1990 the golden years. That's when my collection started. I recently rebuilt them all during lockdown. Amazing memories to rebuild my 30 year old Lego. I'm lucky to still have my sets from my childhood.
As a kid I had; 3:00 8712 Technic Figures 8832 Roadster 8024 Universal Set 8044 Pneumatic Set 8835 Forklift I wasn't missing too much in the 90's and early 2000s, but around 2008 they started making some proper big, complex sets, so after nearly 20 years, I got back into technic. I bought; 17:07 8921 Dirtbike 8295 Telescopic Handler 8264 Hauler 8265 Front Loader 8048 Buggy By the way, your "coolness rating" is highly subjective. You gave some really cool sets some very lousy scores.
There is definitely some missing early sets, but cool to see a lot of my older sets ❤❤❤ Wow: I did not realize how bad the late 90’s Technic sets were!!!!
I came here to try and find an awesome set I got growing up in the 90s. I'm sure it was a 2 in 1 set and it had the 8735 lego motor system with it (or was designed around the motor) the primary model was a upright robot on tracks, it had a lot of moving parts. The 2nd model was some sort of tracked vehicle. This ring a bell with anyone? Likely late 90s model.
A little lego set i've had as a child has disappeared off the face of earth. It was a small semi truck that i think was a 2 in 1 and was mostly composed of black (the cabin), white (the bed) and grey, with a hint of red (the seats). I know it was real lego because i actually have it right now . . . in all it's pieces with no box or instructions. The pieces i know belonged to it are marked with lego so it's definitely a real lego set. It came in one of those little boxes that was about (a little more than 5") x (a little more than 5") with a depth of about 2 1/2" (which i got from measuring a box that looked similar.) I took it apart because i need pieces for my other bigger lego set and i didn't know about ordering new parts from lego yet so i completely disassembled it and now deeply regret it because now i don't have anything to give as an idea of what it looked like. I have scoured the internet for it and haven't had any luck so far. If anyone has any ideas what to do please reply.
@@catank22dagrate22 I don't think so. It was one of those very small sets for much younger children. It didn't even have steering. But could you send me the set number? I want to make sure you never know.
I'm an old git; some time after I stopped playing with them they got way too rounded and uninteresting for my taste. There are a few (especially pneumatic) I might have wanted if I could get for free, but so much hard pass.

Never get rid of them, no matter what your wife says
From 1977 to 1987 I had almost every model released.
OMG I had a good childhood.
I not
Why guy?
Me too !! I even forgot the most of them and now just by seeing i remember. I should get those lego boxes downstairs and start rebuilding.
16:56 , my first lego technic set... i was just three years old but still remember getting it... nostalgia 100
6:05 I still have the 8872 Forklift transporter and the original box at my parents after 30 years. I loved to play with it, great kit.

1995 Nighthawk #8412 @ 7:10
1995 Formula Flash #8440 @ 7:20
1996 Pneumatic Log Loader #8443 @ 8:10

12:42 Elon musk just made and extra large base pack and called it a cyber truck
iwe got that lego set and the cybertruck (not yet but soon)
I still have the 8044 from 1989 with box and everything
Really goes to show how expensive LEGO stuff has gotten over the past 20 years. Picking up a proper set for less than $50 is so difficult these days
@celery You say that like the marginal cost of every piece they're making has tripled or quadrupled
@@appleoftheground Lego used to also be expensive back then. The high end sets had something like 1000 pieces, nowadays they get to 3k+ easily.
cool list! The coolness rating is all over the place though and some of the rankings make no sense
8024, 8815, and 8820 I remember maybe had an extra little book for a unique car with pieces combined from those 3 sets
Lego 120270
@9:30 lmaooo that 9v motor was god XDDDD

I haven't seen many of these in almost 30 years. Getting the itch again...!

Best videos old memories
Technic minifigures had more articulation than normal minifigures. Too bad they retired.
The 70’s and 80’s sets had more bricks. Technic sets nowadays focus more on pins and rods.
I have several problems with that coolness rating...
tbh buggy motor deserves a lot more credit
Reeeealllly wanted 7:30 so badly as a kid...still do lol
2:56 The first official LEGO transformer!
wow technic got a bit weird from mid 90s to mid 00s, a few cool sets though
Great song!!!!!!!

Sian : hold my beer
It all started with a forklift
At what time is the land rover defender?
26:56 I have this set and it is AWESOME
Cool!
Ze zijn allemaal leuk
some were missing...already from the 80s......the auto-chassis with the rear motor and a tractor at least
I’m currently rebuilding set 850 for my father, it is almost finished
Show your dad the video of this dude that 3D printed a giant version, he'll go nuts 😂 ruclips.net/video/B9YkwZYtWTI/видео.html
27:28 first my corvette
i have this 1:01
Wow! That is a very old technic that's great
its from the 80’s
Henrik137 we can see that
25:11 completely invalid coolness rating, for $40 what more could you want than 4 wheel steering and a fully functional telescopic boom
Is it just me or they had great designs in 70s and after 1980 till 1984 some weak designer started the job..
42095 is awesome
Name music?
Stopped watching after the Air Tech Claw Rig got only 4 bricks on the coolness scale :-(
12:12 song?
Song: Flying High
Artist: FREDJI
