I’m 47 year old Welsh guy living in Oslo, I’ve not skated for about 18 years. I’m getting a board this year and getting back on it, there’s some great parks and a few vert ramps in the city. My son is only two years old and I want to be that 50 year old dad curving round the parks with his boy 😂 I’ve found a lot of inspiration from these videos 🙌
sounds like it's about to happen! i couldnt imagine being able to skate with my dad, but thankfully we have golf lol. he will remember it forever, promise you
I am one of those dad's although I'm not quite 50. My 13yr and 8yr were butt boarding behind me 2yrs ago now they shred bowls with no fear every time we skate they have new learns as I am just excited to get up to the tiles in the bowl.
Awesome Mitchie! I can’t really power slide at all but I now have some transparent fundamental techniques that I can apply for a solid foundation when developing this skill. Love it thank you.
What I really enjoy about Mitchie’s approach to skating is that he values being light on the board, to be as close to gliding/floating/flying as possible while gaining just enough control on the board so it rides with you.
I'm sixty and back to skate 10y ago after 30y out, but, even know to do kickturns, these video bright my mind to the technique behind leaving a big gap to fill with training and improvements. Thank you
Thanks man, these are so helpful. I’m still trying to get that soft heel heavier power slide going. Tend to use my back foot to really push. Was trying to get the power slide to butt slide going the other day but for some reason kept getting spooked and kind of running out instead. Another amazing tip I learned from one of your other videos was the que to be in the ramp on the drop in. Can’t believe how much more speed I get doing it that way. That que in general has helped a lot ❤
Hey dude, i love ya Content. i do alot of Street-Skating but i would like to learn more about skating Vert. I do have 92A Cloud Wheels which are perfekt for the ruff Street Conditions in Germany but would you recommend a harder Version for the wheels for Vert?
Do you have a patreon? Your vert videos are amazing. I would like to support you I dont have much but if a few people give you a few dollars a month you might get something back for your work :)
@@Skateiq glad to hear! I hope theres a lot of vert! Vert makes me feel like im starting to skate again after skating 12 years already :D and it feels a bit like skating in slowmotion even tho its crazy fast haha
@@Stumpmakesstuff there is a lot of vert. we just uploaded 50 vert videos and even more for flatground. youre gonna be hyped. should be live within 48 hours
I'm not sure I understood. What was the point of pumping on the way up? Would it be even better to pump in both directions? Powerslides looked fun, what is wrong on putting too much weight on the toes while kickturning? Congrats to the student. I'd be terrified by this ramp.
He's teaching the student to be comfortable with weightlessness..hence the rear wheels becoming so light they slide without pushing on them. He also teaching the student to pump up and stand up and stall at the apex, not be crouching so much. This isn''t about speed. It's about control.if you pump up and then pump down immediately you cannot get the weightlessness required for the control exercise.
I don't even know why you would really teach that that should be kind of like second nature if you're having to teach me that they're naturally probably not going to be a good skater

Love these videos. Love to see the progression. You’re such an awesome teacher.
Love the IRL skating videos, makes more sense to my lazy mind
Not a lazy mind, you may just be a visual learner
Maybe. I think thats what skating is all about is just going out there and sending it@@yocoachfred9932
