Bats are good to have around you are right just can't evict them got to have a back up plan build it and they will come.besides that bats are going thought some hard times right now.

How can I move the bats from my brick column to the bat house. I installed it 15 feet away from their opening. The bathouse is getting plenty morning sun and is a bit higher that the opening they are using now. I need to do some maintenance .

You will need to provide the new bat house (sounds like you've done that) and exclude the bats from the previous location. Simply hanging a bat house will rarely encourage the bats to move on their own, it's more likely they will simply start living in both places. Thanks for loving bats!
