ill explain why people want to believe its real.
its the same reason why so many bullshido places make so much money, have such loyal, radical, zealous followers that will send you death threats for questioning them.
because of pop culture and other things, there is now a deep set love for anything Asian, whether its martial arts, weapons, ect, there is such love that if you attack it, your questioning the very honor of Japan, China, ect. its become so bad that these people LITERALLY fabricate stuff that isnt real, such as the samurai NEVER EVER EVER EVER FUCKING EEEEEEVER used guns because "the samurai is a brave, honorable warrior. they viewed guns with utter disgust as a weapon that would make you have to commit suicide if you sullied your hands with it." they have such a hatred for guns that they project their hate onto things like the samurai. they also are so heavily influenced that they think the ninja vs samurai thing is real.
sorry, ik, long comment, but just explaining to you WHY they think this is real. he is Asian, he is practicing "official" martial arts that they love so they will not question it and if you do.......your a vile person that deserves to be spit in the face as a evil racist that dares to question the sacred arts of the ninja.(wish i was joking on that last part..........im not.......they think that.)

"Ninja" characters would dress and act as stage hands during the performance, as the audience was programmed to ignore the figures dressed like that. Then they would leap out and interact with their target, "appearing out of nowhere".
Real Shinobi were far more like James Bond, with gadgets, disguises, and subterfuge, and very little like Naruto or other anime depictions.
Being killed by a real Shinobi was more likely to be: your tea was poisoned by one of your maids, a maid no one ever really took notice of, who suspiciously never showed back up to work.

Considering he's in Australia and our winter is their summer (and even their winter is barely a winter) it's gonna be a bit difficult to even attempt.
Not to mention ice is brittle and all but guaranteed to shatter on contact. A knife still has the problem, but not as bad. And for a video you kind of need the thing to last for at least a little bit.
Worst of all though will be sharpness. In order to sharpen it you kind of need to create friction. Which will make heat.
Which will melt the blade a bit. Which will make it dull.

    • @tagifras

Spends hours and money making sword mold, freezes water into ice sword overnight, handle starts to melt immediately and grip sucks, swings around a bit and does a few flourishes, edge is already dripping, swings at any object at all, breaks immediately.

maybe super chilling a sword right before use might have some effect on the strength of the metal but it would make it more brittle if anything.

Idea for a new sword world record...
Most Amount of Level Cuts done in under 1 minute.
Use a pool noodle, pool noodles, or any other cutting medium of your choice; and relentlessly cut it for 1 minute straight.
Once the time elapses, the contestant will sheathe their sword, and the judges will take a level to the cut material; checking the angle of each cut, whether horizontal or diagonal, to make sure the cut is properly level.
Cuts with tears/fraying/ripping in them will not be counted. And if the contestant switches mediums during the challenge (switching from pool noodles to tatami mats), the results will be invalidated.
The cutting medium needs to be consistant throughout the challenge (so if you use multiple pool noodles, they all need to be the same thickness), and the contestant must use the same sword throughout the challenge.
The shaprness of the sword will be measured at the beginning of the challenge, and if the contestant consents to use the sword at its measured level of shaprness, they take full responsibility for it; meaning that if the blade dulls over the duration of the challenge, the contestant will not be shown any leniency, and they will have to provide quality results with the defunct weapon.
There will be 2 categories for this Sword World Record, and these categories are NOT interchangable.
---> Most Amount of Level Cuts done under 1 minute with a Single Edged Sword.
---> Most Amount of Level Cuts done under 1 minute with a Double Edged Sword.
For the sake of clarity, when it comes to the context of this Sword World Record, the word "Sword" refers to any bladed weapon modeled after historical side armaments, whose form and function specializes in slashing and/or thrusting, and whose total length lies between 96cm and 81cm.
With that said... wouldn't it be cool if all the sword tubers put together their own sword world records?

    • @foldionepapyrus3441
      @foldionepapyrus3441 Месяц назад

Well in real time not yet knowing where the trick is going to be it can be hard to spot even pretty poorly done trickery - For instance T could probably cut a second or two out of his apple cutting just by deleting a variable number of frames through the whole thing, mostly speeding up the sheathing, a little bit on the draw perhaps. Just a very subtle speed up especially of the slowest moments so they become more fluid, which over 11 seconds of footage repeating the same sort of motion 5 times could easily claw you back a fair bit. That would be almost impossible spot if you can spot it at all even playing the video frame by frame once all the compression artifacts, motion blur etc get in the way, or he could do the same sort of trick that step too far, getting greedy on the time clawed back, at which point he might still look to be in a reasonable human motion range but if you actually have doubts you'd spot the evidence easy enough.

Probably because he's not actually allowed to own a legit sword...
There are a LOT of places with deep traditions of swordsmanship that no longer permit their citizens to own these types of weapons.
It's kind of ironic that the United States was founded well after the proliferation of guns (thus negating the necessity for swords for everyone, though they were still prevalent into the 19th century) without any fundamental traditions, yet also widely recognizes the right for people to own and CARRY swords...
Obviously some US states prohibit carrying swords/long fixed blades, but MANY still allow people to EDC swords.
And while I always carry AT LEAST a pistol on my person, I've wanted to carry some type of short sword as well. As long as it's highly maneuverable (well beyond the reach of someone carrying a big knife), I'd still love to get a decent sword for outdoors situations...and to simply practice the craft of swordsmanship.

5:17 the reason he's using a practice sword for the world records is because Guinness has a world record for using a real sword already, but they didn't have one for a practice sword, so he's setting the records for that specific type (they can be really picky about what you're using)

Did your attempt even get accepted? The Lilly family, that I am a part of broke the record for people in a family reunion by 12 people but the record people refused to show up to make an "official" documentation and actually stated they didn't want to insult the French Family that held and holds it in the book. From that point on I found many of those listed records only ever gets changed if someone is willing to pay for their staff's payroll, travel and expenses. Also they have already done several Bridge Day (New River span in WV on the state quarter) events that this reunion was planned in mind to increase the numbers with the local event, so the records people had lost interest in the area. White water and Scenery main attractions and local airport a small one and Yeager in Charleston WV an hour drive away also on the small side. Most the record setting seems sponsored by major money interest like Virgin (Branson), Red Bull and in major towns like NYC, Hong Kong, Tokyo, London etc. Not a little country town like Fayetteville WV in Fayette County WV that has a smaller county population than a single boroughs in Pittsburg PA or suburb of Columbus OH.

Just started the video and thought "oooh, that guy....", i see too many people claim that he's the real deal and that everyone else is just "jealous of his skill", because he's "actually a guinnes world record holder". EVEN THO YOU CAN SEE THE EDITING. I actually feel kinda insulted as a kenjutsu instructor when people tell me that i'm just jealous of that guys skill...
Edit: and ofc the light bamboo(?) sword to top it all of.
Edit no2: am watching further into the vid rn, it was a bamboo sword. I just assumed it in my first edit from what i saw visually. Good to know that i was right. Also, his "fastest humanly possible cuts" were incredibly slow due to his slow sheathing, especially for a lightweight, fake sword. He needs more practice with the sheathing motion.
For Tyranth, you can cut some time by getting a bit better at the sheathing as well. Once you're confident enough at it, you won't have to guide the whole blade with your hand, you can start further up the blade instead. You'll probably beat him quite easily, if you do that. And an actual world record in your name doesn't sound too bad if you ask me. (The motion also has to get a bit smoother, but you were probably just under pressure, since you tried to do it fast and it's more difficult to do without a belt)

For a world record you need to get the Guinness people to acknowledge it. So it is half about contacting the right people, half doing something impressive that they have yet recorded. Many people beat the world records all the time, it just isn't in front of the officials.

The funny about ninjas is they are so over hyped. The reality of a ninja is so much more underwhelming. They were peasant’s that couldn’t afford armour and so relied on killing through means like poison and murdering people in their sleep. Modern culture has made them something of legends for no real reason.
