Mia Sara she played a great role in Ferris Bueller day off . She made you feel like she was really in love with Ferris Bueller . You can see it in here eye her action her emotions . she is a truly a great actress .
Seeing her here, reminds me of why the 80s were so awesome. People who journeyed through that magical decade as teens and twenty-somethings are the luckiest people who've ever lived.
My favorite scene between Ferris and Sloan is the "father" picking up the "daughter" in front of the school. Rooney's comment is hilarious. So that's how it is in that family.
Gosh...that was just awesome, Dave. Thanx for the update on Mia! I can't choose between "Legend" or "Ferris Bueller's Day off"...she was just so exceptional in both and indeed, displayed a wide array of talent in just those two movies. She definitely chose the most important path in life...being there for her Family. On behalf of your fans, Dave, I can say that none of us ever want you to quit what you are doing. You help bring life back to old memories, you update us to what the actors of those memories have done over the years and help to complete our collective "picture" of it all. Thank YOU for what you do. HOO-YAH & God Bless

Thanks so much for the update on her Dave. She really could have gone far. She was a good actress. I understand her leaving Hollywood. It is not easy. I wish her the best.
Wow, she still looks amazing. I just recently re-watched 'Timecop' a couple of nights ago [Not a great movie-but Mia was the only reason i watched it] Glad to know she's happy and doing well with her family. She was in 1995's 'Black Day Blue Night' and 1996's 'Undertow' as well. Y'know Dave i purposefully avoid all social media platforms because i don't find them the least bit interesting, but sometimes i regret that because i see all the stars and celebs like Mia that have postings there and how much i would love to communicate with them and share my thoughts on their classic films and let them know how much their movies meant to me, but i still just can't bring myself to joining. Thanks for the memories of Mia and letting us know how she's doing. as always, it is much appreciated.
Oh wow, great update on Mia. I always wonder what happened to her. So good to see her doing well. She was really a stunning beauty and still beautiful today😊❤
Good for her ! I'm glad she's happy & fulfilled. Ferris Buehler was her signature film I think it became a cult classic, One of the few I could see over and over, and still love.
Favorite Mia Sara role is still Harley Quinn. Mia played against type. That of the supportive girlfriend. She was brought in as a replacement for Sherylin Fenn, who played Harley in the unaired pilot, but didn’t seem to gel for whatever reason. Reshoots were made, and the rest was history. Would’ve liked Sheryl come back as the other Gotham Siren, Poison Ivy. What might’ve been…Still, Mia had her own interpretation throughout most of the Birds of Prey series and we were fortunate to have it!
Thought I'd bring up a Birds of Prey reference that isn't common knowledge. David Jannsen portrayed a radio station traffic reporter who got caught up in an escape from a robbery. The bad guys moved from ground transportation to a big helicopter and the pursuit continued in the air. Jannsen was a WW2 fighter pilot and was using a Hughes 500 in the job. The people who made the movie came up with some incredible flying between the two helicopters, including inside a hangar. At the climax, the baddies were trying to kill a detective and Jannsen rammed the other Bird, with the scene flashing to his fighter as he saved the man on the ground. I believe it was a TV movie. Definitely should be available on RUclips.
Sounds like she has made the best of mainly both worlds, where fame and family are both a great achievement. And in my universe family is of the greatest magnitude, so Mia I admire you so much for all you've accomplished and the decisions you've made. And in Ferris Bueller you were the intriguing actor who performed perfectly.
I liked her in "Queenie" , a late '80's miniseries that was a thinly disguised telling of the life of actress Merle Oberon, based on the book by relative Michael Korda. It also starred Kirk Douglas.

She’s aged very well. Still stunning. One of the first few times I saw Ferris Bueller was at a film night in High School in the late 80s not long after it came out.
Listening to her various interviews, Mia comes across as much more articulate, introspective, and intelligent than the average Hollywood star. I suppose her limited film career is merely a testament to the fact that she was simply too good for the industry.
Who didn't have a crush on her!? I still do. Lol, I'm watching ferris buellers day off right now and came across this video. I know she doesn't have to worry about money because she is married to Jim Henson's son, but we all want to see her in film or TV.
Considering what the guy that played the principal in Ferris Bueller is now famous for, I think she made the right decision to get her kids away from Hollywood.
little update on Mia, she will a role in the upcoming film "The Life of Chuck," which is based upon a Stephen King Novel titled: If it Bleeds. The Film stars Tom Hiddleston & Mark Hamill along with, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillian and the aforementioned Mia Sara. it's her first role in film or television since 2013. Directed and Produced by Mike Flanagan! The same man who wrote and directed Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor and so many other great horror shows & movies.
Hi Dave, thought I'd swing in and check it out... If you get the chance to see the director's cut of Legend, do so it's better than the theater version. I have both on DVD, I never saw that big of difference in DVD and Blu-ray to warrant the switch. VHS or Beta...lol
aka Jerry Gillespie. Loved her in Ferris Bueller. Another actor in that movie Alan Ruck who played Ferris friend Cameron also dropped out of sight around 2000. He was last in the TV show Spin City
I always think of the Prophecy of Achilles where he could stay and war against Troy and die young but have everlasting fame. Or he could leave, become a humble farmer, and be forgotten to history. Later on, when Odysseus meets him in the underworld, in spite of being King of the Dead, he regrets the choice he made.
I'm glad there was no sequel, but Sloane would've married Ferris, I'm sure of it! One of my fave moments is the reaction on her face when Principal Rooney is trying to console her as he leads her out of school for her Dad to pick her up!😄
