I think it works. It’s definitely trying to be a little different from a straight copy. And for the price…And I agree, there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to which watch gets sapphire and which don’t…🤷🏻♂️ thanks for the great review!
@@makoruah I'm glad you liked it. Yeah, I'm a softly spoken person, so that comes across in my videos too. I'm never going to be one of those overly excited loud RUclipsrs, for better or worse.
That case looks scary close to the San Martin SN0129 case. nice looking watch either way, but I'll take that other Addiesdive over this one, personally. thanks for the review, James! be well!
It's a sport watch. Not a diver, nor a dress watch. Same category as Rolex yachmasters, GMT masters, milgausses, air kings, Omega aqua terra, whole integrated bracelet lineup from varius manufacturers etc. 50-60 years ago "sport watch" means something else than contemporary, robust g-shock or garmin with pedometer, it was something to wear to gentlemans glub, golf course or a horse racings. To this day, this is the most diverse and popular category of watches.
@@LukeBhite That's true... But it does have a lot of things that you'd associate with a dive watch though. Including that 200m water resistance. Whereas most sports watches tend to have 100m water resistance. Not to mention all of the branding being very dive centric too.
Wanted to be excited about this watch, but they simply show that attention to small details still escape them. Logo on the dial is changed, but it's still present on the dial, clasp and caseback. Like what San Martin struggled with with respect to multiple logos a while back. That etching on the back is not comfortable - at least on the 1000m I had. I wish they had just left it sterile.
Isn't it the same with the Desert dial watches, that they charge more for the Italics font version than the Diver logo dito? Pricing on Chinese watches follow their own logic 😅
@@Will_E_Wonty It literally says "Deepsea Hunter" on the back, and in the description on the listing it's referred to as "the diving series". This is exactly the point I'm trying to raise... I don't think it's a diver either.
It’s an homage of a Grand Seiko. I got mine last week, love it!
@@rioriggs3568 Yes it is. That's good to hear.
The AD2065 has 19mm lugs and mineral crystal (its an adaption of the AD2030). Could easily have sapphire crystal (used in AD2023,AD2026).
@@bensynewsshoedown4999 Yeah it's an odd choice isn't it?

Thank you for making such a great video with the transitions and filming and editing styles. Just the audio is slightly softer

Thank you James. I like them both. No Sapphire kills me but it is just one thing.
@@drebarthelotte5712 This one has sapphire, so would you go for this over the other one then?
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I like them both. Prefer the one with mineral glass looks.
It’s a good looking and functional watch, however we try to categorize it. A dress diver, I guess 😊
I completely agree. I'd class it as a dress dive style watch too.

Waiting AD2065 from you 😅
@@senny_penny I'll see what I can do.
As for me the hour marks are too small. I think Cronos has the best marks particularly in this homage series. Even better than San Martin’s one
I wouldve loved it more with lumed hands and with other dial colours like blue or black
One of the most intriguing watch video titles I've seen, sir.
@@96kyh Thanks. Hopefully without being clickbait as well though.

It's a GMT/sports watch, nothing like a diver. Lots of pilot watches have 200m WR - they're not divers either!
