On your Etsy example with the Gildan 5000 t-shirt at about 28:45 in, you forgot to include the $0.20 relisting fee that Etsy charges upon the sale of the item so profit is actually $4.08. If you also were to factor in the Printify Holiday season shipping sur charge of $0.40 then profit is really $3.68. I would also like to note that for those that are charging shipping on Etsy, that Etsy has 6.5% fee of the total shipping price you charge as well.
I figure the Etsy fees including the .20 cents and shipping fees average out to be about 11.1% of the total sale. So for a $30 shirt the fee's would be $3.33. Did I do it right?
This is something that is so very often over looked- I would really like it spot-lit so the sellers can get a better handle on it. Great comment. Thank you!
If you have ads turned on, you need to calculate a 15% or 12% advertising fee for Etsy. Also, if you pay for ads on any platform, you need to account for that cost. So, at that price in your example, you are losing money.
careful! They left a lot of other fees out. You can check the comments for the information they left out. Very misleading and not actually helpful since their examples make you lose money!
Great video. You mentioned multiple stores. I am focused on home decor particularly mounting photos that I have in my files as a professional photographer onto canvas and posters. Do you recommend that I have a store for these creations and a separate store for my apparel designs? I'm a beginner and a little baffled about which route to take regarding this issue. I welcome your input. Thanks
Hey! There's no right or wrong way to do this. It really depends on your store's aesthetic and your overall image. For some, selling home decor and apparel in one store might make sense, for others, it might not. If you're totally new to selling, however, it may be a good idea to focus on one first and master that before opening another store.
Hi there! Any garment size 2XL and larger will have a higher production price that will impact the final t-shirt cost. Providers require a larger quantity of raw materials and supplies to produce, print, and deliver a larger t-shirt. However charging more still remains a personal preference, but the consensus these days is that because customers now have more choices than they’ve ever had, if brands alienate customers by charging them more for larger sizes they’ll go elsewhere.
i have not launched my store because I don't understand the shipping!! I tried to order 4 product samples, and the shipping said $315. 2 mugs an ornament and some post cards. What am I doing wrong? Why can't I speak to anyone? There is no phone number. HELLLLLP!!!😭
Thats another thing...Why arent the sample products cheaper for us?? Yeah they give us back the $29 but that doesn't even cover some of the sweatshirts. Sorry Allison Im not talking to you but it just made sense to leave a comment here for them if they ever see it
Hi Allison! We know that prices and shipping can be tricky for a lot of new sellers. That's why our support team is available 24/7 via live chat through our website and email (merchantsupport@printify.com) to answer any questions you may have about shipping and ordering samples.
@@scorpio_ice5982 Hi, Our merchants can order sample products at production price. And with Printify premium, you can order samples for up to an additional 20% discount. We don’t offer samples at a lower price because the prices we offer you are as low as we can make them.
Etsy charges a fee of up to 15% for offsite ads. Should this also be taken into the price calculation? The sales do not always come via offsite ads and 15% surcharge is a lot for the end customer. In addition (here in Germany) 19% sales tax is added. This is automatically added on the Etsy side.
How is $10 a fairly decent profit? This does not take into consideration the Etsy seller fee and Etsy ads. Can you give us a pricing strategy that includes those? What is your goal for Etsy Adspend or ROAs?
Hi Ayushi, There are different reasons why this can happen including a deactivated Etsy listing, incorrect shipping profile, etc. Please reach out to our merchant support via live chat or email (merchantsupport@printify.com) so they can look at the issue more in depth!
So if a person orders 5 different sizes of the same shirt, that person has to pay a combination of 5 shipping costs even though the 5 shirts will be in one package?
Hello! Products can be shipped at a reduced rate if they are of the same product type (for example, shirts, or mugs) and are fulfilled by the same Print Provider. In other cases, the full shipping fee will be applied to each product.
Hi there! Shipping cutoffs can be seen on our Network Fulfillment Status page printify.com/network-fulfillment-status/. I agree it makes sense to sell more from the same supplier to lower shipping cost and increase AOV. But, in truth, the Shipping Costs on the Stickers shown were not accurate. If the additional cost per item is .81, the total shipping would be 11.28, not 4.80. So the profit on TEN items would be only be $15.77 total, so only 1.58each. Which is fine, I guess if you’re selling hundreds…. BUT, neither of the examples given include the extra fixed costs you say are so important to not overlook including like Marketing Costs, Domain fees, etc. 😢 So the reality is, Stickers would be breaking even at the 5.49 to 5.99 price.
Yeah- I thought stickers were great until i saw how much they were with shipping- no one wants to spend $10 on a small sticker. Better to use Sticker Mule and get a bulk cost and ship them yourself... IMO
Hi Connie! The example here may not have be clear enough, apologies. Shipping for one sticker is $3.99 and $0.09 for each additional sticker. So for 10 stickers that'd be $3.99 for the first sticker + $0.81 for 9 additional stickers. 🙂
Why is it that i try to upload and make a digital print ready for sale as a poster, i live in Norway, when i try to make everything ready it sets the print provider to Germany, i want my products to be able to sell in the US and rest of the world, but when Printify locks the print provider to Germany, there will be som crazy shipping fees added, it must be able to have the product online, and when someone order, it will be produced in the closest country of the buyer, or the country of the buyer, so shipping fees can be as low as possible??
Hi Torben, There may be a couple of things happening here: - Your chosen product is only available through one print provider (ie. Germany), so no matter where it's ordered from, it'll be coming from that chosen provider. - Order routing is enabled. For example, if you receive an order from Germany for a product printed in the US, we'll automatically send the order to a comparable provider located in Europe to save on costs, when available. This can be checked in store settings > preferences. If you're still having trouble, our support team will be happy to help 24/7 via live chat or email (merchantsupport@printify.com).
@@Printify i checked now, Order routing is enabled, as i understand you, this must be enabled to send orders to other countries for a cheaper shipping rate?
@@TobyAllan Hi, Order routing isn't mandatory to send orders to other countries.
