I live here in a 2 story home. Taxes are what kill you. 12k-14k a year. Just in schooling alone, you are paying 5k a year in taxes. Incredible community with all the shopping you nead but do take into consideration that HOA and Taxes are all Due in January and you must be ready to drop $15k in annual expenses every January. Many are also leaving and moving out of the community because they didn't recognize that insane cost after the fact and simply can't afford that cost. Moved from NYC and we pay more in taxes here than in queens NYC just to put that into perspective. We are also considered the safest community in the nation. True middle class hard working folks. Incredibly diverse in culture and politics.
The property taxes in fort bend are starting to force people out. Starting to see more homes on the market due to the property braces or interest rates. Typical. Politicians bob both sides cause most problems in America.
Just want to know who's moving in these places at these interest rates in this economy these days? Also what they do for a living because they are doing something right.
@@livinginhtx Thanks a lot!! I'm from Puerto Rico, but know Katy very well since I used to visit often offices in th energy corridor as I worked for Exxon. Planning on moving to Katy area.
Googling says that the HOA fees are $1250/"year" I hope it's year but they didn't say. Property tax is 3%. So on a $350,000 home tax is 10,500 a year, the HOA is 1250 a year. So 11750 a year. Divided by 12 is 979 a month!!! On the other hand, I bought a used house (1800 sq ft still in Katy), just east of 99 for $210,000 with it's own pool and HOA is 450 a year (started at 400) and 2.65% property tax ($463/mo). The homes at Tamarron are beautiful but in Texas you have to beware the extra costs. Those "amenitites" are going to cost you so make sure that they are things you and your family are going to use.
Is it confirmed that Tamarron West has access to Tamarron amenites? Also, what is the opinion about costs to get accent walls similar to the ones shown?
I believe so but we can confirm for you. And we can get with the builder to see if it’s cheaper to have them do accent walls or to hire someone after. Reach out here and we can get you that info! ferrisrealty.com/survey

Agreed! I bought a rental property in Katy. Property taxes, ISD, MUD tax, home insurance, flood insurance, HOA fees are killing my bottom line.
Most people escrow their taxes, insurance, etc. so it’s spread out in monthly payments. HOA is the only lump sum fee.
@@JourneyToMyDestinyoh that makes sense I guess. I don’t have a mortgage so I have to pay everything up front
The homes are beautiful and I'm glad you showed some under $400000. I loved the bigger one story.

What about flooding? Thats my concern. Harvey. Flooding in that area.
Not an issue

As always showings us the good places that we can still afford 🎉
How much exactly is the 2-story house with typical lot? What's the property tax on Kathy?
The big one is around $400k
Property tax varies, I don’t remember the tax rate there but it’s in the video

Gas used to be 99 cents a gallon, do you pass on gas now too?!
2500 sqft for 400k is ridiculously expensive
