I've heard of a bizarre theory that the regis symbolize the atomic bomb in WWII. All of them learn explosion at level 1, and they all learn hyper beam (destruction beam in Japanese) at level 89, August 9th was the day of the atomic bombing on Nagasaki. The sealed chamber is near Slateport City, which is based on Nagasaki. Snowpoint city' real world counterpart (Can't remember the name) has a giant statue as a memorial to the people who died in WWII. In the Sealed Chamber, words such as "We fear it, so we sealed it away" is found, which symbolize their fear for atomic bomb. Finally, they all have a fighting weakness, which represents their fear of war (fight).
I think regigias was like a protector for all living things and when humans began going to battle it moved the continents to prevent further fighting and death, it also created the Regis to be warriors against threats to life plus with it mono normal type it's only weakness is fighting, so it could be a being who just wanted the world to be peaceful
or protector to other legendary pokemon as well. maybe arceus create regigigas to guard against the other legendary that inhabit that region, so for example if groudon were to go on a rampage, regigigas would try to stop it or failing that he would tow the continent away from the destruction.
I believe that Regigigas is a sort of overseer for Earth like Zygarde. Why? He is an extension of Arceus. Arceus wants to stay out of humanity's reach, so he creates a vessel to watch and protect through. But Regigigas can't do it alone so he made the Regis. They only problem with my explanation is that Regigigas supposedly FIRST moved the continents and THEN created the trio, but it could be that the trio is in place to make sure that the earth does not erode away, because they seem to be based of elements that erode over time. What if Regigigas made them as an army because it feared Humanity's increasing greed and destruction of nature, and so felt it needed a way to protect nature against us.

This has historical parallels as when in Greek Mythology, Prometheus was punished by Zeus to be chained to a mountain for giving humanity the gift of fire and then earning their praise.

OH OH OH! I KNOW THE ANSWER!! Because GameFreak needed another legendary trio with a master of them created in the next gen like with the legendary birds and Lugia
This may be completely outlandish, but my headcanon is that Regigigas is an alien von Neumann machine: a machine that can create other machines given the materials at hand. Regigigas was an artificially intelligent robot created by an advanced alien race, who wanted to help create a new civilization as part of a planet-wide experiment. Regigigas arrived on the Pokemon world as the fight between Groudon and Kyogre came to an end, and used its immense power to shift the continents. Then it used its programming to create the other titans, in order to intervene in case of an extinction-level event. The titans are now dormant, but they will wake again if another extinction-level event threatens the experiment. I think it fits, especially given how calculated and mechanical the regis come across as. Besides, I think it's fitting that a machine as powerful as Regigigas would take a long time to fully start up all its systems, hence the 'Slow Start' ability.
Maybe Regigigas was creating troops in each region so if need be the region needs help, there is the trio to save the day. However the trainers and people who worshiped Regigigas and the trio knew that they're power was much too tremendous and so sealed them away, like you said. That's my take on it, But I'm pretty sure we're just overlooking things. Nice video Mr Buddy!
An army is very possible. It's very likely that we can get a Regi in every generation to come. Bring them all together and you have the army. Nice video!
I think the tales about regigigas moving continents is a way to say that is what arceus made him for. Kyogre and Groudon are for producing the land and sea, and regigigas was made to maintain them. He was hardwired by arceus to also create 3 assistants that would better allow him to control the geography and climate of the areas he is managing too. That would explain why each regigigas has made one of each other regi, as that is what arceus intended for him and that is all he needs to do his job.
But who was in charge of the "officer" Regigigas's? None other than the strongest of the Regis, no one has ever even caught it, it's said it is so powerful it couldn't even be contained in such a petty Poke Ball. The legendary ReggieFilsAime. The ReggieFilsAime rules all.
Aw I liked the Iron Giant theory... It would explain why he would also awaken to protect the village in Garantina and the Sky Warrior from the glacier (that scene was epic). They could just simply be protectors, maybe created or connected to Arceus seeing as Gigas shares some features with the god pokemon.
great theory! Hey can you do more theorys like this? maybe like why did lugia make the orignal bird trio or maybe a video ranking Pokrmon legendaries in there importance and one more, one about were xenreas and yvetal came in, like if they came before groudon and kyogre.
Groudon and kyogre came first. Lugia didnt make the bird trio it is just the master of them. And raikou entei and suicune are known as the legendary beasts
I think Regigigas made the Regi trio because the people depended on him so much, but he couldn't meet all their demands. He created the Regi trio to help him out with this. However, the ancient people thought these Regis were imposters, so they sealed them away. Afterwards, Regigigas saved the town once more, but was too tired to do anything else, so he turned to stone and rested.
Not too sure about your point on there being multiple Regis in every region. By that logic, there's multiples of the same Legendaries all across the world. That would mean there are multiple weather trios which doesn't make much sense to me. Cool theory anyway!
+The Algamist I see what you're saying, and I semi-agree with you. I do think it depends on what legendary we're talking about. For something like the Tao trio or Deoxys I'd agree that there's most likely only one, but in other cases I think there can be multiple of a legendary. For example, in a Hg/Ss event (The one where you go to the Sinjoh Ruins), you are able to see Arceus creating a new Dialga/Palkia/Giratina. Assuming that Hg/Ss takes place around the same time as D/P/Pt, that would mean that there would potentially be the D/P/Pt Creation trio, and whatever legendary Arceus created in Hg/Ss. I mean, this doesn't necessarily confirm that there are dozens of Giratinas or Dialgas roaming the world (lord help us if that ever happens), but I think this at the very least confirms that some legendary groups can have more than one of the same species. But i dunno, legendary Pokemon can be sort of confusing :s The Anime and all of it's "Legendaries can breed" nonsense sort of made me confused on how exactly legendary Pokemon work, lol.
+Mr Buddy Yeah multiple legendaries gets messy. I suppose I can boil it down to if you have multiple Regigigas then there is no Alpha for the army to be led by. If there was only 1 leader, in Snowpoint Temple, then why did he make equals of himself as well as lesser ones? The logic starts to fall apart rapidly.
We can think about one Regigigas moving around the areas to create more Regis. That's why you can find the trio in the other areas. The Regigigas we find could be the same. Like this we can explain why there wasn't a Regigigas in Hoenn, he was on another area creating the Regis trio. Pd: Soooo sorry about my poorly writen english.
0:38 Guys.....I want you to take a good long look...the dots on each of their faces spells out the word Hot...if you can't see that then why did u read this comment
I personally think Regigigas would win because he has some pretty god-like powers in my opinion, and that one of the things that he can do that ultimately defeats Thanos is that Regigigas tows continents only by using ropes, like what other superhero or supervillain has this power?, I say Regigigas can pick Thanos up like he is nothing but a string and slam him in to the ground leaving a massive crater. 😊😊😊😃😃😃
Regigigas moves continents, this creates mountains and deep crevaces, it would also create areas of volcanic activity due to shifting of tectonics plates.my personal theory is that the regi trio helped with the new terrains created. Regice could create glacial valleys, regirock could remove or install bedrocks and help shape landscapes. And registeel could shape or place the ores found in the lands made by regigigas. It has many loopholes but could probably be built upon by somebody. It would also explain why regigigas prevented the volcanic disaster as it felt personally responsible for the eruption had it been the pokemon responsible for the volcanos creation in the first place
Since there are more than one of certain legendaries, I'm guessing that 1 Regigigas didn't move the continents by it'self, it help from several other Regigigas's.
"Several"? Dude, there is only four Regigigas to be found in the franchise, and in the Pokédex, mande by Magikarp, of course, cuz' Magikarp is Live, says that just one Regigigas moved a continent.
Galaxy Wyrm fugde regialpha dont exist because he betrayed arceus and regialpha dont exist because arceus use jugdement on him then arceus realize that he kill her own pokemon
My theory is that regigigas is the First protector of the Lake Guardians but i think regigigas was feared because maybe the town or village found him being more powerfull than ever and sealed him, i think too that Regigigas decided to create the Regis because he wanted to protect other regions, because Hoenn doesnt have a pokemon to protect them, Rayquaza is only said to intervein against Groudon and Kyogre and unova has the Swords Of Justice, Kalos the Xerneas and Alola the Tapus and Solgaleo and cosmog
I think that maybe Regigigas was a guardian of Mew and created the trio to help. We see the trio around Mew and protecting the Tree of Life. It probably saves humans on occasion because Mew ordered it to.
My only problem with this is that there are a lot of pokemon that are one of a kind, and yet they can be caught in multiple regions. An example of this is the weather trio in HG/SS (Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza). I don't think Regigigas was sealed away at all. I think it''s still slowly building his army, placing its powerful soldiers at strategic points all over the planet. As to why it's doing it so late? I guess you can say that it just got a Slow Start.
Definitely. Dragons in Pokémon are typically depicted as the most powerful, destructive creatures in the series, and Regigigas wants to make one? Suspicious. Plus, the army now has some powerful attackers to go along with the defensive beasts
Here’s my theory on this, I believe Regigiggas was once fully one Pokemon, however, during an adventure in *galar* the dynamax Pokemon blasted Regiggigas into smaller titans of himself leaving some weakened ones, and some still standing strong, leaving only one with the original memory and know how on what originally happened, however, regiggas foresaw these events, and created smaller Regis with each of his powers indivually to one day hopefully sense the presence of parts of him scattered in different regions, and to fully unite him back however regiggas knew about the legend of the Crown Tundra, and decided to create soldiers for the king as he helped prosper the people’s land, and created two legendary Regis that were new, sometime after this, eternatus started to chaos havoc, which then would become the darkest day, Reguggas then knew that he was strong enough to weaken eternatus for eternity so the legendary sword and shield Pokemon could fully destroy him, The sons of the original legendary bird trio then came and teamed up to beat eternatus but were beaten leaving them almost killed, then regiggas turned all their weaknesses into strengths, by using his power to change the legendary birds powers, and help them in their new environment, also making them strong enough, as per this kind deed, Regiggas told them that he would be happy if the legendary bird trio would look after the king in the crown tundra, and so they did, regiggas also then gave them a present, tree, which would help them heal if they ever got hurt. Then, regiggas fought with eternatus at full strength, by doing this, most of eternatus’ energy scattered in galar, which resulted in dynamax, then just as eternatus was going to destroy regiggigas, regiggas, blasted eternatus, which weakened eternatus even more, but in return weakened regiggas, which then got blasted, and...well if u read this correctly, you know what happened.
Well, this is pretty good. plus, it explains why the anime has the Regis both as wild and Brandon's aces. However, I have another thing: The Regi trio are a fail-safe if gigas was defeated or sealed away. Plus, they're golems. If the summoner didn't remove a certain piece before a certain time, their minion would straight up kill them.
Personally, I have a different theory:Regigigas knows it must return to sleep every so often, and that it takes a very long time for it to wake up- even its Ability, Slow Start, ties into this as Regigigas "reawakening" from its petrified slumber. To boot, it takes epic amounts of energy to reawaken it when it does sleep, which somewhat explains why the Regi caves are generally devoid of items- until the modern era, we haven't had the sheer power to force the lesser Regis, let alone Master Gigas, from their power nap. So, it created the Regis, who don't nap as hard, to reawaken it in case things go horribly wrong.Essentially, each individual Regi is a semi-autonomous alarm clock, who can be made to lie in wait until disaster strikes, find Regigigas, awaken Regigigas, and then be ordered about by the superior mind of its master.
4:35 kinda is technically official because it made it into a Pokémon game as an eater egg in the background and even if it was just an Easter egg it was in an official game and was officially posted
Maybe Regigigas created them to fight against alien or outside Pokemon that threatened it's grounds. Or he created them to hold balance in the Earth and continents while Groudon, Kyogre and Rayquaza fought. One regi fights a legendary and maybe itself fought too? Anyway, great theory! ;D
For a guy who can casually move a continent, which put its power above Primal Groudon's, mind you, and at least on Mega Rayquaza's power level, create an army just to conquer Human seems redundant. Maybe it was trying to wage a war with other Legendaries, like the Weather Trio or the Yin Yang Trio. It saved Snowpoint City simply because it wanted Human to side with it in this war
I definitely agree that the regi trio were meant as soldiers for regigigas to command but to further go off that I figure that regirock was an alpha prototype that could be broken but still regenerate, regice was a beta prototype design of the possibilty in something unbreakable or meltable, and registeel was the final prototype not only gaining a bettere defensive material in steel but also being unmeltable and having a balence of stats between the two prior with typing that if needed could best the other two prototypes.
what i find more likely is that they sealed them away for their own protection while in a deep sleep they were obviously vulnerable and considering that a 10 year old is capable of capturing them, they just did not want the power of thier protectors falling under the control of someone els
I think the Regis were made to help balance elements...I think Regigigas, despite being so powerful, found that handling so much on its own was a bit too much, so it created the other regis to help out. Probably sounds stupid and there are lots of theories to counter mine but hey it's all in good fun. :D

That's my take on it, But I'm pretty sure we're just overlooking things. Nice video Mr Buddy!
This is so insightful! Thanks for the video! I'm glad I found this channel! Pokémon lore is so (surprisingly) immense!
Regigigas, able to move continents, after the first five turns are over. lol :)
An army is very possible. It's very likely that we can get a Regi in every generation to come. Bring them all together and you have the army.
Nice video!
It's funny that there is more than one Regigigas.
Yeah
I think the tales about regigigas moving continents is a way to say that is what arceus made him for. Kyogre and Groudon are for producing the land and sea, and regigigas was made to maintain them. He was hardwired by arceus to also create 3 assistants that would better allow him to control the geography and climate of the areas he is managing too. That would explain why each regigigas has made one of each other regi, as that is what arceus intended for him and that is all he needs to do his job.
Its alright all humans would need was a bunch for Fighting-type Pokemon.
another great video! love your theories and livestreams!
Arceus said "I want something to write about for the Weekly Godpaper. Wage war with the humans. I command thee!" And stomped off
Aw I liked the Iron Giant theory...
Jack Mcdig ho-oh made the dog trio....
+Cookiequestplays fun fact, they are not dogs
Finesse Father Well whatever lol thats how my brother rembered them when he played and pretty much everyone called them the dogs.
+The Algamist the point still stands as to why there is the same pokemon in the same timelines found in multiple parts of the world.
There's also a theory on multiple legendaries.
your editing skill is on fleek o-o *admires*
0:38 Guys.....I want you to take a good long look...the dots on each of their faces spells out the word Hot...if you can't see that then why did u read this comment
I read this comment because I read EVERY comment
😲
Who would win in a fight, Thanos or Regigigas?
I personally think Regigigas would win because he has some pretty god-like powers in my opinion, and that one of the things that he can do that ultimately defeats Thanos is that Regigigas tows continents only by using ropes, like what other superhero or supervillain has this power?, I say Regigigas can pick Thanos up like he is nothing but a string and slam him in to the ground leaving a massive crater. 😊😊😊😃😃😃
I though the Regis were created to represent the Stone Age, Ice Age, and Iron Age
Turn 5 my body is regi
1:57 did you see optimus prime in the right corner
Total war: Pokemon Regiwars
An army of titans?
I chose you, Hitmonchan!
I know people will hate me on this, but Regigigas' name reminds me of:
Reggie+Giygas=Regigigas.
Regice or regi-ice
Finally someone who spelled regICE right
I wanna see what teory you have with Regidrago and RegiElec
Since there are more than one of certain legendaries, I'm guessing that 1 Regigigas didn't move the continents by it'self, it help from several other Regigigas's.
"Several"? Dude, there is only four Regigigas to be found in the franchise, and in the Pokédex, mande by Magikarp, of course, cuz' Magikarp is Live, says that just one Regigigas moved a continent.
there should be more poketubers like you
this theory stuff is at least watchable and really interesting!
but no. let's players and tcg unboxers :O
Now I wanna see Regigigas vs Groudon
Maybe it saved snowpoint city cause it was apart of its turf. The volcano was threatening its territory.
you know regialpha created the regitrio and collosal rego right
i mean regi
You mean that thing that doesn't exist? The hell is a RegiAlpha?
Galaxy Wyrm yes your right regi alpha is the ultimate regi regigigas is not the creator of the regi trio regi alpha is vanished by betraying arceus
But RegiAlpha never existed in the first place. there is no RegiAlpha and never was a RegiAlpha. RegiAlpha is a fakemon made by fans.
That's not what I expected, but I'll keep watching to see where this goes.
I think that maybe Regigigas was a guardian of Mew and created the trio to help. We see the trio around Mew and protecting the Tree of Life. It probably saves humans on occasion because Mew ordered it to.
That basketball bit though so funny lol
I always imagine gigas' face to be his torso, with the colorful eyes
Me watching this after crown tundra
“I wish there were theory’s with ALL the Regis...”
To be honest I can see this theory being true now considering the new regies lore
Definitely. Dragons in Pokémon are typically depicted as the most powerful, destructive creatures in the series, and Regigigas wants to make one? Suspicious. Plus, the army now has some powerful attackers to go along with the defensive beasts
The basketball joke got me XD
I have regigigas as the card....... Happy :)
Now to figure out where the New Regi's came from in Sword and Shield
Best idea ever right here :)
Because he has slow start and sucks with it so he needs them to protect himself while he " gets it going " ...
I think that regigigas just wanted someone to help him pull the continents. Thats a lot of work
Next game - more Regis
Theory = the regi army
I like how Regigigas has the circles on his torso that are the same colors as Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. ^^
How is nobody noticing that it’s eyes are the same color as the Regi
I'd honestly LOVE a Pokemon game that primarily revolves around the Regis and their origin story.
Brown Link Sounds like a decent plot for a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game.
1:07
which is why it is level one when you face it XD
I believe that regigigas is the only thing that beats spongebob in the worlds biggest thigh gap.
Who's here after the new regis
Watching in 2020 now knowing that 2 new regis are comming into the frey
Well my minds blown to bits
Really interesting theory
I like your voice you also sound so confident too
1:56 my childhood in 2 words
Love these videos tbh
i always thought regigagas was lonely certainly among legendary pokemon he is unique so he created more liken to himself.
1:55-1:57 Registeel could be a Transformer considering its in game cry.
Did anyone see Optimus prime at the bottom right corner when he said “roll out”?
"Reality can be whatever I want"
Plus this theory would explain why regigigas sounds so different in the hoopa movie than the anime.
I think the Regis were made to help balance elements...I think Regigigas, despite being so powerful, found that handling so much on its own was a bit too much, so it created the other regis to help out.
Probably sounds stupid and there are lots of theories to counter mine but hey it's all in good fun. :D
