5 Day Egg Fast Results │ My Experience With The Egg Diet │ Keto Weight Loss Results

I got to experience my first challenge using the egg fast. I kept the concepts simple and did not use any sweeteners or spices other than pink salt. I would definitely do the egg fast again, especially if I got off course or needed a restart. It was an easy challenge to do and I can see why this is a great tool to have.
What is an egg fast? It’s basically where you eat eggs, butter and cheese only for 3-5 days. The ratio of eggs/butter/cheese is based off your own macros but the general rule is 4 eggs, 2 TBS butter and 1 ounce cheese per meal until you hit your macros. For example, I weighed 233 pounds at the beginning of my egg fast so inputting eggs, butter, and cheese into my food diary showed me I needed to eat at least 8 eggs, 2-4 TBS butter, and 1-2 oz cheese per day to hit my protein goals. I divided that up into two meals consisting of 4 eggs, 1 TBS butter and 1 ounce cheese in each meal twice per day.
These are all the advantages of doing an egg fast.
-Super easy and a time saver for meal planning because you can only have 3 ingredients. I spent maybe 10 mins making meals and it gave me more time to do other things I needed to get done.
-Tons of energy! As much as it gagged me to eat eggs for 5 days, I was equally impressed with how good I felt. I had so much energy that I ended up tackling stuff that’s been sitting on my to-do list forever!
-Not hungry! Like 0 hunger! Towards the end of the fast I started backing off on the fat per meal because I was too full. I ended up doing 1 TBS of butter per meal instead of 2 TBS per meal. That helped me not feel so full yet still allowed me to taste the fat. Since I’m morbidly obese, there was no need to me to hit my fat goal of 4 TBS of butter per day.
-Weight loss! I was not experiencing a slow down or stall on the scale and I still was able to lose 5 pounds. If you need a jump start or a restart to keto this is a great way to get yourself back on track.
-Absolutely no cravings or desire to eat! That was pretty awesome to experience. It helps get the self discipline going again because it’s so easy to stay on track.
-An easy challenge to start the momentum of your journey again.
The disadvantages of doing the 5 day egg fast are as follows.
-Eggs were starting to gag me after day 3. It was very hard to keep eating them to fit my macros.
-Hard to hit protein goals. Since there was so many eggs to eat it was hard when the eggs were gagging me to eat enough of them to hit my protein goals.
-I was expecting to save money on my grocery bills but because my store bought free range eggs are actually pretty pricey it ended up being about the same amount I normally spend on groceries.
In conclusion, it was a fun challenge and I would definitely do it again. I would just do the 3 day egg fast because I didn’t see any additional weight loss after day 3 to make it worth doing the 5 days. I was able to lose a decent amount of weight in such a short time. I went from 233 to 228 and I’m happy with that 5 pound loss.

At my highest weight I was 315 pounds. I started 2019 at 280 pounds. I wanted to hit 199 pounds by my daughter’s wedding next weekend. I’m currently at 203. I’m going to do an egg fast starting tomorrow! 8 days til the wedding- can I hit 199?!?!!

I am on this egg fast. So naturally I am watching every egg fast video I can find lol. One thing I have noticed throughout each video is how incredible everybodies skin is after doing this. It just gets better and brighter every day!

The reason skin improves is that eggs help your body produce glutithione which is very good for your skin. I started taking glutithione with milk thistle as a supplement along with vitamin C. It has almost the same effects as the egg fast. Mental, and energy boost along with much improvement in skin. So interesting!
After trying both the 3 day egg fast and the 5 day egg fast 4 weeks apart I personally think I’d stick with just 3 days! 5 days was a little more challenging to stick with for me and only had a 1lb difference between the two last days. With the 3 days I lose 9.8lbs and at 5 days 10.4lbs. I vlogged mine too! Thanks for sharing! 💓🤗

I kept checking for your results yesterday. I had it figured wrong. I was sooo excited when I saw it was here today. My life and interests have definitely changed since keto😁🤗!
I did this and lost a solid 10 lbs. I found that I now prefer my eggs "over medium" since I stopped using toasted bread. Sometimes I would put an ounce of grated parmesan cheese on the bottom for variety. 👴🏻👍🏻

Don't cut the fat you need it to balance out the protein which converts to sugar without the right amount of fat, that why she only lost five pounds I lost 7lb in 3 days
I found your channel when I recently started doing keto.. 2 of my 3 meals are just eggs.. I’m a bartender so I get home from work around 3am and don’t usually go to bed till 5am. I usually sleep all day till it’s time to get in the shower and get ready for work. Today I got up and immediately started cleaning house, doing laundry.. etc. You are so correct about all the energy! And it’s crazy how a Chaffle will fill you up. It’s nuts. Love your channel! Jes, I soooo agree with you on the tracking macros during an egg fast. This is my second one and I am definitely not losing as much as I did my first time doing it. But I know I am doing things right by not over consuming.

I did the same for a week, but whenever I fancied something sweet or got super fed up of eggs I would sprinkle a little sweetener over them and it almost tasted like a pancake 😄 I went from 179lbs down to 168lbs in a week.

I ate three eggs with one yolk four pieces of bacon and a slice of cheese, 3xs a day , i lost the fat , but I made a lot of muscle!!! 🤗 I’m ready to go back to it. Three months on and three months off ! What I mean by that is you do it every three months eating eggs bacon and cheese and then there’s three you’re not on it! It works on me!

Neato! The energy/focus also happens when I extended fast for 3 days... You get a whole lot done when you don't need to eat or make food. Lol. And nice frying pan! I have the same one =)

I started the egg fast yesterday. I decided to use one egg and the cheese to make chaffles to use as "toast" to go with my 3 scrambled eggs. Yummy!
Definitely agree. I did keto egg diet also because when i started keto last year of august starting weight 160lbs to 120lbs. Im having hard time reaching my ideal weight for my height. When i did keto egg diet for 5 days. I first check my tdee and bmr so i wont experienced calorie defecit and base to my calculation i have to consume 1200 calories/ day doing the keto egg diet, and it works. I did reached my ideal weight i lost 10lbs in 5 days. 😄😄😄

I break fast around 1pm when I eat a 2 egg 8" frittata w/veggies, onion, garlic, meats, cheeses & tomato and a cup of spinach every day.
Mid day snack is half an avocado w/meat/peppers, garlic, ginger. Tea or bone broth to sip.
Evening meal of salmon cakes or grass fed burgers, w/the other half of avocado & some artichoke heart blades, olives or peppers. I'm blessed.
Ooooh, I lovvvvvvvve eggs and need to drop 5 pounds for a comfy fit in a jumpsuit. I’ve been successful eating clean and working out but I need a boost over the next week...gonna try this!

Could you do a video that starts with how you chose/plan your foods (do you Pinterest recipes?) then take us grocery shopping for them and then preparing the food or follow with another video of “what I eat for the week”? I’ve done several egg fasts, both 3 day and 5 day, I feel so good on them. My body also loves no carbs. Everyone make sure you drink enough water and use salt while you are doing this! I used homemade keto mayo for some meals instead of the butter and made deviled eggs or just a simple egg salad with hard boiled eggs and took with me for meals to eat while at work. I’m a little strange in that I seem to be able to eat the same thing every day for many days. I also have done beef/butter fasts with good results. I’m a runny egg fan! Thanks for this great instructional video.

I think I do better at eating the same thing for several days than I do with keto where I have options . I wonder why that is??

Hey Jess, I’m going to do another 5 day again starting Monday. There is a quiche recipe from Keto Connect that I may try to work up to fit this so I’m not just eating plain eggs all the time. So between scrambled, egg salad and quiche, I can keep it interesting for the 5 day stretch. For Sunday, I’m staying carnivore.
I have just found you but you seem so incredibly sweet and a very happy person!
I have been 95% carnivore for going on 5 years. Earlier was under 20 grams carbs a day. I LOVE the energy. I lost 100 pounds over all. I started about 240 at my heaviest. Now go between 135 to 140. Never tried the egg fast. Not sure now if it would make any difference. Meals are a breeze. Shopping once every 6 weeks or so is super fast. Meat eggs butter cheese a few spices. Tonight I made a large pan of chicken enchiladas that will last me 6 meals. My big cheat is a whole can of olives in the batch and a whole can of the chopped green chili peppers and spices. I made my own sauce no flour. It was amazing. My health is amazing blood work amazing. I was considered pre-diabetic, Morbidly obese and metabolic scale was 7.?? I forget now exactly. HDL below 30 now 129. Triglycerides were off the charts well over 400. Now 71. So now Metabolic scale is down to just under 4 . Doctor is totally shocked watching me do this and lose the weight no surgery no counseling. I just did it. The high energy and good health keeps me wanting to eat this way forever. No longer a diet it is a way of life. Keep going you are doing great and look amazing. I did have a few weight loss stalls but my body shape continued to shift around. I started this at 65 years old. So wish I had done it sooner. I have a lot of sagging skin. Oh well at 70 and now alone I do not much care. Life is great.
Carniviore 7 weeks at a stahl, how did you get back going again? Fasting?
@@BellaRosa55 Not at all. a 7 week stall is not that long even though we feel it is at the time . A three or four month stall is a stall and things need to be looked into. A couple times I cheated. A cheat to me is adding olives and chopped green chilies to my carnivore enchiladas. Eating a Calrs Jr lettuce wrapped burger with tomato and onion. A dill pickle. My stupid system is so sensitive it is all it takes to throw me into a stall or add on a couple pounds. Most have not screwed their bodies up eating way over the top too many carbs like I have done. I kind of semi IF in that I eat my dinner between 6 and 7 PM and I usually do not eat again until 11 or 12 the next day. EXCEPT for a bowl of sugar free gelatin and a small handful of pumpkin seeds. YES another cheat. I also use almond milk not carnivore. I am ok. I keep my carbs usually well under 10 a day and I maintain.
So just keep on doing as you are doing and trust the process and maybe measure yourself instead of weigh. Often my weight did not go down but my pants were falling off me. Losing inches not pounds. It is so interesting to see how much my body changed during all of this. I never had thin legs before and now I really do. My hips are much smaller than they ever were too. but then I am 71 so I imagine lack of horror-mones are also a part of this.

Every body metabolism is different and not everyone’s weight loss will be the same number. You also have to work out at least 30 min daily to help out.

I did the three day egg fast last week too. I lost six lbs- so worth it bc I lose soooo slow. I made an egg loaf, pimento cheese, deviled eggs, some chaffles and egg and cream cheese pancakes, and of course some scrambled eggs with cheese. It helped to keep the eggs reinvented. And while I did the 3 day, I did a transition day on days 4 and 5. I would definitely do it again!

@@greggocean chaffles are just eggs an shredded cheese mixed an poured into a waffle maker to be served savory as a sandwich bread or sweet as a waffle do do a ratio of 4eggs to 1/2 cup cheese due to the more cheese the rubbery it will be but will make 2 - 3 chaffles

On egg fast right now. This is just my second day but I've already lost 3 lbs. I was at a plateau after losing 40 lbs and this is actually working. I should have waited to weigh myself until the end of my 5th day but I just couldn't. Lol. I woke up literally feeling lighter today. I plan on finishing 5 days and see how it goes. I started my 3 day fast today, but then later in the day I also started my monthly cycle. I don’t plan to stop fasting though I just hope the natural monthly cycle bloating and water gain doesn’t interfere with my possible weight loss results...... We shall see!!!!
