Is 62% bands normal when fighting a severe infection?
If the patient had a severe bacterial infection, that high of band count would not be unusual.

If left shift occurs during bacterial infection ( pneumonia and ear infection at the same time), does that mean the immune system is in general not so strong?
That is a complicated question with not a specific answer. In general, I would not think so.

The cell types are actual cells from a CBC sample. You will just see a mix of those cells in the differential.
