Prismacolors are so expensive and don’t have as many cool colours (blues purples) I burnish (pressing hard making it look like a painting when done) and the fact that the colours are already so nice with just a light | medium press I’m confident I can make the purchase. I’ve been researching for literal months. 6+ or so. Thank you again.
I like these pencils a lot. I've had them for quite a while. You mentioned that the colors are muted and that's a very apt description. I love using these when I'm doing an evening or night scene to great effect. Someone in the comments said this set has too many pastels, but I disagree. Again, they are muted colors so there are no 'intense' or garish (your word!) pigments. I'm getting ready to use them right now in the Wildergorn coloring book on an evening/stormy scene.
Me too. I would like to know if they are comparable to Castles or Artezas. I've bought Norberg & Linden 120 recently, due to the good reviews, and they are really really bad (I was sooo angry). I love the color range of Master's set but I would like to know first if they are as good as Castles. Thank you.
I realize it's been two years since you asked this question, but here's my opinion: these are wonderful to color with and easy to use. I feel the Castle Arts are scratchy compared to these. They also have a much better range of colors than Castle Arts.
No. There is a wide range of colors. Plus you can layer to build the color. It's a good affordable set for the money. If you are looking for a professional set, the Pablo or Lyra is a good choice. I have video reviews of those too. 😊
Your old eyes are not deceiving you, way too many pastel shades. Bought this set to be used with Creyart, which I positively love. If I had to do it over again, I would not buy them. Not enough oomph there. My budget crayola and Prang will have to come to the rescue to deliver enough punch.
