  • Hey guys, so just before I went travelling, I swapped out my Inferno 72 for this Twin Tech Black Vulture 2, and it didn't disappoint. Unfortunately, due to plane flights and the risk of damaging the boards, I decided to sell it overseas, so I could make financial room for a quiver, hence why there is no surf footage in this review. It's technically a first impressions.

      Hey Thomye, filmed this review just before I went overseas. We had crazy weather in Australia last year around March- May, so was unable to get footage. Good board, but sold it overseas as I was sick of lugging around boards for a while.

      Thanks mate, never managed to get my hands on the RNF 96 so far, as I couldn’t find it in my size anywhere for cheaper. I’ll keep searching for one though for the future 👍

    Oh I like the shape of this, anything with a bit of width in the nose seems to speak to me. Look forward to seeing some waves on it and in depth review.

      Thanks Josh, unfortunately I had to sell this board overseas when I was travelling, as the planes were slowly but surely damaging it. I may do a follow up review if I manage to snag one cheap in the future 👍

    Hey Jake
    What did you like/dislike about the board?I have heard it’s one of the fastest boards in its hybrid category
    Keep up the good work mate,you’re a great communicator

      What I liked about the board, was it’s EPS twin tech construction, and how it could handle most wave ranges. Personally what I didn’t like, was the medium to low rocker sometimes caught for me, but I think In the PU construction, this wouldn’t be as much of an issue if that helps.

    Hey Bro, thanks for this video, what is your size compare to the size of the board? Did you ride it smaller than you?

    • @jakesboardreviews
      @jakesboardreviews  Год назад

      Hey mate, sorry for the late reply. This was a stock 5'7 at 28 Litres. This one was slightly too big for me. My shortboards are normally 5'10 27L, so I'd recommend you surf this board 3-4 inches smaller than your regular shortboard, depending on your level. I'd ride mine in a stock 5'6 next time if that helps.

    Got this board with the MRs fins can’t get off the thing now . When it gets chest to head punchy beach break gets squirrely what fins would you use for those conditions?

      The Chilli BV2 felt great with the MR’s for me on the local points. I would recommend when the waves get squirrelly to chuck in a set of Performers or Accelerators in a pc core. Any thruster set should go good though in those situations, are you riding a PU or EPS Twin Tech? Glad you’re stoked with it 👍

      @jakesboardreviews  11 месяцев назад

      Hey mate, I’m 69-70kg’s, and I would ride the 5’6 if I bought the board again. Depending on your skill level, I’d say your size range would be around the 5’8-5’9 range 👍

    How does it compare to the rocket wide?

    • @jakesboardreviews
      @jakesboardreviews  Год назад +1

      Compared to the Rocket Wide, the BV2 is able to handle slightly bigger waves due to its curve and rocker outline. The rocket wide is more specifically a small wave board from 1-4 ft waves. Also the BV2’s wide point is more forward, whilst the rocket wide’s point, is located in the centre if that helps 👍

      @jakesboardreviews  Год назад

      Hey Nate, here are my fin recommendations:
      1. FCS 2 Accelerator set (medium)
      2. FCS 2 MR 2+1 set PC (Twin+trailer)
      3. FCS 2 Performers or reactors (medium)

    bro where is the full review?

    • @jakesboardreviews
      @jakesboardreviews  Год назад

      Unfortunately I had to get rid of the board overseas, as every flight, they were damaging it, so it wasn’t worth bringing back to Australia. Hence why it’s a first impressions/ review. I’m happy to answer any further questions you may have about the board mate 👍
