"I'm So Young" is one of the greatest Rock 'n Roll ballads of all time...I've always loved this song, and bought ir when it first came out. I was 14! Thanks for posting!
The late and great Leroy King lead singer of The Students was only 12 years old on this one unbelievable voice and talent. I play them all the time on my internet radio show Classic Soul and The Doowoop Hour me The Masterblaster.

I've been around since '47 and can swear that there was little or no doowop heard on the radio in the Vancouver area, certainly not this song. The distribution from the eastern U.S. coast was obviously very poor. So thank god for RUclips now.
As Little Richard would say, "I'm the originator, everyone else was the imitator". Well the Students and Schoolboys were also the originators of the real doo-wop sound. Great harmony, without any of new "tech", or autotune to make them sound good. Also no 35-to whatever amount of tracks you want to lay down. This is the original threads of 50's music as I remember it.
EVEN THOUGH I WAS BORN IN '59 I GREW UP LISTENING TO THESE GREAT SONGS I TRULY LOVE THE OLDIES BUT GOODIES THANKS FOR SHARING THIS TWO SONGS AND ESPECIALLY IN STEREO!! 😎👍
With all the racial divide today, I just want to say these groups just bless your heart and your soul. Wish there were still groups like that today in 2022
Sherri Orr, you are right. There are a very few people that still sing Doo wopp, not many though. I was privileged to see some of them in the eighties and nineties. It was fabulous. All the best, GOD bless and take care.
First heard “I’m So Young” in the movie “Cry Baby”; thought it was the Ronettes for a few seconds. They did record this song for their “Fabulous Ronettes” album, but this kid sounded so much like her it threw me for a bit. Of course Ronnie does cite Frankie Lymon as a major influence, so this is very much in that vein. A charming, wistful record. The Beach Boys do a nice version on their “Today” album.
Beautiful songs sounding nice in stereo mixes.

There were groups like these on every street corner in NY when I was growing up. THOSE WERE THE DAYS!
I remember the older boys singing down in the subway during the 50’s, in Brooklyn
Beautiful many. Thank you very much ❤❤❤
LeRoy King could have given Michael Jackson in his early days a serious run for the money. Great Singer! Enjoyed this!

This was called "race" music at the time and wasn't played everywhere. There may not even have been any stations in Canada playing it.
Before my time but I love it
Thank you Sonny, for posting these two great songs.

I know right. I loved how John Waters found these obscure songs and put them in his Movies. Ronnie Spector actually recorded this Song.
Great sound quality Sonny!

Heartfelt music.
Oh the memories.
Lesley Martin and The Schoolboys also pre-dated Frankie Lymon and The Teenagers!!!!
