We are using a spreadsheet now. We have really cut back on our spending. We had a general budget app we used before but I think wasn't diligent on entering everything in because it didn't show me the info in a way I wanted. But since manually doing it in in a spreadsheet I have a lot more control and can see where every dollar is going. Our goal is to pay off and get out of consumer debt - focusing on one balance at a time.

I am surprised how many people do not track expenses and/or work from a budget. This explains in part why so many people have financial issues.
