- Fair Lawn, NJ is a suburb of NYC located about 20 miles from NYC. It is part of Bergen County in northern NJ. Radburn is a planned community which is within Fair Lawn and is connected by NJ Transit trains. Fair Lawn is also known for its delicious bagels, as made famous by my friend @HereBeBarr. I also visit his former home on Hillside Terrace, and visit the local park at Radburn.

I'm honored you put my hometown of Fair Lawn, NJ on the map again! Thanks for doing this.
It's my pleasure Jon! Glad Fair Lawn, NJ has a dedicated walk from me now! You hyped up the bagels here and it's true! Fair Lawn has some of the best bagels I've ever had
Thank you so much actionkid I was born and raised in that town. You were actually right around the corner from my house when you were on berdan ave my family house was just up the hill. And well all my friends, but my best friend lived up there by CVS. He walked right by his apartment. Again, thanks brother for bringing back a lot of childhood memories. I live in pocono mountains, Pennsylvania.
Radburn is cool, reminds me a little of Forest Hills Gardens in Queens.
It kind of does! It's a really nice thought out planned community.
Raised in Fair Lawn lived here for 60 years and I live behind the bagel store that you were talking about thank you for the post
This is an amazing place! You were like in some fairy tail. Thank you for this video, i really loved this town!
Being recognized from the 2nd floor window LOL! People are watching action kid!lol!
😂 It totally took me by surprise!
Beautiful neighborhood!!
Thanks for the tour. I lived in Fair Lawn from shortly after I was born in 1941 until I left for college in 1959. First on Orchard Street, just up from the High School, and then on Fair Lawn Ave., where the "new" library now stands.
Great schools! Nice quiet town! Enjoy
Thank you actionkid for this amazing walk in Fairlawn New Jersey! You just showed me my childhood and you even showed here be barr's house! I really appreciate you doing these type of videos! 🙂
You’re welcome! Glad I could show your childhood neighborhood, it was a nice place to visit
My favorite area was the pathways between the homes, I heard the birds sing so beautifully it is a peaceful area to live in.
I loved the pathways between the homes too!
So lovely!! I grew up in a tiny community ( an island) in Newfoundland Canada. I appreciate the small town charm. Thank you for this!
You’re welcome!
Mike O'Halloran proud FAIR lawn guy.

My grandma lives in fairlawn
Those gp40’s are still going strong for being in their 50’s
Hey ActionKid! Glad to see you are back (at least temporarily) in the NY Metro Area. If you find yourself up north in the sticks of Westchester anytime soon be sure to visit New Rochelle, the "Queen City of the Sound" and the place where I spent my earliest childhood years. The whole downtown core has sprouted up with mid-rise condos in the last half-decade and is quickly taken on a mini-manhattan vibe with all the new residential and retail development geared toward millennials/Gen. Zers who have been priced out of the City. Plus, there are several of bucolic neighborhoods nearby chock-full of homes that date to the first decades of the twentieth century and earlier along with quaint, well-maintained recreational areas like Hudson Park, Glen Island, and Davenport Park. New Roc is deserving of the ActionKid treatment!
6:20 What are the odds of a fan spotting you from the 2nd floor of her home! 🤩 19:45 Cool to see Jon's childhood home, and it looks nice and well maintained by the current owners. 😎 51:45 Good timing on catching the train. 1:06:50 This is a charming neighborhood with front door access to the park. 😍 I enjoyed the serene communities in Fair Lawn and all the brick architecture. Thank you for sharing this relaxing walk in New Jersey, AK! 🤗
It was such a nice community and I can see why many enjoy living here

Wonderful walk AK, as I am partial to the suburbs with brick and stone homes and a backyard for a beautiful vegetable garden. You don't realize how much you miss it till its gone, hence my living in florida.

Miss the live but enjoy watching , thanks AK, you are amazing
Ages ago, I used to work for a large photographic corporation and they had a photo lab on the NJ Rte. 208. I used to bring in the negatives from the dealers in the north Jersey area. I looked on Google maps and cannot find the lab. It was in the Radburn area on Pollitt Dr. I believe the building site was redeveloped into the Fair Lawn Promenade or the building directly behind the Promenade.
The Kodachrome lab! Long gone. Too bad.
Glad to see that you are famous, apparently!
Thank you for sharing video beautiful home 🏡 and enjoy safe walk great nice! ❣️❤️👍

Put the wires under the ground, why on earth you would keep them up there on the poles? :D Dont understand that kind of construction, wires are vulrenable to a storms. And why are those walkinglines so narrow, make it wide so there can walk and go with bikes
I lived here all my life Then I moved

How can this be a NYC anything if it’s in NJ. ???
It’s a NYC suburb
Parts of Northern NJ and even parts of CT are absolutely considered NYC suburbs. A significant part of the NYC metro population lives in these areas and commutes daily. They have ALWAYS been considered NYC suburbs. Maybe the confusion is in the fact that there are few other places where people typically commute to other states entirely, but that is the case in New York. Another example, even though it's not a state technically, is that most people who work in Washington DC commute from Maryland and Virginia, and a lot of towns in those states are still considered DC suburbs despite not being in DC.
It's a Commuter town of Newark,
:-)
Visit Teaneck NJ…..live in Arizona last 20 years
I should!
Thanks for the tour. I lived in Fair Lawn from shortly after I was born in 1941 until I left for college in 1959. First on Orchard Street, just up from the High School, and then on Fair Lawn Ave., where the "new" library now stands.
