    I had this exact same thing happen to me, it was 100% coconut dish soap in a loaf to cut into 3. I only dared wait an hour to cut because the outside was so hard but the inside was gooey like that, still in active gel.

    Do you think adding citric acid would help with soap scum?

      Thank you for taking the time to post! 💚 I have heard that citric acid helps with soap scum, although I've never tried it. We have very soft water here, so it hasn't been too much of a concern yet. If you try it, let me know how it performs!

      There are different safe usage rates for each essential oil. I would figure out which one you want to use and look up the safe usage. I generally don't use more than 5% in a recipe, even if safe usage is higher. Thank you for watching and happy soaping!
