This episode we work over to Castle Sol to grab the 2nd half of the Haligtree medallion and take down Commander Niall. This area also has the Eclipse Shotel, one of the legendary Armaments needed for platinum. There's also quite a few field bosses including another mariner and deathbird to take out.
Just fyi for anyone looking you can buy his armor from the two fingers lady at the round table (if he didn't mention in vid) and there is a rune arc in the erdtree branchs I think on the w/sw side of tree.

Another thing are some runes at the graves when you jump down from Castle Sol (19:49). After you get the Smithy somber 8 don't jump down but go back to the left. There are a few birds but the graves don't have any monsters there. Kind of strange for the graves to not have monsters guarding them like the others. If you miss this you can just use the castle sol main gate grace to follow the castle wall going north and go around, getting the runes and the somber stone 8.
One "Smithing Stone 8" at 19:49 ----- Jump on top of the wall (backward to the ladder) and walk to North. On a corpse. Best Elden Ring walkthrough on the planet earth. TYSVM cowboy!
Thank god for your description. Someone else in the comments was like "yeah its behind the ledge you have to jump on then you do a backflip into the flux capacitor and hit R2 seven times and the piece of loot is on top of a charmander." I was like yo wtf but your description is easy to figure out.
There's also a sombering 8 behind the castle before you even go in the front gate. If you wrap around the back of the castle starting from the left, you will eventually reach a ledge with a sombering 8.
Watching the Ding Dong Mausoleum outplay FightinCowboy was pretty hilarious. First it takes forever to get the skulls off, then the grace resets it, then gets some of the skulls come off and it eventually steps on him.
@@SequinBrain he touched the Grace too quickly before the mausoleum death animation finished. That's why it reset. If you make sure that animation is done, you can rest at the Grace.
The message trolls are a different breed in this game. There was one saying to snipe Oleg so of course I pulled out my bow and popped him once only for him to appear behind me and pop his weapon art which killed me...fun times.
I did this as well but turned to run away to switch weapons and I was near the edge and he spawned behind me and fell all the way down and died. Didn't even have to fight him. I cheese them all like that now
It should probably be mentioned that the phantom banished knight in castle sol surrounded by the two dogs is one of the only two banished knights that drop the unaltered banished knight chest piece. very stylish high poise armor.
@19:49, while this is hard as hell to see, if you go right instead of going up the ladder, you can climb up the ledge of the castle wall like you did earlier, and it leads you to a somber 8. I only mention this for total completion. Excellent guide.
I read through a bunch of comments but see no mention of going left around the outside of Castle Sol. I found the Somber 8 I needed on a body atop a cliff visible from the grace out front. Love these videos!
Battle with the commander was over in about 10 seconds. Equipping graven school talisman and Lusats crown, I cast terra magica before entering and after entering used my wounderous flask with the 10 sec unlimited mana and then cast Comet Azur. Both summon came at me and both were hit along with my target, the commander. Wished I had videoed it. Glorious.
Thank you so much for this tip @Novaius Gaming!!! I have been trying for over and hour now. I just got em because I saw this comment. Thank you!! That dude was pissing me off
For the faith boys out there, I used the recently acquired blasphemous blade's taker's flames as an opening attack. Knocked him on his ass and spammed it a couple times. Thanks for the walk tips cowboy! (also had to evolve from a letter person before I could post haha)
I didn't see you grab it, but there is an additional smithing stone (8) in Castle Sol around 19:50 near the archers. Go right at the ledge, jump up and follow it. You then have to jump down to a super thin ledge which will lead to the loot. I can't remember if it's a somber or not though. You can see the loot originally where you fight the eagle. It's in front of a window directly across from where it's originally perched. Obviously not a big deal, but thought I'd mention it.
@@ace052330 Yeah, I think the scope of this game would make it impossible for him to grab every loot, but I think that's why people are shouting out the ones he's missed. He has made it a point to go bak and get any "major" loot items that he's missed. I also think that's why it's best to do your own playthrough first, where you can really take the time to explore every nook and cranny of the map. This walkthrough has been so much bigger in terms of work load and content that FC has ever done, but I think he's done a really great job. It's most certainly the best walkthrough you can find on Elden Ring.
@@ace052330 All the previous souls games are a lot smaller and a lot more linear. Cowboys sits there alone doing these vids, he said from the start that he could not get every single item, the game is gigantic. Even I have noticed a missed item here and there but come on. Cut the guy some slack, will you?
Tbh this castle is the most difficult area so far in the game for me. Most areas I breezed through but these knights just getting to the boss were tough. And I'm glad you gave a good tip on the boss because otherwise he was tearing me and my mimic up.
For those without a shield trying to fight Oleg in that cramped walkway, get ontop the building at 21:20. Hit him with a throwing knife or something, and he'll teleport over to you. Waaay more space to fight. If you get close to death, you can run off the building and drop by the door leading into it without taking damage. Heal up, buff, wait for him to notice and come down, finish fighting there.
You can actually cheese him. Instead of going around to the walkway and ladder, jump to the roof just before with the roof entrance. You can get on top of a corner pillar and I just zapped him repeatedly with comet azur and he stood around and instead of teleporting just died.
For those who like a little backstory about the jellyfish summon, there is a small grave behind the ruins where you found her sister. Go read the description of those tombs.
where exactly is this grave? I have run around this ruin for like 10 mins now and cant find it Edit: I found it, you should be more specific in saying that its down a cliff face. That way others don't run around the ruins for ages when it's not actually at the ruins at all
So with brother corhyn I think whether you offer him the potion of forgetfulness will determine where he ends up after the castle turns to ash. Even though he refuses it if you do offer it to him you’ll find him alone on the same bridge asking where the gold mask is. If you don’t offer it to him you’ll find him in the capital disillusioned with the gold mask and calling him a fraud. Either way you still get his armor and bell bearing after you reload. Just thought that was kind of interesting :p
If you like this you really ought to try Dark souls 1 and 3 as well. Dark souls 2 is not as good but still a good game. They all are a bit harder than Elden Ring but the general game mechanics and atmosphere are the same so, go for it.
Same i tried by myself and gave up... Same with Bloodborne and demon souls... Now ive platinumed demon souls and Bloodborne and now im back to elden ring because of these walkthroughs.
First time I’ve heard Cowboy try to cover up his weakness in this walkthrough series. Death bird: hits hard. Cowboy: Ummm, actually I’d rather focus on something else this episode. 😂. It was kinda cute tbh.
Before you leave the castle, go around it to the left for one more Sombering 8. You ride all the way around the castle, there's a lot of crafting mats on the way, and 2 birds you can pull to fight alone.
I don't know why, but whenever Cowboy sees danger and says, "oh no" (around 36:20 or so in this video), the way he says it, that's one of the funniest things to me; I can't help but laugh.
This strat works if your patient and does not require using the twigs or even a summon... those of you who want an actual strategy for beating this boss...keep your distance and wait for 2 attacks, one where he charges at you and one where is jumps in the air. Following these attacks he will use his weapon once, and that is your opportunity to strike ONE time , then back away and create distance again....repeat baiting . waiting for those 2 attacks. When he stomps his foot on the ground he will do his charge attack, so roll dodge and strike once. Same thing with the move where he jumps in the air and lunges towards you.
I hit my first brick wall in the game against Commander Niall. I just couldn't DPS his phantoms quickly enough. After about 18 attempts somebody told me about the bewitching branch strategy and it made such a huge difference.
Bro I just use any special ashes with multiple allies to wear him down while I throw glintstones at him. Annoying as hell to fight by myself, and yet too easy when I use summons. 😂
I found that Greyoll's Roar Incantation not only knocked the Knights down in War Dead Catacombs, but actually killed some of them (it varies so I guess it depends on how close they are). I tried it on Oleg 20:15 and it did knock him back but it only took maybe 1/8th of his health. He then teleported behind me before I could hit him again. That's when I just ran for the Medallion, grabbed it, then jumped off the edge which was low enough to survive the fall. Having no success with the first banished Knight in front of the church, I ran past him and grabbed the Grace but he still killed me as I was trying to sit at it. Once inside the Church, I lured him into the doorway and was able to take him down with one blast of Comet Azur as he didn't have room to dodge it this time. I didn't have to use the Bewitching Branch for the boss fight, as his 2 Knights died surprisingly easy with a Comet spell each as they ran toward me, and once the Boss was busy with my Mimic it was just a matter of giving him a taste of Comet Azur.
For those strruggling with oleg - roll forward through his attacks, if you roll backwards or to the side he hits you almost everytime. I dropped the shield and tossed on my highest dps heavy weapon i had w/ sword dance and got him with two sword dances and two regular hits, and electrify armament as a buff. I died like 5 times trying to power stance blood loss spears and then died trying to shield bro him, just two handed a heavy ftw.
Crazy he was harder for me then the boss of this area. I went through it blind and didn’t die once. Watched this vid to see what I missed. Even seeing cowboy fight him first giving me the upper hand Oleg was tougher 😄
Learned this tactic from a video on Reddit. Oleg automatically teleports behind you when hit with anything at a distance. Before reaching him, drop down to the right (where the ladder to the rats is located) take care of the ghost with the crossbow, go to the far left wall where you can see Oleg down below you. Hop on the wall. Go to the highest, smallest, wall pillar and hit him with a dagger. Quickly, lock off and face away from him. The second he gets hit and sees you, he will teleport behind you so be quick. The platform you are on is too small and he will fall to his death.
@11:25 turn left at the top of the ladder. You’ll see the body hanging off the ledge. You can shoot the first ballista from this spot. Use a pulley bow and the two Bow & arrow talismans.. The guy throwing fire pots can be taken out right before the wooden walkway in the same manner.
There is indeed one more death bird at the far end of the Consecrated Snowfield. That one is crazy. I didn't notice it until my third playthrough and it gave me far more trouble than Malenia did.
Love ur walkthroughs. The fingerprint shield has completely changed the way I play this game. I carry it and my bhfang. Put shield crash on the shield. I can't tell you how many bigger enemies/mini bosses I've just straight bullied and embarrassed w that thing. I'm untouchable
On my first playthrough commander niall absolutely destroyed me many times. The bewitching branch makes the fight a lot easier although I wasnt aware of it on my first run at the boss.
Hmm both these comments are interesting. I never thought of trying the branch lol. That's a good idea if you take on the boss alone, wish I'd thought have it. Also, I never thought I'd see Niall being someone's hardest boss... but before Maliketh and Malenia, Astel was my hardest boss; so I'm one to talk lol. No one's worse than Malenia 1v1 though. Niall himself is a breeze, but those knights can certainly be tough. But a strength or quality build, with a heavy weapon, trivializes those knights. Mages will hate this fight though, I'd guess
20.57 if like me you are not good at blocking, then just run for the amulet, grab it and drop down near to castle entrance. Oleg didn’t follow me and you only get 2k runes if you manage to kill him. Not worth dying over and over again for. 🙄 Struggling with the fricking knights too. Thought I was near invincible following these guides, but Elden Ring just gets tougher and tougher.
Have enjoyed this walkthrough greatly. My first souls game. I watched the first 10 or so episode before i did it myself, but then took the approch of doing game first, then watching yours vid to see what i missed. Got to say after reading comments on how hard castle Sol, i smoked Niall and his knights, and the deathbird with my quality build bloodhound fangs and mimic.
I went to fight the Death Bird (at the 3 min mark) and I went forward North down below to avoid his attacks. Apparently the game doesn’t recognize that as a fighting area, because he took a nose dive and killed himself! I was in disbelief. I guess chalk it up as an accidental cheese!
ive noticed pretty much everyone encounters an elite or world boss cheese themselves off the exaggerated "souls-like" cliffs these games tend to have at least once per playthrough
@ 20:15 Oleg is super easy with any shield. Just circle around and backstab. 2 back stabs with a good critical weapon and you are good. Of course that took me 5 deaths to figure out.
I'm having kind of a build crisis atm. I'm going faith/arcane and was looking forward to blasphemous blade that we got couple episodes back. It's good don't get me wrong; getting health back and its weapon art are obviously great, but it feels a little stubby compared to my power stance scythes. The holy damage and bleed from the scythes just works for my build so well.
The Jellyfish sisters are so sad. After reuniting them, if you reset world state and go back to the very east point of the cliff, you can find their graves where it says they never did see the stars :(
Ain't going to lie, I usually look at the title of the video and run ahead, but I started watching this one and saw he was whacking at the turtle and I was like Boy that bell crap needs to go and I decided it was time to die. Boy was I wrong, it stepped on me. So I loaded back in, picked up my runes and whacked away. Started watching the video and joy came to my heart, I wasn't the only one to die like that. We'll pretend like you took one for the team. Thanks, now I know what is like if Godzilla was to step on me.
17:42 you can super cheese Niall fr that balcony by hitting him with arrows through the hole in the wall. If they didn't want you to cheese him like that, they shouldn't have put that hole there 🤣🤣🤣
It very difficult to see, but it's still in there. I saw someone post about it the other day. You have to get up on the railing, and shoot arrows through a tiny hole in the wall. It partially aggros him, and sometimes he walks up to the wall and you have to hit his head over the wall Personally these days, I prefer the bewitching branch method. Just run straight in through the fog, and hit his first summons with bewitching branch. As they attack that one, circle around and hit the other one. As he kills the last summons, pop your own summons, and then it's 2v1
Thanks, I messed up my bewitching branches, I play offline but got lucky and they had the free online day so got some awesome help to defeat him. Was worried his name was Fart Knocker or somthing like that but he kicked ass@@mikeredding4667
I beat commander Neil first time when using the branches. This is my 2nd playthrough. In my first playthrough this guy was one of the toughest fights in the whole game. FC’s knowledge of this game constantly staggers me 👏👏👏
If you plan on using dragon ice continuously, I would recommend using a different buff than blood flame since any fire attack instantly gets rid of frostbite
Hardest Boss in Elden Ring: Mausoleum. But seriously. That's Elden Soulsborne in a nutshell. You take an enemy not serious, he kills you over and over. Love it
Finally got the Death Bird by letting my mimic fight him until mimic died while I went up top of cliff and spammed him with arrows. Difficult as it kept moving but got it in the end. Left a message where to spam him which is out of reach of his frost etc
LMFAO at resetting the walking mausoleum. I did that myself the first time I was here. I also agree that they're a cool mechanic, but generally annoying AF, so I always try to handle them as quickly as possible. Ever since doing this, I always make sure they sit down, and I open the door before hitting a grace
for everyone who struggles with the death birds in the future here is 1 thing i found to kill them easy get on horse lock on them and get in their face then run circle around them hiting them with a greatsword type weapon (like the bloodhund fang) they wont he u much and if they do mostly will be torrent stepping on fiery ice also keep in mind to heal torrent becouse if he goes down u get knocked and then u wont have a good time (u can heal him with just drinking estus too) anyway hope this helps with this anoying birds

20:21, if you are frustrated with that knight just use bolt of gransax's skill to cheese the knight, it gets knocked down and by the time it recovers you'll be ready with another charged ancient lightning spear.
am I the only one, who when you get to a point like this in a game. no matter how much you love it, you start rushing towards the end. took me like 100 hours to get this far then I basically rushed my way to radagon from this point
Yupp lmao made sure to get my build at 100% of what I wanted it to be at, then its bum rush to all the final bosses, which in itself is a massive grind
I have the opposite problem with Fromsoft games. I always love the early and mid-game, but as the late game becomes more punishing, I start to slow down and take more breaks because *stress*. xD

Sacred blade absolutely melts these deathbirds. I was burning rune arcs like crazy on my first play through trying to kill the late game deathbirds with just melee. I slapped sacred blade onto my golden stars and watched those things just wither away.
I just found two Somber smithing stone 8s, one is from the main outside grace, go around Castle Sol on the left and follow it all the way around until you some coffins and also two stormhawks, just past them on a ledge overlooking the first grace is a somber stone 8. Another one is on the west side of the church of eclipse on a ledge. Go left around the church of eclipse and jump onto the ledge on the west side of the church, follow the ledge and there is another somber stone 8.
26:28 for casters, banished knights didn't like glacial ice at all. dropped like a bad song. does Oleg do that frostbite double-sword pinwheel move when we summon him? that would be sweet! Had an idea, tested it, it works: use any dragon breath on the mausoleum legs, the barnacles come off w/out risk of getting stepped on. 37:56 no exp/runes at all for killing the giant skeleton around here.
At castle sol, when you come out of the church and before getting on the ladder for the knight ingval, turn right on the edge of the broken wall and continue till the end, where you can actually reach the church entrance but on the other side of the wall to get a Somber 8.
@@andrewprimero100 from I think you can only summon the Jellyfish near the Jellyfish sister in the ruins. If you've already summoned a spirit there, send them away, quit to menu and come back and you will be able to summon again. I'm pretty sure there's no summoning near the grave. Just in the ruins.
One way of handling the ballista guys is to pop them with an arrow. They suddenly decide they wanna be John Wick and abandon the explosives ballista to come after you with a regular crossbow you can easily block.
This, Hail of Arrows weapon art also spawns from the sky directly above them & nails them, which helps a lot bc some are hard to aim through walls right there
I wanted to do Commander Niall without summons and without the branch item. Took probably around 30 attempts, definitely a tricky fight, but I feel pretty accomplished.
Branches?? Lol what are those? I play as a frost mage & w a summon Bosses are not too tough w Azurs Comet But my next play through I want dual katanas or pole arms or maybe shield & something not sure what’s more fun
Actually FC does miss exploring round the back of Sol Castle. Circle clockwards around the castle (go left from the castle entrance grace). There is some rune loots from another group of graves, 2 birds to kill and more importantly a Somber 8 Stone on the ledge just the 2 birds.
The Mariner was easy to snipe from the cliff side, but this Deathbird kept 1-shotting me with frost, even though I was mounted and riding away. I kept dying every time I got close enough to cast spells. He would turn around in my direction every time. Lately, I also noticed my Mimic just standing around and not doing anything until I'm fully engaged in a fight and sometimes about to die, then I'll see him cast some spells at the end. They changed something in the game; guess they thought we had it too easy.
@@Based_investor Mine is tough enough for boss fights, but the problem lately is waiting for him to grab all the aggro. Deathbird just wasn't as interested in him as me.
@@st8kout961 against Commander Niall mine spent the whole fight running into & swinging at the wall trying to fight an enemy outside the boss area. They went overboard nerfing its ai. When it actually fights its really good but usually I'm better off with Tiche.
@@Based_investor Oh, the Mimic is even worse now. In my last boss fight in Consecrated Snowfields, he didn't cast one single spell until the words, "You Died" showed up on my screen. Not kidding. I had tried Tiche but even though maxed out not only didn't survive the fight, but failed to keep all the aggro on her. The boss was killing both of us at the same time.

When I found out that jellyfish spirits are actually children waterfalls non stop :( Thank you for this brilliant work big HELPP man I used to hate castle sol you made it easy.
I really like this guide, glad I found it. But why did he make the Fingerprint shield into a fire version? Because it reduces physical damage from 100% to 95%, so you are always taking 5% chip damage and also it weakens guard boost from 87 to 81. I have not watched the full series, so maybe I missed the explanation, but it seems like you are weakening it unless you only plan to use it for fire negation. Reason?
Did anyone else have Elden Ring backtrack their progress/save around this spot of the game? I had to redo episode 64 because Elden Ring (or my PS5) didn’t save properly. Hoping this isn’t a common issue
Those Bewitching branches were a pain in the ass. Just focus on the 2 knights from a distance as your summon is fighting them and ounce they're gone do the same for the boss. Key note only attack the boss from behind cause it deals tons of damage to him and don't get too greedy cause his attacks hurts.
I could not figure out the bewitching branch, so instead I blasted on of his knights with Comet Azur, finished him with Moonveil, then blasted the other knight while summon mimic kept boss busy. Once the knights were gone, the boss was easy peasy.

Thank man this is so helpful
Another thing are some runes at the graves when you jump down from Castle Sol (19:49). After you get the Smithy somber 8 don't jump down but go back to the left. There are a few birds but the graves don't have any monsters there. Kind of strange for the graves to not have monsters guarding them like the others. If you miss this you can just use the castle sol main gate grace to follow the castle wall going north and go around, getting the runes and the somber stone 8.
You are amazing. By far the best comment ever. Thanks
One "Smithing Stone 8" at 19:49 ----- Jump on top of the wall (backward to the ladder) and walk to North. On a corpse.
Best Elden Ring walkthrough on the planet earth. TYSVM cowboy!
Sombering 8 ;)
but thanks anyway buddy
ah, jump from top of ladder on to tarp below then jump to side of building and go to other side
Good find thx
Watching the Ding Dong Mausoleum outplay FightinCowboy was pretty hilarious. First it takes forever to get the skulls off, then the grace resets it, then gets some of the skulls come off and it eventually steps on him.
Fast forwarding through that after I took it down first try and catching that was hilarious
just did that area, the grace didn't reset the mauso, so maybe they patched it or he got a bugged version.
@@SequinBrain he touched the Grace too quickly before the mausoleum death animation finished. That's why it reset. If you make sure that animation is done, you can rest at the Grace.
I was just glad to see I'm not the only one to get stepped on/killed by one of those things. If it can happen to Cowboy, can happen to anyone
@@richfray5181 thx, yeah, I was wondering, cuz mine didn't get back up after I got it to sit. that thing is annoying as hell though like he said.
32:30, if you wrap around the erdtree there's a rune arc on one of the branches facing the cliff.
Damn that was not easy to find - thanks
Man I needed one of these thanks for the top
The message trolls are a different breed in this game. There was one saying to snipe Oleg so of course I pulled out my bow and popped him once only for him to appear behind me and pop his weapon art which killed me...fun times.
I fell victim to that my first time also.
Who's the other?
@@genbelisarius7780 pretty sure it’s the dual wielding guy also in Castle Sol. He’s a bit more off the beaten path and personally a tougher fight.
ahh... so now I know what item dropped and is stuck in the middle of air lol
Glorious.
ty, worked like you said
Love how there always a way to cheese all boss fights.
If you're having trouble with the knight at 20:17 try using an Ironjar Aromatic. dude couldnt stunlock me so i could ACTUALLY fight him lol.
Thank you so much for this tip @Novaius Gaming!!! I have been trying for over and hour now. I just got em because I saw this comment. Thank you!! That dude was pissing me off
Thank you dude killed him in first try with iron jar .. that guy was not giving me space to breathe ... Bastrad
For the faith boys out there, I used the recently acquired blasphemous blade's taker's flames as an opening attack. Knocked him on his ass and spammed it a couple times. Thanks for the walk tips cowboy! (also had to evolve from a letter person before I could post haha)
I don't even know what that is 😅 I just used my greatshield and beat him quickly
Wow! That worked great!
The BEST Elden Ring walkthrough. It’s helped me through massive chunks of this game!
Hey man just wanna say thank you, I recently started playing Dark Souls after beating Elden Ring and your videos on DSR have helped a lot
Nothing triggers me more than FC saying a boss is easy we’ll have no trouble and then I proceed to die 50+ times…. SMH
this was recorded pre-nerf for quite a few things, so I'm sure that doesn't help.
Agreed lol
Tbh this castle is the most difficult area so far in the game for me. Most areas I breezed through but these knights just getting to the boss were tough. And I'm glad you gave a good tip on the boss because otherwise he was tearing me and my mimic up.
I’m currently getting rammed in the ass by this boss 😂 on attempt number 20 already
@@hodge996If you've already beaten Rykard Blasphemous blade is the best weapon in the game and it trivializes most bosses and mobs
🤣😂🤣 Right?! Me AND MIMIC getting our asses WHOOPED ! They were gang banging on us 🤣😂🤣
For those without a shield trying to fight Oleg in that cramped walkway, get ontop the building at 21:20. Hit him with a throwing knife or something, and he'll teleport over to you. Waaay more space to fight. If you get close to death, you can run off the building and drop by the door leading into it without taking damage. Heal up, buff, wait for him to notice and come down, finish fighting there.
Tried this and beat Oleg on first try. Before that, died like 17 times. Thanks for the tip.
This!
Ty. Easier to fight him with a shield this way too
You can actually cheese him.
I have run around this ruin for like 10 mins now and cant find it
Edit: I found it, you should be more specific in saying that its down a cliff face. That way others don't run around the ruins for ages when it's not actually at the ruins at all
It's heart breaking. 🙁
Favorite little side story in the game.
@@jgphantom6 fr had me running for like 5 minutes he needed to be more specific smh but thanks man you actually helped me getting there
14:23 go straight and to the right and there is a piece of loot there on the ledge I believe. I did miss the hawkeye axe though.
Thanks so much for getting me here! This is my first "souls" game and I would have bailed long ago without your great walkthroughs.
What’s the most difficult enemy in Elden Ring?
Cowboy: the wandering mausoleum at Castle Sol 😂
Actually, I think it’s gravity, but that walker is a close second. Hahah😅
First time I’ve heard Cowboy try to cover up his weakness in this walkthrough series.
Death bird: hits hard.
Cowboy: Ummm, actually I’d rather focus on something else this episode. 😂.
It was kinda cute tbh.
Anyone struggling with Erdtree boss. Hop on horse and throw volcanic pots. Melts after 4-5 pots. Wish I would have found this out earlier!
Never fuck with an old man who can make his swamp Ferrari do wheelies
Before you leave the castle, go around it to the left for one more Sombering 8. You ride all the way around the castle, there's a lot of crafting mats on the way, and 2 birds you can pull to fight alone.
The greatbow leveled up does a crazy amount of damage with a quality build. Especially w through and through ash of war
The struggle to bring down a mausoleum is real sometimes haha. Patience is a virtue Cowboy
Ty rolling forward did the trick
great advice
@Naverius Cheesing Dark souls/Bloodbourne/Eldenring bosses is accepted by everyone I think. sometimes they are just insane. :)
FCB is THE go to guy for anything Fromsoft. :)
that was ment as a reply to Connor Burton below. :P
Go behind castle sol by left side get some runes in graveyard somber smithing stone 6 or 8 on corpse before you drop down to front of castle
not knowing that boss trick made commander neil the most rage inducing fight ive ever had i wish i saw this first haha
Totally. Without those branches, Niall was my hardest boss in the game (including all optional bosses).
Mages will hate this fight though, I'd guess
do crystal knives work on them like they watchdogs or does that just work on those enemies?
They are actually called bitching branches
@@talkingmudcrab718 which are the watchdogs? I assume they’re not dog dogs…are those the gangly guys that move kinda Like vorgt of the boreal valley?
Same happened to me!
@@artvas9611 Really? That’s awesome, I hate those damn Death Birds!
@@frankhuizar9171 bro fr! The final death bird is a pain in the ass
Lol, nice. Sometimes accidental cheese are knows as silent deadlies.
@ 20:15 Oleg is super easy with any shield. Just circle around and backstab. 2 back stabs with a good critical weapon and you are good. Of course that took me 5 deaths to figure out.
Essential Elden Ring walkthrough content as always. Apologies but I laughed out loud when the mausoleum killed you 😂
Just so you know, Glintstone Arc works wonders knocking the skulls off the Mausoleums 😉
If they didn't want you to cheese him like that, they shouldn't have put that hole there 🤣🤣🤣
Not seeing what you are talking about, do you think they patched this? Not sure how to see Niall from the balcony
It very difficult to see, but it's still in there. I saw someone post about it the other day. You have to get up on the railing, and shoot arrows through a tiny hole in the wall. It partially aggros him, and sometimes he walks up to the wall and you have to hit his head over the wall
Personally these days, I prefer the bewitching branch method.
FC’s knowledge of this game constantly staggers me 👏👏👏
I managed to get through the entire castle and the boss without resting! Thank you Cowboy!
If you plan on using dragon ice continuously, I would recommend using a different buff than blood flame since any fire attack instantly gets rid of frostbite
Fire attacks reset ice debuff so you can reapply it for more damage.
The golden mask guy wasnt on the bridge. I've been following all your walkthroughs. What did I miss?
Me to have you figured out how to fix it?
I use your videos so much, you never miss anything and you make it look so easy! I appreciate you!
Cowboy just said nope. haha. It was a hard one. As usual, the answer is also bloodhound step and run when it starts shaking still
LMFAO at resetting the walking mausoleum. I did that myself the first time I was here. I also agree that they're a cool mechanic, but generally annoying AF, so I always try to handle them as quickly as possible. Ever since doing this, I always make sure they sit down, and I open the door before hitting a grace
Hahaha! I love how goldmask is just T-posing.
for everyone who struggles with the death birds in the future here is 1 thing i found to kill them easy get on horse lock on them and get in their face then run circle around them hiting them with a greatsword type weapon (like the bloodhund fang) they wont he u much and if they do mostly will be torrent stepping on fiery ice also keep in mind to heal torrent becouse if he goes down u get knocked and then u wont have a good time (u can heal him with just drinking estus too) anyway hope this helps with this anoying birds
Almost to platinum!
The Death Bird is truly impossible. Down to TWO Rune Arcs now. F that bird. Can’t beat him at level 185. 28:08

20:21, if you are frustrated with that knight just use bolt of gransax's skill to cheese the knight, it gets knocked down and by the time it recovers you'll be ready with another charged ancient lightning spear.
Bro, you're amazing, without you I'd be kicking rocks in Limgrave
am I the only one, who when you get to a point like this in a game. no matter how much you love it, you start rushing towards the end. took me like 100 hours to get this far then I basically rushed my way to radagon from this point
same thing. but also believe the last areas are far less interesting with the exception of heligtree and maybe tumbling dice!
Yupp lmao made sure to get my build at 100% of what I wanted it to be at, then its bum rush to all the final bosses, which in itself is a massive grind

It does. Took out that thing in about 1 minute first time. It just gives you distant AOE with some good damage. Also used it on the Mariner.
If you guys struggle with oleg you can use the bewitching thing he mentioned and no longer attacks and just lets you attack/back stab him
Actually can use this to your advantage after frostbite procs it can be removed and done again faster :)
Close to the ruins you can find a couple of graves of the Jellyfish sisters. Says they never saw the stars.
If you haven't found out summon your jellyfish near it for a treat
Excuse me I can’t summon the jellyfish did I do something wrong

Bosses are not too tough w Azurs Comet But my next play through I want dual katanas or pole arms or maybe shield & something not sure what’s more fun
@@dansimmonds9463 Most bosses won't stay still for Comet Azur, but Stars of Ruin always takes them down fast.
28:47 The Deathbird didn't appear for me
You killed him somewhere else. Check your inventory or box for the spear.
It's kind of funny to me how the bloodhound fang goes right through the character as you're riding around. "Oh geez, I've been impaled"
Pro tip: Bleed works extremely well on Commander Niall
You're summons did all the work on the Erdtree Avatars.
The whole purpose of the walkthrough is to simplify this to where your geriatric grandfather could do it.
Love them content dude!
It's getting to the point I can't even use it anymore
They did an ai lobodomy on him. I then used Omenkiller Rollo who immediately ran toward the boss as soon as he spawned, and kept him busy so I could run to one side and kill it with Comet Azur. I had tried Tiche but even though maxed out not only didn't survive the fight, but failed to keep all the aggro on her. The boss was killing both of us at the same time.
Just realizing after my second playthrough that you can down the mausoleum’s and use the remembrances you copy, for free runes if you dont need any of their boss ~quip. Blasphemous is 50k runes just for smacking his legs for a minute. Best rune “farm” 😅
I know we still got a few more vids but I’m appreciating the time watching your videos for now! Ty for all the work
The death bird jumped off the hill after me and killed itself lol never had that before
As of v.1.09.1 the Death Ritual Spear has improved weapon art, projectile goes out faster.
Hey btw you can use the bewitching branch on Oleg. Makes it so much easier.
Wow I'm confused at the death bird scene 30:30 area....I'm in the right place but he didn't show up for me day or night ....weird
Well I looked in chest I must have gotten this somewhere else the death ritual spear...I didn't fight the bird here, didn't appear for me oh well...I love your guides
You probably beat it when cowboy went to it the first time. Cowboy ran away and then came back later in the episode.
When I found out that jellyfish spirits are actually children waterfalls non stop :(
Thank you for this brilliant work big HELPP man I used to hate castle sol you made it easy.
Yeah, recently lost 12 hours due to the same issue
Those Bewitching branches were a pain in the ass. Just focus on the 2 knights from a distance as your summon is fighting them and ounce they're gone do the same for the boss. Key note only attack the boss from behind cause it deals tons of damage to him and don't get too greedy cause his attacks hurts.
I could not figure out the bewitching branch, so instead I blasted on of his knights with Comet Azur, finished him with Moonveil, then blasted the other knight while summon mimic kept boss busy. Once the knights were gone, the boss was easy peasy.
