I hike in the Shawnee Forest all the time.. there are so many spectacular hidden gems, waterfalls, caves, crevice passages, balanced rocks, natural arches, and endless bluff lines across the whole Shawnee National Forest

I love visiting Cave in Rock and going to the ETown Restaurant in Elizabethtown every summer. Since I'm only an hour away, it's a pretty quick and easy getaway.

I did enjoy this short video. My wife and I visited the area earlier this year. I am from Northern Illinois and had never visited Garden of The Gods. Another good place to visit is Old Shawnee, which is essentially a ghost town. I have subscribed. Thanks and watch your steps!

As a resident of Southern Illinois I can tell you that it is the undiscovered beauty in the state. Despite what other youtuberers like Chris Harden think about the state with his hateful videos about the state, it is a not some kind of hellhole. It does have issues and he needs to find some other place to go like some nazi loving red state he seems to love so much
