- In this extreme winter van life episode I explore more of the Arctic in my Fiat Ducato camper conversion. Specifically the Lofoten Islands! It has some incredible scenery and there was a big surprise during the night...
The temperature dropped to -16° so it was a very cold night! Luckily my self built camper van is well insulated and prepped for winter van life.

I've had some luck in the arctic with soil heating cables wrapped around waste water pipes to prevent them from freezing. An alternative is to route a section of vent pipe from your heater. The key it to keep them clear - nothing in there = nothing to freeze, so your dump valve assembly is working against you. Any water that goes to the outside is going to equalise to the external temperature.
The whole point of my dump valves is they are winter ready. It has 3 modes

Wherever there's snow around, that means polar bears. My friend was physically assaulted by a polar bear back in 2021 when skiing in Aviemore, Scotland.
