This video is the beginners guide to copart uk, its for educational purposes as i believe copart can be a great place to shop for salvage cars but also a place to lose a lot of money, in this video i will cover the basics and give you top tips for searching and bidding on Copart.

thanks for adding this info for the viewers. the C traders are the worst imo as its people selling thought copart and get the most they often disguise the damage or try to hide it. the last C i bought was a bmw f10, i bided based on the damage i saw when it cant the airbags were al blown and covered with textured vinyl. i got f**ked as i paid way too much thinking the airbags were ok. also go see my rat infested build that was a C listed as "vandalism" completely destroyed by rats.

Only buy Cat S from insurance company, the lot number will have X after.
Never buy any Cat S from private sellers (have C or P on windscreen) often private sellers put cars back on they can't fix and hide damage to make it look better.
Unrecorded be very careful especially with non runners, engine problems people put them through without a key or disable starter so it won't start for Copart to check.
100 percent mate. Lernt that the hard way years ago. I said that in my Copart guide video. Great advice. I never buy P/C REGARDLESS OF CAT.

I got small note about the delivery charges ..I found that if you choose a private delivery then Copart he will add 40£ to ur invoice but when you delivered with them they will reserve the 40£ it’s under (Lot Retrieval) on the invoice..so when I calculated I found better to deliver with them!! Waiting for ur reply bro

What do you think of Cat X stolen/recovered minimal damage? I've seen a few cars that keep failing to sell and the main damage was listed as "vin replaced", so was wondering if worth buying?

If you deal in salvage stripping a car and selling the parts copart is a good place to go if your buying to fix and sell then your fingers will get burnt.

Hi bro just had a question . I have done some research and have not been able to find the answer to this question. Please answer if you can. If a car is category N and can be driven. As a private buyer can I drive the car away ? Can I drive away a car with minor body damage home after winning as a private buyer or do I HAVE to use a delivery service ? Thanks
BEWARE I purchased a 2015 A5 from my local Copart in Belfast, it had very light frontal damage and undercarriage damage. In the description it stated it was not running. When the A5 was delivered and I had my first chance to view it (because of covid we are still not permitted to view in person) I found that the plastic sump was smashed and the engine was seized solid, so it must have been run with no oil maybe around the Copart yard until it seized. When I asked Copart did they not know about the engine they said it was up to me to inspect the car??? How could I have done that when the yard is closed tto the public?? I was told I should have inspected the pictures, but the picture showing the undercarriage damage was very dark so didn't show the smashed sump. Be very careful when you have to rely on the Copart info and pictures.....

no it can have no damage youre not allowed to drive anything home, what you can do is go there and get a local company to drop it by the place to save money, they will still make you pay a lot though.

Quick question say you buy a car that’s road worth and you have the log book and MOT is valid, can you drive off with it provided that you’ve insured and taxed it?
Thanks, i use to do that all the time, train down to Copart, valid mot, trade insurance and tax it on the spot then drive home. But copart have a NEW rule that the car must leave their yard on a trailer/recovery truck. Or they wont release it.
What people do is hang around outside and pay a local or passing recover guy to just bring it out. Then drive away

Question if on the Auction a lot is listed as V5 Yes. Do Copart send the logbook off? Do they supply the V5C for new keeper to tax. When is V62 form used?
If its yes they will give u the logbook when u collect the car. Make sure u check as they “forget to give it” but it means the car comes with the logbook

Great info here. If V5 is not with the car, you say 6 weeks for a new log book does mean you've added an extra owner on the car? Or is there a way to get round this?
Yep thts right. What I do sometimes is take my buyer to the Postoffice and let them fill the v62 and tax the car at the same time, the I pay the fees and post it. Then the new logbook comes to them directly.
If you google vehicle enquiry and enter the ref, it will say if it can be taxed at the post office or not.
Great video I'm curious about stolen recovered in 2012 I had been paid out for my 06 Mk5 GT TDI 140 i was notified it had been found 3 or 4 months lay to my knowledge I don't think any damage was done I don't know what insurance company did with it as by chance from it being stolen my policy ran out before I was paid out, anyway are stolen recovered worth buying . thanks going enjoy your channel.

What are your views on engine start programs? Are they red flags or?
Engine start programs are good. It means the engine actually starts! Mostly likely there would have some suspension issues so the car won’t be able to drive. But trade it on Copart it a positive. Means the engine starts

Its a good thing means the car’s engine is starting and runnin. But the car isn’t able to drive. Normally see this when the car has suspension damages etc.

They are great but equally bad, they sell alot of doctored cars and you need to be careful when buying from them as they are only the middle men so will happily sell what ever car!

there ok, but will be headache to sell on. like imaging explaining to a buyer, i know it says stolen on the hpi check but its legit! lol. hard cos the marker will remain in the cars history and show on a hpi check.
