Camaro launched like my Grandma leaving Shoneys for Sunday dinner and still ran him down, SS should run 13 flat and rt should do at least 14
Not 6000feet above sea level
I didn’t read description before, but it still should run under 14, it’s almost at 15 seconds
@@samholcombe3129 pretty sure it’s an awd R/t if that’s the case it’s almost 200lb heavier than a normal rwd charger
@@ExpoPerformence I was talking about the SS
For the record (since this is my car). This is a RT AWD Max. The race is at Bandimere which is over 5800 ft above see level. Don't remember the DA that day but it is very common to be around 6500-7000 DA. I SPANKED the Camaro off the line and yes, Camaros are faster than my 4 door behemoth, but I can drive my car in the snow. (If it didn't snow in Denver I would have bought an SRT8.) Vroom
Car looked good
Hell yea
Nice run
07 RT here....Bought the Charger for a couple of reasons....#1 Muscle car...#2 I can take the whole family....#3.........um???? OK 2 reasons
#3, uh.. its a dodge.
In case all you guys that dont know, this drag strap is one mile above sea level in Colorado. It so-called "NA(Naturally Aspirated) killer". Cars/Trucks without force induction always struggle. Turbo cars such as EVO and STI perform better.
Both stock?
What year was the Super Bee and was it a charger or challenger? If it was a 2011- it was a downgrade.
Oh god ... RT can stick with Camaro like this ! thats amazing
nice video
What's the altitude?
It's an R/T, it has the Hemi emblem on the side. And that's an SS it has the scoop on the bumper. The reason they are running so slow is the elevation.
Didn't you Red light on my other video of you...?
5.7 Hemi vs 6.2 chevy
Bring SRT8 then its a fair race!!
Monster Mopar!!
How’s a SRT vs an SS a fair race? Lol more like a ZL1 vs an SRT
@@mambabean82410 Liters and rated horsepower c'mon
Lmao wtf Brandon then it would be ZL1 vs hellcat ??
@@mambabean82410 what lmao u would have to bring a hellcat for that race the rt is pretty much the baby hemi the srt is the big real hemi a ss vs srt is more fair but srt would take it
@@erikocegueda344 the camaro actually beats the srt of these years lol
Im trying to get a car but i dont knoow whether to choose a camaro ss or srt8 any help?
Srt8 it's 4 door and still packs the horsepower!
I’d say the srt8 or even an all wheel drive r/t. That hemi torque is something that wont get old
Look at the 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona on my page i uploaded and have a few videos of, that is mine. It has the 5.7 hemi... Also Do you not clearly see the "hemi" logo on the front fender? And a six cylinder charger would not run 15s at 7000 feet elevation. I can keep going if you still cant figure it out lol.
The camaro actually spanked him good considering either the camaro driver hesitated on start or the charger jumped about a 0.1 second early whish is huge on a a start.
It's probably a R/T base only the Road and Track and Daytona editions have the R/T badging on the grille.
No, they will run mid 13s stock. As his comment said, this is at 6000 ft. That kind of elevation leeches ridiculous amounts of power unless you have forced induction.
I raced my modded 3.6L Charger in Utah (high elevation to) 16 flat is my record.
A SRT or 392 Scat pack Challenger would be a even match.
Yes it is
Are you sure it's an R/T?
This is at 6000 feet above sea level.
Check out the other runs...search ZL1 at Bandimeer. Boosted vehicles do better at altitude...even saw a giant diesel truck that was as quick if not quicker than the vettes. Turbos or supercharger help greatly at high elevations.
Haha I know man but you commented bragging about your reaction time. I was just pointing out the flaw in that statement.
Welcome to Colorado.... My RT will run high 13s at minnesota elevation.
@bigekn
No it's not. It's all about the driver too. Bad driver or good driver can gain or lose about 5 seconds in the same car same conditions.
@dobadriver it most certainly does not handle like a boat. Despite being two tons like the charger, I could hit a corner like a champ and feel virtually no body role due to the stiff suspension and low profile.
Nice job pulling that Camaro of the line. In a street race if you had to merge you would've won that one
If you would read the comments you would see this is at 6000 feet above sea level. Numbers prove nothing, those numbers you are reading are in absolute perfect track conditions and at sea level. Thanks for the comment.
actually, depending on where you live also, you have to take altitude in consideration.
For the new chargers it is fair to compare between the srt8 392 , ss and GT. But for the Hellcat the comparison will be between the ZL1 , GT350 and GT500 !!!
The only reason the charger took off faster was because that one was AWD (the rims give that away) and you can hear the camaro spinning off the line. That and the high elevation doesn't show what either car can really do.
Is it bad... That I had an 09 Bullitt mustang. Which has the baby 4.6L 3v V8. It had a mild cam, exhaust, not including headers, and CAI. It made 295 wheel at 6000 ft elevation in Colorado and ran 13.8 at 100 mph on bald street tires at Bandimere Speedway. Is that sad? Ran faster than both of these which both make more power.
Venomaro if yo liked the car then it is not bad if anybody tells you other wise don't listen to them.
My completely stock SP runs 13.8 at Bandimere.
Which is faster a 2014 camaro v6 or 2015 charger rt v8
Camaro
Mansur Cakmak absolutely R/T bitch
Caleel Lumpkin rt by like 100 hp that dude is just a fanboy
Don't Cry, ITS THE V8
por isso eu curto carros da dodge tipo esse essa marca e o cara
I ran a 13.65@101mph from mine at northern Illinois elevation.
lol, I ought to know since I have one and have owned many muscle cars in my lifetime.
my last car was a monte ss supercharged. only 240 hp bu did quarter mi in 15 sec at any elevation. blower helps at high altitude. havent taken my Challenger RT in the mountains yet. but it is a freaking 4300 lb tuna boat so probably not very exciting.
My stock 2010 SS runs mid to low 13's , something wrong he's running almost a 15 lol , v6 times
5.7 and 6.2 in SS...is all about the high altitude for these times
Oh, and .092 is kinda a slow reaction time for me. :)
Its an SS racing at 6000 feet elevation
The SS should be high 12's to low 13's. Does it affect it that much? I've heard it before but never experienced it. Id have to find a better place to race. This means if i raced my car it would run like a 16 and thsts just shitty. At least you beat the dodge.
it is an rt...different options of rims on the rt's and the base sixes.
By those rims the Charger is AWD . I have the same car in white. The comments are right though on the altitude botching the times
cuz i have dodge RT road & truck my rims is 20" and chrome + red RT logo in front and back
I own a charger as well. He kinda jumped the start. But that Camaro is the truth. That's my next toy to purchase!
Camaro has basically has only two v8 models, whereas chargers have like 11. You cant just say the SS should race the srt, that car would obviously win and it better since it cost like 10k more and has way more hp. Do you people even think before your little fingers start moving?
6000 ft
...its got a hemi badge on the front fender...it IS an R/T
I have a 2012 dodge charger rt up forsale.
Damn it must suck racing at high altitude...
Ya it's Bandimere: Elevation - 5800' above sea level
Yes 5800 actual, but the air quality there is usually the equivalent of 9-10k feet! They often announce the relative altitude during races so you know what setting to choose.
ya barely. but look at the power and weight difference. either way, thats not bad for a big heavy car though
bro its a Charger Max its on dodge.com
lmao I didnt want to be the one to say it first.
A 14.94 is pretty shitty. Is it really cause of elevation or is the track going up hill? Lol
Man that camaro was sleepin hard
Wow altitude kills power. I swear my charger rt is quick than my 99 prelude and I ran 14.8 in the prelude at bandimere
Though I am comparing a prelude with a few grand in mods vs a stock charger awd here
I run RTs pretty frequently in my prelude.. I just ran one this year or slightly newer and pulled easily on it.
F20NAprelude I miss my prelude. I did just break into the 13s in my rt last week
dasllamas nice nice.. Due to gearing and traction I'm having trouble off a dig.
From a roll I been beating a lot of low 14 and high 13 sec cars..
F20NAprelude you at sea level or up here in Colorado? I ran my charger at the same track in the video a couple months ago and was running low 15s. 15.01 best. I posted the video on my channel if you are interested
its high elevation man.
It looks like they are at a higher altitude which make cars run slower. Density altitude has alot to do with how cars run.
Plus Bandimere is in a severe low-pressure zone because it's so close to the mountains.
Can't blame the person shifted wrong because Dodge Charger only comes in automatic transmission. Dodge Charger RT iwitg
Keep browsing and you will know when you hear a hemi
You're not running 13s at 6000 ft above sea level. Sorry.
As long as the SRT has a supercharger too.
Hemi AWD
Explitplayer do you need your eyes check dude? The camaro is a 2012 for all we know the dodge charger could have been up to 2011 or 2010 face it dude you can't beat a charger
RT Max comes with silver logo diff rims
thats an all wheel drive charger!!
CHARGER IS AWD those wheels only come on the awd, 19 in polished aluminum . get you one
That is a base RT the track and RT MAX have the red logo in front. The charger weighs about as much as a small house but ud still take it over the camaro
That voids the warranty though.
4 door vs 2 door
So where's the Camaro at I dint see it,,
The camaro wins idiot HAHAHA
No not an r/t the r/t has different rims and different sound of engine
well that's not the SRT8
its a R/T but It the MAX its rught under the SRT-8
actually I think it's an RT AWD.
Umm thats not an R/T Thats a SE
Both cars would have been significantly faster at sea level.
Yeah that charger looks 100x better than the camaro, and that was closer than it should have been.. Thumbs up to the charger.
yes we do. the camaro by at least .2 cause thats about how much the ss camaro beats the srt8 challenger(which is faster then the charger) by. but they are all fast and fun. mustang camaro challenger whatever just buy the one that gives you the best deal that day and it could be any one of them on any given day. american muscle forever!
best at breaking down
wow that can't be right.. i pushed a high 12.98 out of my rt and im not working with much
It's Bandimere...which is known for horrible elevation and air quality...it's usually the equivalent of 9-10k feet. My 392 has only pulled a low 13.8 time in complete stock trim and on the stock, crappy Pirellis.
need to get a supercharger then, 15 second quarter mi is a freaking embarrasment
That Camaro walked his ass!!!
Cameron is the shit if it was upgrade it will out run the other car but by a little it will catch up so the camero gives it time then it's time to end it
sports sedan = sports car = sports car with four doors. They should make a charger with two doors. Chargers look great but I wouldn't buy one unless they make a two door model.
Sad sad sad. The v6 Camaro gets low 14s Stock.lmao
They should make dodge charger coupe cuz its looks kinda long with 4 doors
No...then the Charger and Challenger would compete for the same buyers...with 4 doors they serve different markets.
all the arguing back and forth about which one is better is pointless...especially to ppl you'll never meet nor race. lol both cars are great...
Its an RT
Apparently its just awful when you get nice and high above sea level, hell I wouldnt even want to own a muscle/sports car that isnt turbo'd or SC'd if I lived that high up!
its 6V dodge its not RT, my guess
It was an ok race...camaro driver needs to launch better...both cars are decent...but heavy as hell...
14.9???? In a stock ss lol. That is way to slow. I was at the track with my stock ss and ran 13.2, 13.5, 13.4. The worst I did was a 13.7
TheBeast56100 temp and elevation matters a lot
Why do people keep putting cars in different power classes against each other and then run there mouth when the car with less power and more loses?
Wow.. Screw elevation. The camaro driver clearly didn't find the gas for almost a full second and gave up a car length.. both cars are torquey machines, yet that is one of the laziest launches I've ever seen on the part of the camaro.. A car is nothing unless you have a driver to match it..It's true that things like elevation, humidity, and track surface can greatly affect the performance, but that only takes effect when and after you decide to get the car moving.. :P
Well I hope the SS wins. That's like a bully picking on someone's younger brother. Now if that Camaro SS was racing a SRT8, he would get murdered!
Srt8 can't bear me , Camaro is lighter and also has 1 more hp , if LS3 . srt8 I beat all the time .
cool
If you put an srt8 then you have to put a zl1 then see what happens
No...then you put a Hellcat next to it.
