The intro lore was that the 2 factions are all A.I now just doing its programming and its human leaders are dead. They just fighting in the day and have the Bots repair everything at night and those bots forgot their original programming too.
This is like if concept art was a game in the sense that it feels like a massive art peice within itself that you get the pleasure of having to bob and weave through all the cool stuff going on
Funny enough? This game's devs are almost entirely concept artists that have been in the big leagues, working on AAA titles. A lot of the oppressive atmosphere and despair in this game is a direct result of their experiences in have their ideas stamped out, carved apart for parts, or in best case ignored entirely. It's also very much representative of them trying to navigate the video game market and avoid drawing the attention of the industry titans.
This looks neat! Love the "rig" on the back of survivors, indicating the importance of storage as well as adding a touch of realism to the video game trope of "character carries a storage wars' worth of materials around sin consequences".
I'm guessing the combat of tarkov, resource management of death stranding, mecha and world design like acid rain world, I'm sold! Just hope there's a single player campaign though
More like combat of Gears of War, it is third person, and resource management and looting mechanics of Tarkov. The game is 4-player coop PvE and can be played solo, they haven't said anything about a strict campaign, so they are either going to inject story elements into events, or have a mission system like Tarkov as well.
Already anticipating a mech game in this setting. These mechs are where its at. Comments being ultra critical of pre alpha gameplay are the smoothest brain takes and getting exhuasting to read.
Honestly, from watching this game's development immediately after the initial teasers till now... it feels like 2 different studios with 2 vastly different game and art designs are actively competing to try and tug-of-war the game's design and it does not look promising from this new trailer.
Considering they haven't even annouced a release date on steam, I'll let it fly for now. Seems like this was ment to give people an idea of what they are getting into with the game ahead of time

The concept of "do this job for this faction, this faction get bigger and stronger, and vice versa for other faction" has been explored by a game called "Quasimorph". Same extraction shooter genre but different playstyle (It is a turned based game) so if you want to explore and learn how they design the game flow you can look over at that game

not every game needs to be a tech demo. Understand that these are smaller teams with a vision for aesthetic and fulfilling a niche fantasy
