Hi! I’m a 21 year old Italian girl andI’ve been taking Zoloft (50 mg) for three months now. I suffered from severe depression, anxiety and binge eating.
I constantly isolated myself from people and my life was a nightmare so I finally dedicate to take this medication.
I feel so much better and I’m socialising a lot more than before. I feel like I’m living my life.
I surprisingly lost a lot of weight, maybe because I stopped binging all day.
    Mental health is so important.

Taking it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever done.
I’m finally restarting to have a social life and it’s amazing.
I’ve seen concerts, went to parties and went out with my friends after a long time always isolating myself.
Let me know about your journey with Zoloft. I wish you the best

Bothell Guy, How are you now ? If taking ADS avoid benzos as they are addictive. If prescribed then stick to the lowest mg of only one ADS to prevent side effects. To feel better reduce negative thoughts and overthinking. Your breathing is closely related to the brain [mind] and gives good relief from stress-anxiety. To relax sit on a chair or lie down, neck straight, eyes closed and observe the sensations of your incoming--outgoing breath at the entrance of the nostrils for 5-10-15 minutes or more. Don’t fight your thoughts. With daily practice the mind will relax. No deep breathing needed. Observe your breath sensations when taking a walk, before sleep, at work, in the kitchen, when reading, etc-anywhere-anytime. . Like me, make this a lifetime daily habit to have a better life. Reduce negative social media, take morning sunlight walks and avoid constipation as it affects the mind instantly. Best wishes--Counsellor.

She’s so right in this video… I am super fit and super spiritual and nothing can replace a real chemical imbalance. Meds are meds and sometimes meds are needed. You can’t even access a certain level of spirituality if you have a chemical imbalance. Like - you wouldn’t treat diabetes with meditation. Same difference.

Antidepressants can be so helpful in the short term. However they also come with potential risks and side effects. Also, as someone who was on antidepressants for years, I ask that you consider this: one day, you may need to come off these drugs. Like all psychotropic drugs, your body/brain will soon change to accommodate that drug. Physiologically, SSRIs change your brain and cause dependency. Most doctors dont talk about this stuff or inform their patients of how difficult deprescribing can be.
I think psych meds can be amazing tools to pick us up when we're stuck in a rut. However, long-term use is uncharted territory.

Love you, Sarah. I probably had to watch about 30 of your videos (and Alex Robb’s) before I could bring myself to even trying one or two doses. When nothing bad happened, then I worked up the courage to try it at a super low dose, like 12.5% strength. Then I guess nothing really bad happened so I tried 25% strength. Now I’m up to 50% strength of the lowest dose. But according to some research, I’m at full strength (which is half of what was prescribed).

There's one I haven't seen mentioned in the comments and I'm sure others have thought it but they're afraid of the backlash but I'm so glad that you are so calm. So what I'm trying to say Is that (as someone who's just gotten it prescribed myself) it seems like most people on the internet have this become their personality, the way they speak is jolty and just ... Weird and it's like you can ALWAYS tell they're on some sort of medication and I don't want that, I want to be able to live a normal, and personally reserved about being on medication, no one has to know no one needs to care, I don't want it to show I'm on something because at least for me, that wouldn't improve my life.

I'm on 25 mg of sertraline due to depression and anxiety. Today is the first week. The only side effect I'm worried about is that eventually I might get ED or lack of libido (I'm not into that issue yet, but I'm worried I might eventually). They say that once you get it it's irreversible, no matter if you stop the treatment. I'm 40 yrs old, that would be a killer in this stage of my life. The first days on sertraline weren't that positive at all. Felt headaches and nausea, my anxiety spiked to the point my relatives would notice it. I've got to a point where I almost got into a panic attack, whereas I haven't got any since a long time ago. My psychiatrist told me it's going to make effect in a month. In the meantime I try to do exercise, and also psychology sessions with a therapist.

I'm all stressed out - I never lie to my wife about anything but tonight I told her I took one....when I didn't really take one. Does anyone else feel like your body doesn’t want to move? The negative thoughts left my head awhile ago and I’m way logical now, as of right now I’m on anxiety medication. I was recommended Zoloft & I am iffy about it because it made my boyfriend’s aunt an zombie. I’ve had that zombie feeling before being on anti antidepressant before. I was giggling and swimming in my pool that I recently got and tried to do some workouts in there. I work an scuba mask that made me breathe out of my mouth and I held my breath; I then stopped for a bit after because it felt like my body was being reactant to not being able to breathe thorough my nose. I used to always swim as a kid with scuba goggles before and u remember the same feeling but this feeling was heavy and worrying that I got out the pool. Sometimes it’s hard to even speak because I feel the heavyweight on my chest, but I have no idea what I’m sad over? I’ve actually been doing pretty great?

I have refused to take medication for anxiety, panic attacks and depression for the passed 8 years after my mental fuse popped during university. I held myself with herbal teas, socialising, sports and meditation. But, sadly, I ran through a few more life obstacles and I fought so hard. I'm quite daunted and just straight up exhausted. I started taking sertraline and it just numbed me emotionally.. it feels so strange, like it's wrong but yet I have no more care for all of the stressful nonsense that I had to literally slap out of my head for 5 minutes and yet crawls back in. I know that my issue isn't severe compared to many others out there, it's life stress and nothing like PTSD. But it was painful, nonstop every night I can't even sleep, during work I'm fighting with my mind and the job at the same time. I feel like I lost a lot of what am capable of. I don't know of this is good or not, but the serenity of not caring is a bliss. 😢 I usually would cry right now after saying how I feel, but I feel so calm, like, confidence. I guess time will tell. It really feels like a double edged sword right now.

This is me . I keep trying to take these I can’t do it I already tried buspar which doesn’t help my panic and tried effexor made me anxious so now I’m staring at the Zoloft. I have fear and panic just from the pill but I so sick of living like where I can’t do things I can’t drive I can’t go shopping. Yep me too I’ve done it all acupuncture, yoga , swimming , no eating and over eating .. ugh .. I’m scared of the nausea.. my doctor just tell me to now take buspar but doesn’t help me only helps some but not for the intense going out doing stuff . I struggle with menopause and weight gain already .

This video really helps I’m the same way. On it for a week and I just restarted it. On Zoloft and in nursing school wanted to start taking this so things didn’t feel so heavy. When things feel heavy I get depressed. I have a weird metallic taste in the mornings and I was going thru videos when I seen this and felt more calm. I am afraid to take things but i want to give a chance. Did you have dry mouth or a metallic taste?

Shared my story...I went on antidepressants 5 months when I started work. Took during the day was a bit drowsy but still productive. The longer it took my appetite came bk just vivid dreams. I stopped suddenly as I believed they were causing skin issues done this for 2 months, things were fine after withdrawal a week until I started getting a bit stressed, routine changed? Let downs happened, started getting more anxious irritable. My emotions are less numb but more anxious. Now I'm taking at night , have had 1 night of insomnia, suicidal thoughts. Loss of appetite. I hope people Read this and relate. I've tried meditation, exercise? Eating healthy? And I talk about my issues more than the average neurotic lol. Any advice or anybody having similar experiences of not being in control. Maybe medication is the last resort but when will the side effects stop?

@@kristies.8826 How are you now ? Tapering off takes around 2 months--first take alternate days, then once in 3 days, then twice a week and taper off depending on how you feel and as per guided by the physician. . Please research Robert Whitaker before taking any antidepressant medication. He was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in his work on the subject. Antidepressants can work up to three or four years and then you’re worse off than you were and dependent on medication and now with side effects. His evidence based medicine research is world renowned and published. He has two books. ‘Anatomy of an epidemic’, and ‘mad in America’. Please read and be informed before doing this to your brain and body.
