- I walk through Asbury Park, a seaside community located on the New Jersey shore. I walk from the NJ Transit Station to downtown, and then make my way to the lively Ocean Avenue. It is known for its hip culture and being the birthplace of popular musicians Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi. Many restaurants lined the downtown area, and the homes were very well kept.

Thank you AK for another video from Asbury Park. It’s a beautiful place and upscale as well but what I was saying in the chat earlier that there is a racist undertone there. You would not know it but it’s there. Their has been incidents at the casino and their own newspaper of those undertones. Thank god you did not experience it while you were there but it’s underneath the surface.

Breaks up the monotony of the NYC streets
Hi, I’m new to ur channel and i’m glad u toured Asbury park i was born and raised there in Asbury Park and it’s not like it use to be when i was a kid. All the amusement for kids on the beach like the Ferris wheel and little car buggie rides are all gone. All down at the beach now is just entertaining for adults. Lake avenue use be called springwood avenue then they changed the name and there where little stores along lake avenue now they are torned down and gone. What u are video taping is nothing how Asbury park use to be all that stuff u taping was never there and they didn’t have all those restaurants there back in the day. So what u are seeing is a whole new Asbury park, again a lot of that stuff was not there at all. My family still live there in Asbury park and we talk about how we missed the old days of what it use to be. But I’m happy u visited and filmed it so others can see what the town is like. And u didn’t have to pay for all that parking back in the day. But again those viewing is seeing a whole new town. Not like it use to be. Thank u for the tour even though that’s my hometown but i still like the video. Thanks🐝👍🏽😊
Still name Springwood Avenue. West of Main St to the city line in the 1500 block of Springwood is still named Springwood Avenue.
@@MEGGAH1GRAND Hey Hey 👋🏽, O yea i forgot to say that they changed it back to springwood avenue which i’m glad they did, cause the name Lake avenue just didn’t fit. Although I moved a hour and half away i still love my hometown and I’m a shore girl at heart raised up in a home 15 minutes from the beach I ever knew how good i had it growing up. A lot people have to drive miles to get to one we had the beach and the luxury of it right in our back yard. So again i’m always happy to see people visit the town just to see and know that Asbury park has a lot history in that city. Thanks again for responding back.🐝
I agree! I grew up there in the 80’s when drugs and crime were a big problem. I grew up when as a kid I knew to never step on a needle on the beach. It was a rough area in the 80’s but over the tracks was much worse. You might know my dad Jimmy Massey.. he’s been in AP forever. There was no Ferris wheel in the 80’s but there was the funhouse and little rides and an arcade for us kids.. I still go and enjoy it though.

As of last month link has been in Hartford Connecticut my town.. they are pretty fast actually. There are designated areas for it to be used like our downtown area really.. it’s not all over the city yet. We had lime bikes they were stolen and misused

Careful, cookman Ave and along the ocean is the attraction. There is a bad neighborhood too. That round structure used to be the carousel. The history is fascinating. Too bad you don’t know any of it. It’s the STONE PONY famous bar not Stoney point! Why your not on the boardwalk going through the convention hall is odd. You’re missing the best of Asbury Park
