Great technique. Worked a treat on my genuine Rolex (at least the chap in the bar said it was genuine) to remove the spelling error (had stated Bolex). Just need to work out how to neaten up the new lettering; regret using a Sharpie.
I sometimes take a black sharpie and basically color the lettering or logo i don’t like in black ink. It’s still visible but it’s black and stealthy like. You can actually color the text or logo any color you want. I use a microscope and do it very carefully
I gave up on quartz watches because I just can't deal with having to replace the battery whenever needed so I now prefer the automatic watches even though they may not be as accurate as a quartz
@@lefevrealban I have 2 solar watches in 47mm both very nice one of them is atomic so it self adjusts every 12 hrs. if needed. I have heard of the capacitor lasting 10yrs and I even heard of one lasting longer, but there is no guarantee for the capacitor lasting "any" specific amount of time so you still have to deal with the replacement.. When they come out with one guaranteeing a capacitor for life then I might be interested. For now my daily wearers are 2 diver style automatics in 50mm that I shuffle wearing from one day to another knowing that a battery/capacitor will not need replacing
@LeadPhalanx-zv6wx Yes a capacitor might need a replacement but that will still be cheaper than a service for a mechanical watch, which is to be done every 5 years generally. That plus the added ruggedness of a quarts, I find that solar watches are the best do-it-all/beater watches.
Addiesdive sells Sterile and Personalized versions of some watches at their website. I wouldn't buy a sterile version but I can see the appeal with the personalized versions available.
I know these are cheap watches but I'd be concerned the heat might damage the crystal gasket and reduce the water resistance rating. I hate cyclops magnifiers so I understand why you do it. The cyclops on my Steeldive SD1953 are obnoxiously magnified!
Acetone might be too strong and strip the paint. Alcohol is strong enough. If you have to try it with acetone, test on the edge of the dial to see what happens.
👍👍 Good - I use a black permanent marker to make logos/writing less distinct too.

Stop lying you don't have a Rolex, you ain't that guy!
Bolex must be a very rare Breitling - Rolex collaboration special edition watch. Better than a Folex.
Yeah because every genuine rolex says fucking "bolex" on it

That sounds like a good idea too! I'll have to test it out sometime.
1st comment! Thanks for posting. I'm going to try this on my 1967 Rolex 1680 "Red" Submariner. I can't stand the red "SUBMARINER" text on the dial! 😀
Don’t do it will degrade the value of the watch
The 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That is toooo funny! Good one!!!!! For those that don’t know, that was a joke.
Eyeball cancer is funnier than that joke champ 🙄

That's why I love solar watches

@@lefevrealban Whatever dude I agree with LeadPhalanx its a personal thing he already gave an explination
Cool video!
Are you happy with the watch itself? Thinking about getting this one or the standard diver.
I like to watch. I like the Batman colors. Don’t use the gmt function much so the sub diver would’ve been too
@ my thoughts exactly. Thx!
this is a neat tricks
Boy that cyclops really popped right off for ya. Mine took a lot more heating.
I’ve had one watch where I literally had to use a chisel! a pagani Pepsi. But 99% of the time they just pop off.
great idea, thanks for sharing - Geoff from Merimbula Australia

Yeah I see they do it for the MY-H8 and H3AC. Good to see them offering this option. Hopefully they expand it to all their watches.

It didn’t get too hot and it was only a few seconds. But yeah I wouldn’t go diving with it myself.
@@KenVersus I may try it myself. I suppose if I was worried about the heat damaging the watch, I could remove the crystal first.
Good idea, looks much better without the wording.
Nah they are fine i own 3 addiesdive myh3 and all of them hav had the cyclops remove this way and theyve all been taken to the sea and no issues
Would nail polish remover work in the same way?
nail polish is acetone and might be too harsh
What is your experience with Aceton? I have heard that some did prefer that above Alcohol.
Acetone might be too strong and strip the paint. Alcohol is strong enough. If you have to try it with acetone, test on the edge of the dial to see what happens.
Today I learned that the cyclops magnifier was applied
Can you post a video on how to make and install your own logo
Here is my video about how to get custom logo made.

@kenvargas
Can you do this on my watch?
How much? Let me know ?
DM me if u don't mind.
From Canada
very cool and interesting.,
This is good knowledge for owners of Thorn watches and the infamous "Exploration Road" text; myself included 😅
Not that I would fool with any of my watches but nice to know that it can be done without ruining the dial.
Some names are indeed so weird, looking like a bunch of random letters, such as skrox, olevs.
I dont trust watches without logos. They just feel empty, odd-looking, like a shady guy trying to sell you drugs in an alleyway at 11 pm
WHY???
he explained why about 10 times
San Martin logo.
you can put lipstick on a pig, but it doesn't change the underlying watch lol.
He has no problem with pigs using lipstick, just didn't like the wording on the watch 😁
well-buy a no-logo watch on Aliex
Point me out in the direction of an ronda 515 gmt with no logos
Just Buy the unbranded version buddy
If you want a Sub, buy a Sub. There's never any "substitute".
Really? Because there are literally dozens of substitutes across amazon, aliex, ebay etc
$30 vs $10,000
