Even though the 350 is tuning it’s too weak and the arrow is absorbing energy thru flexing. Therefore you’re getting more efficiency from the 300 spine and that’s why speed is funky. I’d say the reason youre able to tune at all is because the UV arrows are able to rebound quickly. I’d be curious to watch the two out of the bow with a high speed camera. (Ignore username, son wants to make RUclips videos 😂)
Took the words right out of my mouth! The stiffer spine is going to travel better because it’s stronger and won’t be forced to travel in a flexed state
Came here to say that too. I was thinking the energy from the rs is much more because of the compact nature of it all. I didnt think about the spines until after and then saw your comment. I'm sure that's what's going on.
Ended up going with the 29.5". I'm a 29" draw so I'd be maxed out on the RS. Man I liked that RS though. I hunt whitetail in WI but want to do more 3D. Upgraded from the 20+ year old Q2 so I think I'm going to be happy either way.
I bought myself my dream bow build with the lift x 33 and I have only shot a Diamond infinite edge pro before getting it and I have to say the difference is amazing. I used to MAX be able to shoot 40yrds comfortably but I have only gone out to 70 so far with the lift x and I am getting amazing groups.
Chris, how in the world did this video catch me by surprise and it's already 3 weeks old. Man, been wondering where you were sir. Looking forward to LAS unboxing and you know regular shenanigans during spring and summer. Hope you guys had a blessed Christmas. God Bless brother. Thanks for posting this content. I can't say enough good things about my lift 33 I got a few months ago. God is good fam.
Maybe spine is that important for arrow efficiency?? Those results are very interesting. +20 grains with the same velocity is a huge kinetic energy jump.
Watching in the stand in Oklahoma! Could you do a video on how you pick trees for saddles/lock ons and why? I always have trouble finding good trees. Keep up the good work brotha!
Another great video Chris! Wondering about front/rear stabilizers. Can you do a video on how to set them up? Back bar especially. They are to help your pin settle correct and keep bubble on sight where it should be?
Thank you for posting videos like this as well as you’re hunting videos are great you and seek one have a great hunting style and I’m getting into and I believe the rs is a sweet how and I’m for sure getting it after this!
Out of curiosity, what are you looking for when you draw? I always see you look up at the cam or something. You checking the cams or string on track. I know most just stare where they want to it from the beginning
Well crud. Made an order. Hope to win. Haven’t got my order and didn’t win. Hahah. That’s awesome congrats to the winner. I hope that Mathews picks me for a back up to the proving ground. I have faith. It will happen. Thanks for what you’re doing for the community. Keep up the great work friend. Good ole boy videos. Coming soon. ;) proving ground. General public land hunts coming soon. Poor broke boy with Mathews bows. Hahah. Yeah I’m in next year. I will have mine in early as well. ;) Good luck the rest of the season buddy. Dale.
I bet at 20 yards the 350’s are faster. I have some grizzly sticks that are faster at 20,30,40,50 than off the riser. Lots of energy lost in flex. Btw, thanks for taking the time to do all of these awesome videos Chris
So was curious, will you do a video with a Mathews lift x 29.5 Wanna see the comparison between 70 and 80lbs limbs. 70lbs maxed out draw weight and speed compared to 80lb limbs backed off draw weight and speed. Or if you’ve already done a video like that with a different bow? Getting ready to buy the new lift x and wanna go 80lbs limbs possibly but be neat to see if and how big of a difference there is between the two limbs with draw weight, speed, or anything else. Thank you Chris, keep up the great content sir
Chris Bee, I am fairly new to bow hunting as I have only been doing it for a couple of years and I have been watching your vids (which i think are the most informative on youtube and yes I am a subscriber lol). I purchased a Bear Attack 2nd hand and have been loving it however I am starting to think about upgrading the sight on it as I feel it isnt user friendly once i start shooting at 40+ meters. My question is do you think I am better off just saving to upgrade the bow or are they good enough to hold on to and spend the dollars on upgrading it. I am in Melbourne Australia and dont have big dollars to throw at my hobby so I would appreciate your opinion if possible. Regards Pete
Why doesnt the RS have a back bar side mount? Thats disappointing. I like my back bars to be as low as possible. But its not that big of a deal. As far as speeds, that rs is just faster, maybe because of the ata?
Makes no sense. Why would the shorter bow not shoot a lot faster? I figured the shorter ata would be over 10 fps faster but only a few more fps makes me think its not worth loosing the accuracy of a larger ata bow.
I have the lift 33 with gas strings pulling 83lbs and I’m slinging a 500grain arrow 290 and that’s at the pro shop over the same garmin I don’t know why I have trouble trusting that thing
That’s because measuring equipment usually is very sensitive. A lot of error comes from having it setup / using it incorrectly. It’s not designed to be used in a closed room, because of the occurring reflections. I have the Garmin myself and the difference between indoors and outdoors is incredible. The most deviation I get outdoors is 0.5 FPS. Indoors it can be up to 5 FPS, when it’s a tight space.
Dang. I just watched this video. I ordered stuff during Black Friday. Was really hoping to win. Somehow my tailgate opened on my truck and my bow fell out. I can’t find it and now have to get a new bow 😢
I know it isn't exactly the same comparison as the 29.5 vs 33; but I really didn't notice a big difference carrying my lift 33 through the woods, pulling into the tree, etc. vs my old 31.5" ATA bow. The 33" ATA didn't seem to get in the way. I'm not a long draw length guy either...I just liked the feel of the longer riser. Also, why not take both the RS and the 29.5 to Texas? Always good to have a backup!
300fps is probably equivalent to how fast the limbs/string can move and return to their resting state. Probably want to keep adding weight to the arrow until you see the speed start to dip a little, so you're getting the most efficiency. You can also just quickly calculate out the energy the arrow has to work out what weight is giving you the most energy (e=1/2 mv^2) but you also need to remember that although speed has a higher effect on kinetic energy than mass, the more mass the projectile has, the better it will retain its energy over distance due to being less effected by drag. So whilst a screaming fast lightweight arrow might have more energy on release, a heavier arrow is far more able to retain that energy out at distance.
I wouldnt be surprised if your garmin can tell you the speed of the arrow at 50/60/70m etc which would be very interesting to see how different weight arrows perform out of the same bow
I like these videos, but they start way off topic from what is expected from the title and thumbnail, and they are about 10-15 minutes too long. There is no shortage of archery information on. But there is a shortage of exiting and entertaining archery content.
Chris Bee love your builds plz hook me up with one of your bows out of the ( BOW HALL OF FAME) lol plz help lost all my hunting gear in the hurricane really could use some help with a bow thank you
350 spine is to weak (flimsy) for 80lbs Chris. My apologies. Lemme rephrase. 350 is just losing a bit more energy than 300 or 250 cuz it's flexing a bunch more compared to the others. While flexing too much. It's losing energy an therefore losing speed. Depending on you're arrow length 300 spine seems better to me an a 250 spine at 80 lbs if you're arrows more than 30 inches. Stiffer shaft won't flex as much so it'll loses less energy an cruses slightly faster than the 350 because it's recovering faster. I Was stumped when i found this out about 20 years ago an i tinkerd an tested until I understood why the Stiffer an even heavier shaft was faster. Although once that 350 recovers an stops flexing a bit down range it picked up some speed down speed an was just a little faster than the heavier arrow. I did the speed testing at 1 yard. Then 10 yards, then 20 an then 30 shot through a chronograph..

@ nobody said you couldn’t do it saying it’s “best” for a 30 inch draw to be shooting a 29 inch bow is absurd or even recommending it. It’s like me looking at a 6 foot 265 pound man and recommending he wears a medium shirt. It’s stupidity. He’s never been at the top of the technical side of archery so I’m not surprised. Hes actually not all that knowledgeable about it. He has a platform that doesn’t mean he’s got knowledge.
@@jwild5360 yeah, not even a close comparison. The ATA isn’t the only concern. When in full draw the lift x cams where the string comes out are farther apart than most people think. Making the string angle very comfortable; yes, even at 30 inch draw. I can promise you this isn’t a bow from even 6 years ago where the ATA was the only thing people looked at for good shooting bows. This is my 4th bow and 4th bow company, first time with Mathews, and honestly it would take a lot from other companies to make me want to switch from Mathews going forward. I think you just don’t like Mathews.
@ lol you have no clue what your talking about. The string angle is horrible bc the limbs flex so much. The cam height has very little to do with string angle. Limbs tip flex and cam angle determines string angle. I have every string angle measure from every flagship over the last 10 years. You simply are incorrect.
@ I own 2 lift x 33s. I absolutely love Mathews. I’ve owned 100 plus bows. I was shooting with GRIV when Chris bee was waist high running around the shop in snellville.

“Michigan small buck shooters” hurt the soul🫠
Michigan is the worst state for hunting mature bucks in the Midwest.
Sadly he’s not wrong 😅
It’s unfortunate that it’s true
Sounds like a football team
Love these half year reviews
Mathews did a heck of a job with the new bows. Keep up the good work chris
Going to my local shop this Saturday to shoot the X 29.5. I shot the RS a couple times and really liked it. I keep going back and forth!
Ended up going with the 29.5". I'm a 29" draw so I'd be maxed out on the RS. Man I liked that RS though. I hunt whitetail in WI but want to do more 3D. Upgraded from the 20+ year old Q2 so I think I'm going to be happy either way.
Maybe because the the 350 spine arrow is flexing so much it takes speed\energy away?
Hearing about more spine is better than less from some places. Might be into something!
I bought myself my dream bow build with the lift x 33 and I have only shot a Diamond infinite edge pro before getting it and I have to say the difference is amazing. I shot all 3 and ordered the 33 it just felt so good 👍
I’d love to see a side by side review of accuracy between you shooting a bow with and without a stabilizer(s).
Thanks for the 5 month review. Good luck in Texas!
Thank you for posting videos like this as well as you’re hunting videos are great you and seek one have a great hunting style and I’m getting into and I believe the rs is a sweet how and I’m for sure getting it after this!
Thanks for the reviews Chris. Always interesting.

Some guys stare up at the cam to look for torque and cam lean
Really wish you'd review one of those temu compounds they have out there it would definitely be a kick to see how they compare
My day is always better when Chris post
Chris, what length stabilizer did you end up using on the RS? Since the v bar has to be on the front.
Well crud. Made an order. Hope to win. Haven’t got my order and didn’t win. Hahah. That’s awesome congrats to the winner. I hope that Mathews picks me for a back up to the proving ground. I’m running phase 4 29.5 28inch draw 80lbs 426grain arrow Vap TKO 300 spine hitting 301 fps

Reset the garmin. I’ve heard other people say after so many shots the speeds seem off
It always turns into a better day when you see Chris drop a new vid. Keep up the great work! Love ya!!!
Awesome video thanks Chris Bee.
my V3X shoots 545gr 299fps 535 304 but 485gr only 311, the cam is just more efficient at the higher weight
Does RS stand for really small

How would you rate the Mathew’s V3X on a scale of 1-10
Why doesnt the RS have a back bar side mount? Thats disappointing. I like my back bars to be as low as possible. But its not that big of a deal. As far as speeds, that rs is just faster, maybe because of the ata?
Looks like you never installed the scs. I use it on mine and like it a lot
Thoughts on elk hunting with the RS? 65-70# draw weight?
Chris do you have any creed bows? I know they're 2010 model bows but if anyone with your collection had it, it'd be you
Hey Chris what are some tips you have for a beginner archer please
Makes no sense. Why would the shorter bow not shoot a lot faster? I figured the shorter ata would be over 10 fps faster but only a few more fps makes me think its not worth loosing the accuracy of a larger ata bow.

Do you have any good tips on budget single pin bow sights
What is the Matthews like I have never shot one always shot a elite
You should review the Matthew’s monster safari bow !!!
Ordered a 33, question on the new UV sight. I only shoot 3d and target, will they ever offer a single pin on this slider?
They actually already do
is he a mathews dealer? what has the better draw cycle? phase 4 or lift x
Alright question. Do you think Mathews will ever offer a kit to put the limb tuning ability on a 2024 lift?
Nope
Not a chance. They want you to buy the newest bow.
What is a good hunting sight
I am 13 and I am trying to get a bow and I don’t have a lot of money to spend what should I get. I love your videos
Used one always is great option. V3x, traverse, wake all great options
Dang. I just watched this video. I ordered stuff during Black Friday. Was really hoping to win. Somehow my tailgate opened on my truck and my bow fell out. I can’t find it and now have to get a new bow 😢
With the LiftX 29.5 being the same riser… can we order just limbs to add to our lift 29.5??? 😬
I was wondering the same thing
A bow shop nearby said if you give him two months he could put the same limbs that are on the lift x on the lift
@TrentonRogers-u2v Mathews isn't going to let it happen.
Maybe not entering it in the actual garmin grain weight like you had to when you set it up
What about all the Lift X’a with strings fraying??
Never heard that to be a problem
Love the videos Chris
Im thinking you are losing speed due to underspine and over flexing
your bows are probably tuned for the different spine
I love my VXR 31.5 but Matthew keeps on out doing it every year 😢
Congratulations sir
I know it isn't exactly the same comparison as the 29.5 vs 33; but I really didn't notice a big difference carrying my lift 33 through the woods, pulling into the tree, etc. vs my old 31.5" ATA bow. We need a Chris Bee X meat eater episode
that is slow for that bow IBO of 343fps@29" (353fps estimate @30"). That bow should have been in the 315-plus range.
What bow vise is that?
October Mountain Products vise.

Hii Cris Bee can you send me a Matthews bow v3 please I need a new bow please I want to hunt with the bow next Winter please
RS seems hard to beet!
“Small buck shooters” 😂😂 ouch lol jk it’s true coming from a Michigan man😂
I love your videos
The Garmin is hit and miss
Small buck shooters, man I hate this state!!
Chris Bee love your builds plz hook me up with one of your bows out of the ( BOW HALL OF FAME) lol plz help lost all my hunting gear in the hurricane really could use some help with a bow thank you
At 57 and avid, 79lbs is not an option. How many archers are 55 plus. Entire archery industry is missing us.
You can get draw weights 40-80lbs. How is it missing you?

No I missed it
Congrats Boomer!
That small bow is screaming fast I have a 28 inch draw and have not been able to find a bow to get me over 286 at 70 pounds with my 400 grain arrows
@ bowtech ss34 it’s set on performance to
i have the lift x 29.5 @ 70Lbs and a 437 grain arrow averaging 288fps
Super early
