What's up everyone...
This video is part two of adding a "Scuf Style" back button to a PS5 Controller. I also replaced the stock analog sticks with a set of offset clear ones and they worked out great!. As always, let me know what you think in the comment section and let me know the mods you want to see next???

Thanks for this video. I previously modded my ps4 controller using the extremerate kit but got bored tonight and wanted to add paddles to my ps5. I added 2 buttons (X & O) right under the battery. Pretty straightforward.

ah yes I remember trying this on a ps4 controller when I was a bit younger and messed up the hole. Lol your the one got me into modding controllers and now I be doing all kind of crazy shit. haha
Great job, its good you didnt add the extra for slide cancel (which is completely pointless itself) but rather a proper functional extra.
2 questions. Did you have to do anything with the cut wires from rumble packs? Also did you solder the wires to the board or just glue? How to I find button? THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR MAKING THIS VIDEO

I need this for L3 R3 I can’t stand pushing the stick button. Good video, I did this with a PS4 controller but not sure if I trust a PS5 controller yet.
the ps5 haptic feed back is why we want modded ps5 controllers though, lol

Thanks for the video. Great work. I am going to try this but with smaller momentary switch. Will do either 2 or 4 like I have on my ps4 controllers. Been frustrated as ps5 Fortnite is much better the ps4 version but really hard to play without back buttons. Will let you know results once done.

You added the soldering points for the buttons within the video but only one point for a ground wire. Can you post up a picture or a link to a picture with all the button soldering points and their respective grounds? Please and thank you. Great stuff!!!

1st I want to thank you for the video, very useful and clear and It will definitely help me adding back buttons to my PS5 controller.
I have one question regarding the L3 button. I like to have my left back button associated with L3 button but I want to know if you have an idea on the location of the connection point for the L3 button?

How did you connect the switch to power bc i couldnt see bc of the glue
I tried doing this myself but for some reason my controller recognises im pressing x botton non stop but im not really pressing anything, thoughts?

@@Lewis-fr9mu it was grounded correctly, in fact i bought a controller with the modification, it worked for 3 weeks and then it stopped working, i opened the controller but the cables corrrsponding to x and o had detached from the board, i put them back together and thats what happened, ground cables did not detach and i didnt modify any of them.
I love modding controllers like this. How do you find the points on the mother board where you glue the end of the wire at?

Quick question, will my board be fine if those tiny rectangular points for each button happen to come off 😅 I had a couple break off when the solder wire spread too much and made contact with the neighboring pin

What size drill bit did you need to fit the Buttons in? and did you have to fiddle with it or did it just fit?

aren't there any good buttons but much more flat on the market? May be something flat that you can stick on the surface and only drill a little hole for the wires?

How hard would it be to add a button to the top.
I have never liked the buttons on the back so have normally installed them onto the top similar to the Razer Raiju's M1 and M2 buttons.
How easy would this be on the ps5 controller.

I know you said a new vid is coming soon but was wondering if it's possible to transfer the back 4 micro switch PCB of a Scuf Impact to the DS5 and still use EMR?
I bought a busted Scuf with EMR and changed out the main internal PCB for an Original DS4 V2 and it works like new, with EMR too.
Still waiting on my DS5 so I don't know how much space there is but I'd love to add paddles to it and copy the Impact design.
Short answer is NO! I wouldn’t trust any electronics inside the new controller that were not made for it... also the inside of the new controller is a lot more cramped giving you fewer options for modification

As soon as you said you removed rumble packs you lost me. Too crucial to remove.
That’s why it’s good to have more than one controller. People don’t normally use vibration in FPS games
I drop my rumble whenever I play fps. I get wanting it for games like the last of is and other games that are more story driven or even cod campaign. But for FPS where every shot you miss can cost you the game it's good to take the rumbles out. Vibrations are costly in an FPS.

I don’t currently but I have been thinking about it since these new controllers are a bit tricky to work on... I am going to be posting 2 new builds once my parts come in and I’ll see which I like best and we might start offering them for purchase... stay tuned!
