    I found the man with the shovel to be the highlight of the film.

    I think that’s the best K II result I’ve seen. I did one many months ago and it was nearly blank… which is kind of the usual result I’ve seen on posts of K II film.

    Awesome footage Mike! Looked pretty good for that film. Always great to see these mini time machines of history! Thanks for your dedication and passion for Super 8! From the Boston area, or should I say BAHSTUN! and yeah we PARHK our CAHS in HAHVAD YARHD! That area is in the central part of MA.

    Fascinating results! You've probably mentioned this before, but what is your strategy for removing remjet from kodachrome?

    • @Filmboy24
      @Filmboy24  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks so much!! I always use a 1-1.5 liter prebath mix of Sodium Carbonate (4-6 TBSP) and Sodium Bicarbonate (1-1.5 TBSP), agitate, then my subsequent 2-3 fresh water rinses get as much as possible off. Then on to processing, followed by hand (or soft cloth) wiping the remainder of the remjet off in the light.

    Your "Found Film" series sounds fun, it's like archaeology but with portable time-capsules, you're a time-lord, wear a big scarf and use extraordinary verbose language, and you'll be away, one thing before I go, may I ask a question about scanning super8 film, overscan vs cropped, which is best?, should I just get the full image and do the cropping myself in a video editor? Not sure... anyway thank you.

      Thanks, it really is an adventure! I like to overscan just a tiny bit (then crop), unless I'm stabilizing the footage (using the sprocket hole). I'm not a fan of showing the perfs, like some do, I think it's distracting. Overscanning, then cropping is fine, but you will lose a little resolution when you do that. If you have no plans of stabilizing the frame line or keeping the perfs in your finished product, I'd do without the overscan.

    Nice work again. I have a couple Super 8 cartridges that came with my last batch of exposed film. I still have some old HC-110 left so what the heck. Glad to hear that new scanner is finally arriving. By the way, now that HC-110 seems to have gone the way of the Edsel, what would be your developer choice for the future?

    • @Filmboy24
      @Filmboy24  8 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks, Dale!! I use FPP’s version of HC-110 now. Same stuff, plentiful and cheaper!! filmphotographystore.com/collections/darkroom-supplies/products/darkroom-supplies-fpp-110-bw-developer-1-liter-kodak-hc-110-equivalent
