I saw that paint going on dry from the first coat. I was saying to the computer, adjust the flow, put it on more wet and sweep a tad faster. I kept saying THAT'S gonna need wet sanded and buffed out.
Monkey Wrench Mike truly is going to love that paint job ❤, hey Santa my Wife has a 88 Camaro that I wish you were closer, I would love for you to paint it.😊 I do believe in Santa
I think it looks great! MWM will be thrilled when he sees his Volvo. Now he just has to get it running as good as it looks. I found your approach to blending very interesting. I’m sure most viewers know how difficult it is when one tries to blend new paint with old, especially with a car that’s 30+ years old like this Volvo. It would be great if you could teach us the details of your blending methods in a future video. Anytime I see a new Santa’s Workshop video in my feed I know it’s going to be a great day. Today was no exception. Peace my friend, DrRick
"Hey Santa"- You are correct, that is pine tree sap, hardened by time and the sun. This stuff was used to seal wooden barrels, and they never leaked! Source, antique woodworker/skills
Another random fact, during the black plague the amber merchants were the only group who contracted the plague but recovered! Of course amber being tree sap 6 million years old it is a strong antibiotic and the merchants breathed in the dust when polishing!
It looks amazing, Santa. Despite the suffertime weather, you managed a miracle on the Volvo. Also, when I lived on the coast of SC, we had a lot of loblolly pine trees in our yard and the sap was unavoidable. As soon as you showed the sap droplets on MWM's car, I knew exactly what it was. It's difficult to get off even if you catch it early...
Enjoyed watching you save an oldie but a goodie( like me, ex car painter). You did the car justice and hope this wagon will give MWM some fun driving it(and views too!!)😎👍
Randy Ur doing a kood job on the Volvo keep it up the subsustute teacher Ms Claus is coming back to expect that Jaguar S class thants been sitting & we are tired off hearing that damn quack quack Please paint the 2002 E320 wagen MWm is crying 🐒🌍
@@SantasWorkshop Wish I could say I am but, just got out of the hospital Thursday. Had to have an angiogram because of blood pressure being sky high as well as my glucose levels AND have pancreatitis AGAIN. All at the same time so, been home for 2 weeks now and you know how that is. If the wheels ain't turning, you're not earning.
Nice work Santa Mikes shops the car looks so much nicer wax an tar remover would work and lacquer thinner with rubber gloves on cleans any thing on pain and won’t lift the old paint up2 rags one to wipe and on to dry I’m sure you may know this but if you don’t there you go 😊😊
😂I used a factory pack for the base coat and Omni speed clear for top coat. Had to add enamel reducer to the top coat to get it to flow due to the heat.
Most of the paint in the 70’s was single stage with a petroleum base. In the 80’s the epa got involved and started changing all the formulas to a water base and it just hasn’t been the same since.
Great job done !!! Sadly its a waste of time (and effort) to do it all for a guy as Mike. He thinks the world of Merc but time shows they are making crap since the late 90’s but he refuses to see that. But anyway, it takes all sorts to keep your business going i guess………
Great work brother keep pushing blessings
Looks real nice, Mike.
Big like and keep the working videos :)
Thank you, I will
MWM going to be very happy 🎉🎉🎉. Great work Santa and his team

You have done an excellent job on Mike's Volvo. Take a bow sir.

Great work! Look superb this way! 😁
Thanks a lot 😊

Nice job, not perfect but I guess way better than what Mike asked for. The perfect car for a plastics restore product review. Excellent.
Nice job on that old beast, you've got the touch. I can't wait to see what happens when Monkey Wrench Mike sees it all polished up. Thanks Santa. 😀✌❤
This Volvo model is really good, being a turbo you can get a good horsepower extra with a remap
You are a good friend.
Michael ,wow the Volvo looks great,
I'm surprised 😮. Excellent job Santa 👌👌👌
Wow, Santa, that looks ever so much better!
I would have been tempted to paint the hood and everything above the sharp body crease silver metallic.

Randy??? Santa's name is Mike. You're very confused here. Why are you complaining about a duck? Mike doesn't have any.
Looks good Mike.
Thank you brother! Hope you are doing well!!!

ya that's def . long needle pine sap on top of the car
Those Ugly bumpers look bad you guys should Paint them as well in black, but great job Michael 👍
Throw a cheap Bluetooth headunit in monkey wrench mikes volvo
I see you got the washer nozzles off. I use needle nose pliers to squeeze together the retaining tangs on the back side of the hood.
I have always used a small flat blade screw driver. Push in one side and angle it through the hole then push the other side.

Hi Santa are you going to paint mikes Saab to great content
🥃🥃
Did I miss what kind of paint you used..? I went to sleep a time or two .
😂I used a factory pack for the base coat and Omni speed clear for top coat. Had to add enamel reducer to the top coat to get it to flow due to the heat.
question for you,why the clear cote today is coming off on many cars but when i was young in the 70's never seen that?
Most of the paint in the 70’s was single stage with a petroleum base. In the 80’s the epa got involved and started changing all the formulas to a water base and it just hasn’t been the same since.
@@SantasWorkshop thanks
Is this the car that was called the rat wagon making a good car better
Great job done !!!

Michael it looks like either it’s been painted before or just bad paint work from Volvo?
Bad clear coat. When it was built they were playing with the formulation for the environment.
Should wear a mask santa so ur not breathing that shit in.
110% isn't possible, you do know that
Looks absolutely better Mike. You do great work!
