seems Jason Becker-ish @ 1:34 , those quantum leap arpeggios etc. You're a hell of a player, I can definitely get you some exposure Stephen via my Australian fan base. Throw me a message or comment if interested, I know people in your world as well, cheers
CrudeRow C'mon, it was very generic of what was happening 30 odd years ago, a lot of guitar mag exercises strung together, it lacked any kind of originality or soul.
@@pleasepermitmetospeakohgre1504 tasteful doesn't have to be innovative. also, i'm sure you drop really emotional, well thought-out solos when trying out a guitar, right?
Ummm so what planet did this guy materialize from? Just got into Thrailkill and his guest solo on the album is brain melting and I was wondering if his playing was legit
Some of the arpeggios he's playing in this and ideas in general came from Richie Kotzen's Rock chops I believe. Some parts sounded similar maybe it's just me. Hell of a player though.
Those black trems look so much better than those dark grey ones they keep put on everything. Ibanez use these more! And. Stop it with the ugly childish colors.
This has been done before in coolest and greatest way possible by Shrapnel Records artists as guitar masters of 80's. So? Let's be realistic, fair and honest. Stephen is extremely gifted for sure, but he isn't inventing anything new here. To be able in the same league of guitar titans, such as A. Holdsworth/S. Lane/J. Becker/W. Krantz/G. Howe/P. Metheny etc., there is a long, very long way to go. Superb technical playing for sure. Wish you a great success in your fruitful musical career.
He's pretty good, but nowhere near what it looked like he was doing in a sped up video that got posted with the recent "fake guitar" videos.Check out Jared Dines video on the subject,it's like twice this speed and people were defensive it was real because they said he played exactly the same in this NAMM video. Here you go starts at about 4 42 ruclips.net/video/5PbHPANpVVk/видео.html
tell that to the insanely progressive album he put out lmao. Of all the guitarists to say they arnt breaking new ground you may have actually chose the worst example.
He's playing someones guitar at NAMM for 4 minutes......what do you expect? It's like going to a guitar store, you just goof off and play whatever. This is still far more interesting thatn 95% of "shredders" now-a-days.
Jonathan Nyce it’s pretty typical for some nobody hack on RUclips to chime in with their contrarian opinion as if anyone in the world gives an iota of a shit about what they have to say about anything. Pretty much anytime I see something along the lines of “where’s the feel” instead of trying to explain why this stuff deserves attention imma hit em with the “okay boomer”
I disagree. I think this is a lot more interesting than most shredding people are doing these days. His note variations within pattern are different and fun. Also, he's playing someones random guitar at NAMM, he's gonna show his chops.....
Damn I forgot what I played here haha. Thanks for recording it :D
Don't mention it Stephen. It was a pleasure meeting you btw!
Every time a post pops up from you on IG it makes me want to stop whatever I'm doing and pick up my guitar. Thanks for the inspiration, my man.

To good
"a few notes"
When I tell my wife I'm just going to play games for "a few" more minutes, this video is my justification for taking 18 hours.
Lol 12
A few thousand notes maybe
Stephan Taranto is to 2019 what John Petrucci was for ‘93.
He’s setting bars this young in his career damn.
All the notes within a 5 mile radius
Been my new favorite guitar player since I found him:D
Loved him in the Helix Nebula. Need more of the Helix Nebula.
One of the most advanced guitar players I’ve seen...
This is the first time that I take notice of this guy. I'm now a fan, thanks for this video!
3:45 This is insane. I can’t believe a human’s reached that level.
1:35 was more impressive
@@bakedandsteaked mmm.... nah.
Most people can sweep pick.
3:45 is next level. Alternate picking over diminished sweeps...
Domino Jr., I slowed this down to make sure it was clean. It was. Holy crap.
You deserve to be touring and writing music with other titans like Andy James and Jason Richardson
That is actually some tasteful shredding.

Not sure but I think he played a little part of Ka$cade solo at 02:59
He did. I didn’t recognize it at first because it was in a different tuning. But you are right.
Ummm so what planet did this guy materialize from? Just got into Thrailkill and his guest solo on the album is brain melting and I was wondering if his playing was legit

a true virtuoso. a genius shredder.
That one guy just going "Holy shit dude" at 1:08 would probably be my reaction to seeing this guy play infront of me
Yeah that was me fangirling
3:02 animals as leaders lol
holy shit indeed !
holy shit dude!!! exactly my thoughts!
I will include less audible expletives in my NAMM 2022 vids. :)

Spoiler alert: not 'a few notes' at all
Dang. You ruined it for me with that spoiler. I totally thought he was just going to play 5 notes and walk away.
