They sound so good. I had a Forge but when I got tuned it was dumping all my boost at low throttle (prolly when hovering around where vacuum goes to positive boost).. would hear psssssssssss as I slowly accelerate. Stab gas and it would be good and then hold 21psi). Later that day I bumped into a dude at a meet with an AV6 for $125 (500 miles on it) tossed the AV on and zero issues. Wish it sounded like that Forge tho when it was stock tune. Later on I find out i needed to tune the BOV. Duck that
Yeah thats interesting cuz forge site says that bov is made for i30/veloster n and it talks about how good it is, then it doesnt work lol. But i actually do love forge stuff they make good products. Their stuff is even on real race cars. But about the AV6, i love the design just not the sound, its a little too quiet for me kinda like the stock one.
@@revmatchproductions Hey man your car is amazing! So i have the 2018 Hyundai Elantra Sport and i wanted to get a BOV and a Solenoid as well.. However, I'm a total newbie and can't figure out all the parts and adapters i need... is there any way you could link me the right BOV with Adapter and the right Solenoid with everything to get it going? Please and thank you! then i can buy it and go to a garage and have them install it.. Greatly appreciate it
Nice! I will say, I have same adapter and BOV and mine does not rotate that easily (really have to put some force into it for mine). I doubt it is causing you any leaks or anything but you may want to take a flathead or something and make sure the snap ring is fully seated into the groove (I had to do that with mine and seems it is a common thing others have to do as well). I also can highly recommend the MAC solenoid paired with this setup.
The ring has a flat side and a slanted side, the flat side goes on the bottom. Its actually tight it just looks like that in the video. It should take force to rotate but not a crazy amount of force, if its that hard your ring may be upside down. It should also feel smooth when you rotate it when installed correctly, kind of like a rotated turbo kit
@@revmatchproductions Yeah, I made sure the ring was the right way (tapered on top). I just remember the install videos I watched said that even if the ring snaps in, make sure to go around and check that it is seated deep enough into groove to be safe. Before seating it in deeper it spun a little too easily for my liking. Anyway, keep going with the build! Looking great!
I been running an AV6 but when I dump at redline or at full boost it is a choppy release. Like compressor surge thru the BOV. Maybe spring not strong enough. Anyway.. said fuck it and ordered the best. HKS! Can’t wait to hear that clank sound it makes when it dumps!
Bro this channel is sick keep it up all other channels now days are garbage this is the content I need install and pulls you would think that’s not hard but damn this is the only channel that does it at least for the N
I definitely love the sound but im new to turbo cars. My biggest concern is that I have heard that the noise you hear from the flutter is compressor surge that might hurt the turbos longevity. I don't know if anyone might be able to speak on that in this specific scenario, but if it would be negligible, I would love to hook up my 2020 N with this BOV
1 year later from my first comment on this video, and I now have a 2022 N with this bov. Question: does your's also kind of start opening up and releasing constantly if you build too much boost or go a bit high in rpm's (not to red line)?
I have a 2021 VN DCT (stock) and I've been wanting for so long a better BOV sound. I wonder if that one will fit perfect on mine? Also I'm thinking on the AEM intake. Any suggestions on that?
You need to also buy the adapter for it to mount onto the charge pipe, a company called Torque Solution makes one. It says its for stinger 2.0 but its the same engine it works perfect.
Have you had any issues with this bov on your N currently looking to install this bov on my Elantra n so wondering how it’s been over the last few years for you
hey man i just had a question, about to place my order for this BOV soon, been watching many installation vids and looks really easy to install. however, i still don’t get where the vacuum hose runs to after you attach it to the BOV? where does the other end of the vacuum hose connect??
Is this adaptor the same for the i30N, I’m wanted to say yes as pretty much everything is is like for like the exact same? Also did you notice any extra lag in the turbo from venting it all to atmosphere rather then it recirculating?
Yes the Hks works on any of the 2.0t platforms, but you will need to order an adapter to fit. You can get one from Torq Motorsports. No lag just more sound
Want to put an hks but I’m afraid it’ll mess things up because it will no longer be recirculating back into the intake. Have you had any issues with the Bov?
Not at all, the Veloster N is a non MAF based car which means it has no air flow sensor before the turbo. This is good for tuners as you can go recirc or vent to atmosphere it doesnt really matter. If anything its more beneficial for the turbo to go with a bov like the hks. You will have almost no compressor surge which helps improve the life of the turbo, and always getting fresh external air when getting back on boost after a shift. I recommend you get one!
Hey i just bought a 2022 DCT veloster n and want to put the same hks blowoff valve you have in the video as its first mod. Is this bad for the car? Any other suggestions or recommendations?
No not at all, if anything its better by not recycling the used already hot air over again. Running a bov allows the turbo to always get fresh air from the atmosphere only, on and off throttle. Plus it sounds sweet and looks nice in the engine bay!
Im not sure the size but its the one thats on the stock bypass valve, it runs from the solenoid to the valve. The hoses that hks include are good but it slides off the bov with little force, even with the little clamp on there, so i just re used the stock one. Everything works perfect
I actually dont remember to be honest lol, just measure yours cause i think its slightly different size for each intake. Unless you have the Forge intake as well
So it doesnt have to be exact, but you want it to be tight. Mine was actually one size too small so i had to kinda stretch it on, thats why it has no clamp its on there really tight. Im pretty sure i bought the 25mm
They supply hoses with the bov but i used one of the stock ones cause theirs was slightly too large in diameter for the hose that runs to the solenoid.
A bov will let you hear the surge of air that is released when you shift or let off the gas pedal. Its mainly for sound but can also help for more proper and precise venting. The stock valve is okay but its all plastic, if you go aftermarket the build quality is just a lot better and will outlast the stock one. Also gives you the full turbo sounds you want when paired with an open intake!
@@revmatchproductions I do not have an open air box intake. The Afe takeda comes covers like the OEM. Will it still make the wooshing ? Or will it be more suppressed ?? Follow my IG @GreatBamDino
Its a little more quiet but you should still have the turbo surge noise when you let off at low boost with just an intake, the bov gives the loud whoosh for the push type or psshhuu if u get the Hks pull type, they work even on stock intakes
Its just a little rubber cap, measure it on your intake to make sure you get the right size. Mine was slightly too small but i was able to stretch it on and it worked even better since i dont have to put a clamp on it. Just google bypass valve cap

I dont remember tbh bro sorry, i just searched for hose cap or bypass valve cap and i found it. Make sure to measure the size before you purchase, but i believe its around 1 inch

tthe vn doesnt have enough boost to have any compression surge, the stock diverter valve already has "flutter"

Yes, that is normal. The HKS actually has two valves compared to most bov’s that only have. One is for low boost and one is for high boost
@@revmatchproductions Perfect. Thank you for clarifying

Mostly all of the bov’s out there will work on the N platforms. Aem is good, any intake will give you more turbo sound as well
hey man what did you use for the intake block off? theres a big hose from stock bov to intake right?
So all you need for this install is the 2.0 genesis bov from hks? Or do you need to buy the adapter and hose seperate?
You need to also buy the adapter for it to mount onto the charge pipe, a company called Torque Solution makes one. It says its for stinger 2.0 but its the same engine it works perfect.
Where did you get the plug cap for the intake?
Loving the sounds. Maybe not head mounted in the future?
What do u mean?
The way its facing?
Would it sound this good without air intake?
The purge will sound the same yes, but you wont hear the turbo with the stock intake unless you’re at wide open throttle with the windows down
