So you're one of the only people who showed the hose actually connecting to the vacuum hose as well. I've been looking for 4 months on where it should go. THANK YOU. I now have a fully working bov bc of you.
Hopefully you adjusted that to vent the excess pressure to atmosphere, in this video it’s not blowing any off, it’s surging into the compressor wheel. Sounds cool, but will harm the bearings and shaft if you daily this
the adapter and massive SSQV .. I couldn’t get a way to tighten the bolts so I used some Allen key bolts that I could use a ball head Allen key to tighnen at a 45* angle. A u-joint socket was too big. Any socket wouldn’t fit. Very tiny 10mm ratcheting wrench was the only tool for that and I didn’t have one
I think that valve spring needs to be adjusted. I just got an addw1 bov for my stinger and it comes with a paper about that. Thank you for the video though that helped a lot.
To answer your question, it should be as soft as possible. You only want to have it tight enough to keep it shut at idle, and close immediately when throttle gets applied. To answer the other person, the off throttle when not under load flutter isn't compressor surge that will damage the turbo. Stock these cars do indeed just flutter and it becomes more evident with the BOV. The under load flutter that is there may be an issue. Did you tighten the spring down at all? Try backing it all the way off, and see if the flutter goes away. You should just hear a single psssssssh.
Hey man, I just installed this on my 2020 veloster and mine barely flutters like that one does. Any idea on that i can try? i’ve tried tightening it and loosening it. I have the stock air box, would that cause the sound to not be the same? Thanks for the help
So what has the dealer said about your tunning and upgrades ? I heard they won’t void the warranty for oil catch can, for intake upgrades ….. thanks for the updates
@@SynergyMediaUSA where you buy it? The tips keep breaking and snapping so I’m getting super frustrated. Was literally watching while installing and was like how did he do it
Brother question!! I got the same one, but WHY after l put the ORing and the snap clip, I CAN rotate super easy with my hand the bov...is that normal?? Doesn't feel like a good solid SEAL....
hey so i recently finished installing the add w1 pro series blow off valve but it doesn't make the same sound as yours. it only goes "pssssh" sou not the "stu stu stu" sound
The snap ring that came with the HKS SSQV wouldn’t fly with the cheap pliers. I paid a dude at a shop $5 to do it. I’d have needed the $40 Snap ring pliers to actually bend the ring enough. The pliers broke (cheap ones)
So I’m about to install a set of these on my Stinger and I’ve seen some other vids and read some instructions and they mention removing the discharge funnel. Any idea why? Did you remove the one on your BOV at all?
I installed the same BOV on my Manual Veloster N because I watched this video and heard that sound. Mine sounds nothing like that. Instead of the sputtering which, I just have a simple blow of air. If I loosen it will it make it sputter more? Or is that something on your car that’s different

Exactly what i instantly thought. The turbo will die and this is exactly why manufacturers will void the warranty as soon as you install a BOV
I wonder if this contributed to his turbo dying lol
Did you have turbo flutter before the bov?

yea I got lucky with what I have.

how do you loosen this blow off valve?
@@mikeportela1076 just the bolt on the thread on top of the unit. It can be tightened down, or backed off.

Can’t tell if I’m hearing the intake turbo noise or the blow off
Nice! I'm loving the sound! I'm gonna put this one on my Stinger! Looks almost like my neighborhood! Lol!
I’m just buy a Veloster N 2022 and a Blow off Add W1, sound awesome!! Did you please send me the link of where do you buy that Intake Kit?
Thanks

well my car has not seen the dealership since the time I had to go in for the exhaust stuff.
Hey man on your Injen intake where did you get that little cone cuz i don't have one and its exposed
Does anyone know how to get the C ring on or whats a better tool to use for it???
I had to use that tool and haven’t found another that is better. It’s a PIA

I can too and I can rotate other BOV that I have tried too
hey so i recently finished installing the add w1 pro series blow off valve but it doesn't make the same sound as yours. it only goes "pssssh" sou not the "stu stu stu" sound
Because you installed yours correctly, his turbo is fluttering which will damage it eventually
This video is making me want to do the same setup! What was your setup during this video? Was it jusy the intake and BOV? Love your vids 🙏
Is that smaller filter on your intake tube where the bpv hose connected to the intake tube?

I had a fun time with this one. it almost broke on me.
how do you loosen the blow off valve? i see i can loosen the bolt but is there anything else to twist?
thanks for keeping up the n vids, much appreciated 👍

Is it bad to have it on a "harder" setting to get the flutter sound?
probably, that is the opposite of what a bov is supposed to do. the goal is to eliminate compressor surge, which is the fluttering sound.
Does anyone knows if this will fit the 2022 Kona N ??? 2.0 TC
sounds more like the intake with some compressor surge than the bov actually make any noise just sayin
The sound of the intake is louder than the bov in my case.
Ya I agree this sounds like bad compressor surge and it’s not venting properly.
@@calebmadsen1191 all Veloster Ns do that
@@calebmadsen1191 To fix you’ll need a Mac Valve Solenoid so it can control the boost for the bov!
What BOV you running on that stinger?

The sputter is a combo of the bov and the intake. They work together to make that sound.
@@SynergyMediaUSAwhat intake do you have?
Hey i recently bought this BOV, how long have you had it on your car? and did you face any problems?
Had it on the car for a while with no issues.
@@SynergyMediaUSA thanks for replying love your build, one of the best i've seen, keep making videos, the KDM car scene is only going to get bigger.
Have you had any problems from your upgrade? Thinking about buying a N but idk If I want to leave it stock
No problems at all
I got the same one for my N, how do you adjust between hard and soft? Can’t figure it out for the life of me lol
Mine gives a straight shot when it first blows off then switches to a flutter, is that normal?
@@SparkyCheeze48 yea, pretty normal on the N. The stock recirc does this too, you just can't hear it with stock intake tract.
Did you wrap your car? How do you gets that grey color?

What size adapter did you have to get for the veloster?
The kit i got came with everything
@@SynergyMediaUSA Interesting. I follow the link you provide, select the kit and it asks for an adapter size. I'll keep looking. Thanks!
