor to be with loved ones during their transition process. I remember as a child when my great aunt was dying (I was not there) in a nursing home the aids stated it wouldn't be long for she was speaking to her loved ones. I have never forgotten this. So as my father was in the hospital several years ago he asked my mother if she could see the Blessed Mother Mary up on the ceiling of his room. She said no so he pointed to Mary. My father is 89 and prays the rosary every day. I am confident that Mary will be there for my father when his times arrives

My grandma was born in France and came to the US before she was 10. She lived in the US the rest of her life. She had a very pronounced French accent to her English. When I asked her to teach me French, she told me she didn't remember how to speak it. In the two weeks before she passed, she was bedridden and in and out of deep sleep. She was speaking fluent French to her mom and her sister who had both passed away years earlier. It was profound.

I sat with my father at home for weeks, then at his bedside over his last 4 days. He recognised the shape of my hands, & he began conversing with his mother in law, my nan. He told her that he now knows where she hides the biscuit tin, so she’d better put the kettle on! He was certain, & pointed to where it was in his mind. My mother arrived, with siblings & I let them closer, but they heard his breathing, & mumbling, so I told them to stop listening to his breath, & listen to his words.. & mum, heard him say her mothers name, Jessica, he nodded, all whilst semi-conscious, unaware of his surroundings, other than the hand he held, the names he heard or said. He held on, mumbling one brother,s name, -who didn’t believe how close he was to leaving us. (But that’s another story) It wasn’t his own parent he spoke to, nor one of his dozen brothers- all but one gone before. But we saw Nan more often, & the memories were far sweeter, for Nan, did place custard creams on his saucer, & gave us digestives, then she’d nip next door to the kitchen & return without the tartan tin, -which he never did manage to find.

My Mom's Mom, was disabled and in her 70's she slipped going to bathroom and hit her head on washing machine. She had a brain bleed and stroke. I woke my mother saying I heard her calling for help. My mother, grabbed her robe, ran to next block, to my grandma's. She was unconscious. My mother called ambulance and after grandma was transported to hospital my mom changed, dad tooky mom to her room, and came home to be with us kids. 3 days later, she assed away my mom was reading to her mom. She told me, grandma asked, her to listen... Mom holding her hand, said what do you hear Mom? Dhe said: Angels, it is do beautiful. She sat up in bed, reaching, and said: Jerry, and as if embracing her husband, that had passed many years before, she laid back in bed with a smile on her face, and peacefully passed away... ❤ My mother was always amazed that i heard her in my head, calling for help, and my Grandma was unconscious, and a block away, and I was like 4, at the time.
