Not shallow by any means noise is one of the best parts of the whole driving experience... it’s the reason I bought most of the cars I’ve owned ... great video we need a lot more n videos out there... 👍
Awesome Video! Just bought the intake myself! Wonder how your intake is holding up with this hot weather, hopefully it's doing well! Will be watching this video again to install my aem intake :D!
Hey man, I have the I 30 N Performance and have the K&N cold air intake system and it is awesome! Doesn't have the filter box on the kit, only the heat shield, filter and the tube. Sounds as good as yours in the video! Highly reccomend it. Sounds great.
ShiftingLanes I’m actually getting a custom inlet for that AEM Intake! It’s going to really help bring the most efficiency to the intake! Check out @yames_designs on Instagram !
I couldn't agree with you more brother, the sound adds to the experience of a sports car that's why I choose the Veloster n over the Honda Civic type-r because the exhaust on the type R sounds like a vacuum cleaner it's got no personality. The more visceral the car the better that's why I choose a manual transmission over an automatic it's more driver-focused engaging and more fun overall. I can hardly wait to order my 2021 Veloster n with the new sport bucket seats that have an "N" that lights up going to be awesome hopefully it'll come with more power.
I bought a 2013 C300 a few years ago because I needed a reliable car for the next few years and was on a budget. I've only done one mod to it: the exhaust. It's not faster, and was never a fast car to begin with. But it sounds incredible, and because it sounds amazing and is a nice place to be, I love driving it every day. Looking to trade it in for one of these now. Interior downgrade, performance and warranty upgrade? Sounds good to me.
CarVibez what’s crazy is I always wanted a wrx lol. I’m waiting for dealers to open so I can take my friend for a test drive. He doesn’t really believe the hype. He currently drives an integra
Tj McCarty I was settled on a 2020 STI before I Test drove the Veloster N. Call me crazy but the Veloster impressed me more and felt extremely solid. Your buddy need to test drive the Veloster N before making that decision 😅
CarVibez my minds made up😂 they just keep hitting me with Hyundai jokes but I think a test drive will shut him up. Once he looked in to the numbers and power he became a little more interested
This video alone makes me want a Veloster N more. I was looking at a Golf R because I honestly can't get past how cheap the interior of the Veloster N, but seeing this video reminds me of why I would buy the N and why I would forget about the interior
@@ShiftingLanes I'm going to test drive one soon. Ive had a 2018 Elantra Sport for 2 years and I love it. Been impressed with Hyundai... I just want a little more, and I want to stay loyal to the underdog
Getting one installed today on an Acura tlx aspec, curious to hear what it sounds like, also getting a dyno tune with it, not sure how much I would hear because of modified exhaust.
Because of you I bought a 2020 VN in performance blue. I will be picking up this intake also. What wheels are you going with ? or ended up with ? Im looking at 19inch XXR 530's, want them to fit in the PZeros it comes with to save some cost.
Welcome to the family! There’s a new video on that! Subscribe to the channel for new updates. Wheels have been installed and a new mod is coming in a few!
Nice video! I have the aFe but you can’t hear the flutter like this intake because it’s a closed box intake :/ Where did you get those plastic retainers? :)
Hey what size plastic fasteners were those that you used if you don't mind my asking? I was planning to reuse the ones that came on my OEM air intake, but after fitting them they seemed loose on the AEM intake and when I went to remove them one of the plastic fasteners shot out and got lost down in the abyss of my engine bay, never to be seen again >_
I was going to go with the afe takeda intake but it doesn’t produce the sound this one does and is $80 more. While the aem air box isent perfect like the afe, with the addition of the velossa tech air ram it should keep it cool enough by forcing outside air into that area.
Hey what's happening I've purchased a 2020 Hyundai veloster turbocharged r spec will it be okay for my ride thanks a million for sharing your videos with me 😊❤
So I like the sound of this intake. I don't like the heat shield because it is open to heat soak much more than the AFE Momentum. Keep in mind the AFE momentum has a plug to let in air from the engine compartment and in turn it let's out more sound than the stock box. This will produce more of a sucking sound but not nearly as much blow off fluttering as the intake in this video. The benefits to me is if it gets too hot on a summer day you can plug the box to stop heat soak and that's a serious option to have. All and all this intake and the AFE momentum are my favorites. Great video!
Thanks! Will have to see how it performs as the weather warms up and as I go on longer drives. I strongly considered the afe and may go to that in the future. We shall see
I just did this and I'm getting no turbo at all; triple checked and re-installed a second time. All three pipes are fine, coupler is tight. Can't figure this out..
@@ShiftingLanes You saw their sports car concept for 2021? It's looks like a mid engine but I don't mind if it's front engine since it's supposed to be rwd! I just wish hyundai would bring back the genesis coupe but rename it to tiburon. Hyundai needs a new rwd car!
I'm saving for a 2021 Voloster N and was wondering if it made the car much loader? I'm wanting to have a baby in the car and have my wife in the back putting the little one asleep. However I kinda want my cake a little and eat it to. Haha I want to do simple little tunes with out it effecting how load this pint sized beast gets. @@ShiftingLanesHi brother, I just got a DCT VN TODAY. I was looking around for a cold air intake. What would you prefer The Sxth element cplt air intake or the AEM cold air intake. I'm not sure if that Sxth element is as good/effective as the AEM
Tork Motorsports dyno'd the AEM intake on a bone stock car. Made an 18WHP gain. Im on the fence as well with this question. Do I buy an intake or do I buy a K&N filter and take the lid off of the stock air box and have the same sound and same power increases. So far, I haven't seen a before and after dyno with stock vs K&N in the stock box with the lid off.

Any ideas or suggestions as to what it could possibly be? Thanks in advance.
Nothing wrong with wanting a better sound experience! It's like having a music preference!
Looks good and sounds good!
What a perfect video. Shows what you need, instructions, sound showcase, and reasoning, all without filler. Cheers m8

I see you everywhere on Veloster videos haha
The quality of this video is amazing
THIS SOUNDS SO GOOD OMG
Thanks Seb! Reach out to Tatis Motorsports to grab one.
It was nice to have this list of tools you need to install at the beginning of the video
I never understood why people need a tool list for very basic mods. If you own a simple tool set, you’re pretty much able to do most work.
This sounds great. LOVE the intake.
I have the Forte GT and i believe the intake set up is identical. Hell of a install and review video. Much appreciated.
If you are going to try one you may want to try the one for the Veloster Turbo. Not the N.
@@DJMontePGH installed the AEM. I believe its the same exact one. Love the sound it provides and install took about an hour.

How does it perform in warmer weather/temps and longer drives?
Does this have a BOV?? Or just intake (sounds 🔥🔥🔥
There's no need to justify an intake on a turbo vehicle, it adds to the driving experience!

I've got a 2022 kona N. Will this cold air intake fit?
Only thing I wish is the tube be 4" instead of 3".
This mod compatible with non-N 2019+ Velosters?
Does this work for a regular Hyundai Elantra Limited 2022 btw *
Is this sound with an aftermarket blowoff valve or just the intake?
how many hp increase bro nice video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
could someone tell me if this is bad for the turbo? This happens because the excess air leaves through the turbo itself instead.
Did you get a tune after installing the intake? if so which one?
Did a bov block off plate is it ok on this car and will it ruin it?
Does it void the power train warranty?
What is a good air intake for the 2019 1.6 Veloster turbo?
How long of an extension did you use? 6" or 10"?
Does the 1.6t Veloster make the same flutter sound?
Would this intake fit a 19 veloster r spec?
