Ooh! Ooh! Let me tell you about my heart episode. I went to see my doctor for my semi-annual checkup. I hadn't been feeling very well for a while and I told her so. She listened to my chest with a stethoscope and five minutes later I'm on my way to the hospital. For a couple of days the staff in ICU use a little of this and a little of that to see how I'd respond. Finally, my doc says they're going stop my heart. But just for a moment. I say sure. They wheel me into surgery. It's cold and I'm impatient to get the show on the road. I ask a fellow wearing scrubs nearby when we're going to get started. He says, "We're done," and they wheel me back to my room. It's strange to have an unguessed amount of time snipped seamlessly from your life, like frames from a film.

I wouldn’t recommend Oahu for a vacation. It’s not the most beautiful island by any measure. If you want to see the real beauty of Hawaii, visit Maui or Kauai! I wish they would STOP using the term "Near-Death" to describe someone that "almost died", like Kelsey did, rather than its proper use, which is where someone describes a "Near Death Experience" or NDE. I don't know if this was done intentionally, for click bait, or if they simply don't understand the difference between the two. But calling something a "Near-Death Experience" as the videos title states is very specific and means it was an NDE, not just someone who "almost died" or was in a "near-fatal" situation. The two are vastly different. Very annoying.

@@ob2249 "y0u make a distincti0n where there isn`t 0ne". L'et's prove your little theory wrong, shall we?: Please type NDE into Google and also into RUclips, and then count the first 1000 hits in each and tell me how many of those are what you would term "almost died" situations vs people having a metaphysical experience. Then tell me again how you think there is no distinction. Go ahead, we'll wait...
And no, I'm not religious. People who have had NDE experiences span all religions, no religion, all ages, and all time periods. It's only that science has not yet caught up to what is truly happening, but eventually it will. It would be like trying to explain FM radio or Bluetooth connections to someone from the 1600's. If you attempted to do so, Intellectuals would be ranting and raving about how "invisible" communication was "impossible." And the Church and the common folks would label you are some kind of witch, charlatan, or devil. That's kind of where we still are today with the stigma of speaking openly about non-physical communication with energy or "spirit" beings from outside of the physical plane.
Millions of NDE accounts throughout all of human history. Surely you don't think everyone just "made it all up", do you?

To the critics of the title: It does really seem to have been a near death experience. Not a death experience. The people who have a "leaving of the body" experience did actually die, and were subsequently resuscitated. Now THAT is a death experience - Kelsey's experience was only "near death", because he didn't actually die at any point.

It's called a re=perfusion arrhythmia, when some toxins from the affected muscles tissue are released and interferes with the normal electrical activity. It's fairly common and people are "usually" resuscitated successfully.

I'd suggest Mr. Grammer avoid having another heart attack in Oahu, lest he end up under Dr. Gertner's ministrations.

I thought it was going to be about him crossing over. But there are times that when someone almost dies, they say I had a near death experience because they nearly died.

A near death experience, nde is when you catch a glimpse of heaven or hell, strictly speaking. This is kind of mislabeled as he had no experience like that. More correct to say Kelsey Grammar was close to death. Glad he's ok.

@maryangeladouglas I think there's something to NDEs, but how can you base your argument on something that is technically not provable? "glimpse of heaven or hell, strictly speaking."
And the term "near death" may commonly suggest a transcendent experience, but Kelsey did "die" and was brought back in time to survive.
Maybe there's something to the distinction - maybe Kelsey's spirit never left his body, or something else - but we don't really know. All we know is, he died and was revived.

It was probably best that Kelsey didn't talk about the sitcom he had at the time, "Hank". The show was a flop with the ratings and critics, and ABC cancelled it after only five of the ten episodes produced had aired.
