@@bornonthebattlefront4883 people love these Hawk knives, but are they THAT good? Those other suggestions were what to get for less money, not the same money. For that money I would recommend Holt, Shiro, Rockstead, or maybe Herman. But I'm no expert, just going by what the experts say.

Just from my experience though, going from CJRB & QSP to WE and Kunwu
I figure that’s similar to going from Kershaw or Spyderco to these Hawks
Pretty close in price percentage wise
130-190$ for a US Kershaw
170-250$ for a Spyderco
700-900$ for a hawk
60-80$ for a CJRB or QSP or Petrified fish
300$ for a Kunwu
350-400$ for a WE

I like the clip design. My EDC’s usually find their clips being stretched a bit as my work pant pockets are thicker than my other pants. If I try to use my work knife in non work pants, the clip doesn’t hold as well. This design circumvents that issue. I like it

The Kershaw Induction (no longer in production) used the same lock. It's the best budget knife Kershaw has ever made.

The knife is very attractive with a unique action. That being said, I’ll go with Shirogorov at that price point. The folder looks very beefy for edc.

I believe the inlay materials called carboti best cf. A lot of custom makers use like using it lately.

I’ve been collecting knives for about 6 years now. And by now I have narrowed it down to USA made knives only. If it’s not made in America, I’m not interested. Or at the very least made anywhere else but China. I’m good on the chineesium. So instead of buying several knives around $100-$200 per year, I will just get 1 maybe 2 American knives even if they are $900.
To answer the hardening / heat treat question, Gavin stated in the comments section on his video that the M390 is treated to 62-63 HRC.

Then send the tool with the knife like the Shortcut, and they loctite the pivot from the factory so you don't have to adjust it.

So i base the price on a few things, one his colab knives with serge go for like 1100- 1300, his own knives are thousands with dead lock, knives he's done in the past have sold on secondary for more than original price. It's there first manual folder in Years aside from their utility blade, also it's a limited model im not sure how many which is likely to raise price on secondary if it's a low amount, either way I'd say yes I think it's worth it. It's unique and interesting only a few models have ever been created with this mechanism
I go to hawks website and can find zero informative about the talon and cant find a way to purchase one. I thought they dropped tonight.

How many chinese knives are in that collection then? That was my biggest regret in buying dozens and dozens of knives. I do not purchase knives made in china anymore, had to draw the line somewhere. I'd much rather pay extra money for it to go to the right people 😁
