- Here is a compilation of significant tornadoes intercepted during the month of May over the last few decades. May is right around the corner, and is the most active month for tornadoes in the US. Based on the long-range forecast models, it looks like Tornado Alley is about to come alive during May 2021. 45 minutes of storm chasing insanity

This is so much better than Storm Chasers. No constant cuts between shots, no scripted drama, no music. I want to hear the hail and the wind and watch the tornado for more than 1/2 a second between cuts and hear the REAL live reactions and commentary from the chasers. Some of the chatter I've heard on live streams is pure gold. Kelley Williamson and Randy Yarnall (RIP) were two of the best for commentary. Their good natured bickering back and forth never failed to crack me up.
Joplin, MO survivor here, of the EF-5 in May, 2011. Thank you for all u do!!
A good word of advice, never let your vehicle get below half a tank when doing something like this...
Right I heard "bout to run out of gas" , said to myself well damn shitty position to put yourself in with a tornado producing storm and a full tornado just meters away.
I guess that would depend on your fuel tank size and mpg. I have two hundred Holland tanks on my vehicle I can about 500 miles at half.
@Ayden Green Well I have 200 gallons when I’m full and average 8 mpg so it’s roughly 1600 miles but I never go below 1/4 if I can help it.
Are you guys stupid? When they said that they were referring to the intensity behind the tornado.
To run out of gas means to loose energy
@@AucklandGirl21 Thx Einstein
Nothing makes me happier than watching a tornado 🌪 … from the safety of RUclips
I agree with you there
Comment of the day! ❤️
The beginnings of the El Reno tornado is some of the best footage out there of it. That multi vortex ghost tornado was insane.
THat one at 17:00 was the El Reno?
SCARY STUFF !!
@@MasterBlaster220 13:38 is el reno OK
its sad.... one of the best minds lost his life in that storm...
Still as excited as you once were on Storm Chasers in the mid 2000’s. Love it!
Discovery went to 💩 after they cancelled this show

I felt so bad for that poor horse being pelted with hail. ☹😥
Same, hopefully he is well.
that hail aint gonna hurt that horse. startle him, sure
That first one.....I have been a weather fanatic forever...I watched the Weather Channel since the beginning..I have Never seen that footage before!! So Intense!!!! Love this channel!!
That first tornado was incredibly beautiful, sometimes I wish you would stay just a bit further back so we can see the whole tornado ☺
The opening tornado is absolutely jaw dropping, as dutchsinse mentions this goes into Beast mode and does so quickly! I can't imagine what it was like or how it felt to actually be there, insane! Thanks Reed! I feel bad for saying this because I enjoy his content but it must have been incredibly frustrating to work with Reed, its like a constant anxiety attack!
Like the perimeter in the Mey Kong Delta !
Guy 1 "We're in the circulation!" then "Are we ok"
Guy 2 "we're fine"
(Guy 1 puts on seat belt)
Guy 1 " we're getting hit by debris"
imagines the rest of the conversation
Guy 2 "nothing to worry about"
Guy 1 "We're 150Ft in the Air!!"
Guy 2 " situation normal, is this your first time?"
Komeon: LMAO!!! That's about it with Reed, he's guy #2, lol
The interecept at 3:30 is one for the ages. You bagged a one-of-a-kind classic.
need a Tornado Podcast where Reed talks with other chasers
Tornado😢😢😢fklrlaqak
Tornado😭gaweryuop😥
I love the excitement and the thrill you guys are crazy I love it
You're always playing with fire with a multiple vortex.. It doesn't matter how good or experienced you are.. El Reno 2013 was a game changer for every storm chaser/meteorologist in the business.. If Reed thought better than running to and yelling at it, then it was definitely a cut and run situation. RIP to the Twistex crew.. Who sadly perished in that tornado
These people seem really close to sum of these.! 🎗️
If you watch the El Reno episode of the show they put out you realized how close Reed and his team actually came to getting hit. In the episode they list the roads they're driving on when they hit the powerlines in this video. It was the same road that El Reno juked over and exploded in size in seconds which was how twistex got caught. If they'd stayed following as they had been they'd have been stuck and praying those EF5 subvotrexes didn't hit them. The Dominator is good for EF3 to MAYBE lower EF4, and EF5 like the one that killed Twistex would have killed them too.
I really enjoyed watching that team! They r truly missed.
This is an awesome compilation of tornado videography! You like to get up close and personal with these storms and man, you've nailed some rare footage, I think. Best wishes and don't press your luck...
Reeds been on almost every major tornado or outbreak since May 3, 1999. Amazing
unfortunately missed the may 20 2013 tornado
Thanks for the vids Reed. You are a BEAST!
Reed your footage is unlike anything o have ever seen.
You're constantly reassuring those around you who are freaking out. You seem to anticipate tornado movements like noone I've seen. I am in awe!
Please never let your amazing gift make you complacent, I would hate for one to make a grab at you like it did that day for the twistex team. Ultimate respect for what you bring to the field.
The most Incredible footage I have ever seen, Thank You Reed and crew!
I wish you would make more seasons of Tornado Chasers, I think alot of people miss watching that!
I watched the Wray Colorado tornado so many times from so many angles that I immediately knew the first clip was of that one haha. What a beautiful beast
Same here!
@@stephaniemack176 heck yeah :) I love the thing swirly ones.... from a distance of course. Tornadoes are weird, they are addicting to look at, but I think I would have phobia-like fear if it got too close. They are the definition of "beautiful but deadly"
I live in wray Colorado, my friends trailers are the ones on the side of the road
I think besides the really obvious tornados that are crazy dangerous and scary. One of the most intense storms was at 13:38, so much was happening so quickly and there were moments where multiple areas of forming vorteces moving rapidly along the ground, very unsettling.
Man huge thank you to everyone who gets shots like these, I couldn't imagine being there in person this close. I can't stop watching tornado videos? They're so intense and amazing
Each one of this tornadoes are amazing!!
Thanks for your videos!
I'm sitting at my parents house, watching this, while my parents watch Touched by an Angel. I find your videos more fascinating. XD!!
Just awesome Reed. Thank you so much!
16:50
Everyone: "BASEBALLS!!!! BASEBALLS!!! WE GOT BASEBALLS!"
Reed: *sees baseball sized hail* "baseball" *runs over to it like a little kid*
Love you reed never stop chasing
What's even better is when he looks back at the tornado, says "Nevermind" and runs back to the car. 😂
This is why Reed is the goat of storm chasing gotta love him 😎
🎗️
This Video is the BEST I've Ever seen. You must be a Professional Storm chaser¿. I'm trying to figure out how you made this so WELL. Your Camera Equipment is Totally Awsome!. I cant guess how Close OR Faraway you are. *THANK U for the FUN* BE SAFE
Reed you and your team are legends man.
Your footage is absolutely stunning. It’s must be the next best thing to being there. Thank you and take care of yourselves.
Nothing like watching tornadoes on RUclips on a Friday night. Great content guys.
It was very strange to have an EF4 that day in Arkansas on Super Tuesday huh? Went 123 miles on ground too.
Those low precipitation, photogenic field dancing tornadoes always impress me. Brilliant footage 👏
@23:00 reminds a lot of the Ashby/Dalton, MN drillbit from July 8, 2020.
Gotta be my favorite video yall have posted
that first tornado was incredible!
Great video Reed....Thw rough cells stayed just North of us today.
Southern Alabama and Georgia got the brunt. We got one small cell at the end and we sure needed the rain.
(Taylor,Co Fl.)
Some of the best footage I have ever seen!!!
Fantastic compilation.
Awesome video Reed
Man you are nuts! This is awesome!
Nice and scary, then I hear "out of gas, about to run out of gas", took it to a whole new level of tension.
Ummmn holeee crap!!!! That was the most incredible footage I’ve ever seen!!! Got my heart rate up for sure! So wish I could do this at least once in my life. They are mesmerizing, just incredibly beautiful, terrifying forces of nature. So incredibly beautiful, you want to watch it forever, but then the realization of the horrible destruction and devastation it’s causing when it hits a populated area. But wow, just wow. Thank you for this footage. I do worry though!! Some very close calls! But as a photographer and with my own fascination with tornadoes, I know I’d be the same way, trying to capture it even if I’m taking a huge risk. Be safe md stay well!
In some of the videos from El Reno, there is a dead man walking. Just like the Jarrell tornado.
The "baseball" clip gets me each time I see it.
This was the best video I’ve seen so far of a massive stove pipe. That thing was AWESOME!! Glad it was in a non populated area
Your channel is far more of a thrilling and learning experience than Storm Chasers. Excellent idea in using an Estes Rocket to shoot your probes 30,000' to the inflow...BRILLIANT!! Again excellent channel Reed!
This is the best footage of tornadoes, ever!
Thank you Lisa!
Good stuff. Be safe yall. Were your guys Ears Popping?
Your the best Reed!!
Some of the best camera work I've ever seen
Best tornado footage I've ever seen, love it.
May 29th 1982 Marion Ill, I was 6 when the tornadoe hit, all my life I have been fascinated with tornadoes and the power of Mother Nature
fairly sure that's the one my bio grandpa was in, or at least part of the same outbreak, according to my grandma he was at work in a construction place and the tornado hit and he jumped in a ditch and it saved him from getting sucked up as it went right over his workplace. Never got to talk to him about that stuff though as we weren't close, I can't imagine.
Great video! The first is generally nyashka. From such a small one, it grew into such a huge one, then it also blocked the road so that they would not catch up😊
That video looks more like the movie Twister and they wants to get that closer to the storm 5:25 🌪? Very Bad Idea
Reed: the tornado is coming right at us!
Also Reed: PERFECT SPOT
I was executing a hook slice maneuver here!
That is a gorgeous tornado sir
여태까지 자연재해와 종말영상들이 하도 시시해서 구독안 했는데
이번영상은 최고였고 무서웠고 경의로움도 겸비해서 구독과 좋아요함
Magnificent! Does the rocket have a camera or do you just get other data from it?
Super footage‼️
Paused to post. That first tornado experience was amazing. Y'all got cohunes of steal!! I lived in SW Iowa and never saw one straight on like that and barely from a distance. That is an amazing feat of nature!
I was waiting for the intro 😂 love the intro
The first one is insane !!!!
Wray, CO May 7, 2016
TY Reed Timmer!
👏👏👏👏👏
Love THIS!! Very exciting moments for sure. Using husbands phone to leave a message...which I rarely do but this was awesome! Stay safe gentleman!!
Mother of beauty!
That tornado looks insane and amazing looking like WoW 🤩
Such great video as always reed does such agreat job sad rip joel yall was such agreat team together . hes still with u reed .
Killing it man
LMAO Reed, "we're just about to run outa gas!" Continuing to drive towards the tornado! :D
BETTER U GUYS THN MEeeeeee 😳😳😳
I am in awe! These are amazing! I even see beauty in these tornadoes. I know they can be very destructive. That’s the downside. At the same time, they are really powerful and their structure is well, WOW. As long as they stay away from towns and any other structures that they could damage, I’m here for it all!
That's a fine dirtnado you found there!
Great job, take care it's horrible storm of hails and powerful winds.
3:48 that is crazy ass footage, you are almost part of it. A living breathing monster!
If your neighbor planted potatoes and a tornado flings them onto your farm, do you get to keep them?
☺️
They would be hash browns by then...
@@patriciaroysdon9540 😆🌪️
Imagine being right in front of a tornado and your car breaks down
I’m sitting here watching this as the sky is darkening outside and I’m hearing thunder....I live in North Carolina though so no worries. We almost never get something like these!
BETTER TO WATCH BY WAY OF U-TUBE 😅😊
While watching those videos that's like a bad nightmare I'm glad I can only watch it on a video I'd hate to see that in real life I get props to the storm chasers
One of my friend's biggest fears used to be storms until I took him storm chasing. He loves it now
Who could forget the Wray, CO tornado. That was a monster!
My anxiety got bad at 1:25 when they kept driving straight! I wanted to slam on the breaks but settled for a brief pause instead! 😬
oh God, and then at 2:30 "Get a little closer! Get a little close!" I am like NO! DONT WE'RE GOOD RIGHT HERE!!! 🥴
That El Reno tornado was just a different animal...
Colorado definitely produces the mostly picturesque tornadoes.
Wow powerful magnetic forces pushing and shuvingon🌎🌟☄⚡⛈🌩🌪. Thanks for share, stay safe
Was the clip from 13:45 the El Reno tornado forming? I couldn't tell if that was a separate tornado or if it was the same one. I had never seen the beginning of it.
Yup
@@MeesterJ Thank you. At first, it didn't look like it was going to stay on the ground. Crazy it turned into the monster that it did.
Damn I live in Gary Indiana / Hammond Indiana I'm glad those tomatoes don't come our way
You mean you didn't have racing pins on your hood? I love watching these storm chases, but it's dangerous! This tornado 🌪was coming after y'all. How fast can a tornado 🌪travel?
Amazing footage , I have never seen a tornado , you guys stay safe , this is a dangerous job or hobby , anything can happen in a blink of an eye .
I’ve got these things figured out now
Thank you! We will stay safe
Wooww this past month updates. Soo cooool
May 31 2013
El Reno OK
Ahhh yay no more tornados
~a few hours later~
OMG THIS IS THE BIGGEST TORNADO EVER
(It actually was it got to the total of 2.6 miles wide!)
Thank u. WOW
A lot of these don’t have location or date... could someone comment it? It would be much appreciated
Wow....that is amazing!!
I was like wait was that reed running with no shirt and a Tie? LMAO 🤣 🤣 CHIP N' DALE moment 🤣 😂 😅 turns out was a camera not a tie. Nice flashback video. Those were the days when we all were young 🙃
Beautiful tornado 🌪 😳

This is a great reference video for CGI artists
