Yea this on a motorcycle can be a bit eerie with steep hills on either side an no guard rail. Kinda feels like you are flying. Really cool way to experience it!!
Wow, this video is an absolute treasure trove of information for anyone planning a trip to Colorado! The narrator does an excellent job of highlighting some of the best things to do and must-visit destinations in the state. I particularly enjoyed the detailed descriptions of each location, like Skyline Drive with its hair-raising views and the Glenwood Springs Caves with their magical formations. As a viewer, I appreciate the personal touch and local insights shared by the narrator. This video has definitely inspired me to add these incredible places to my own bucket list. I can't wait to explore the wonders of Colorado!
I was able to visit Skyline Drive, Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Grand Canyon, tundra in Colorado Springs and 180km stretch os Adpen trees. And different caves...So beautiful
Oh, great additions. Yes, the Great Sand Dunes is on our list this year (although Ryan has been before as a kid). And we visit Old Colorado City often. We like the shops and the food is delicious!
colorado’s bucket list items are as follows (in this natives opinion) trail ridge road in Rocky Mountain National Park, mesa verde national park, a concert of your choice at red rocks, and of course you cant not stop for food and beer along the way, frankly, drinking and eating after a hike is what we’re best at!
Great suggestions! We will try to add some of these to part two of this video. We agree that drinking and eating and hiking are some of the best things to do in the state.
My family are going to see Duran Duran at Red Rocks, which as since turned into a week long trip for my childs 16th birthday in Colorado. I am not even stressed about "great seats" for the concert, the venue is so spectacular, all the seats are amazing. :)
I love to live in the mountains surrounded by pine trees.. nice and cool all year round along with trees in a nice wooden house with windows. Dream for me .. Colorado is beautiful.
Loved Garden of the Gods! I saw it a few years ago while visiting my brother in Colorado Springs. I lived for 9 years on the Western Slope in Gunnison, Colorado. So I would add the Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park to your list. When I lived in Gunnison, it was not yet a national park. Just a state park, I think. It is not as wide as the Grand Canyon, but it is deeper. When reading the railroad history section of book The Gunnison Country, it is unbelievable how a railway was built in the canyon in, I believe, the 1800s.
While it is hard to distill all the things to do in Colorado down to 5 I think Rocky Mountain, Mesa Verde, and Great Sand Dunes National Parks should have been included. There are probably several dozen places and sites in the state that would be considered world class.

Yes, we agree! We actually have an entire video dedicated to the Royal Gorge Train Ride: ruclips.net/video/UAIuJtL_B0s/видео.html It's very pretty destination!
As a 63 yr old native of CO there is so much to see and do in CO, a few other places that come to my mind is OURAY CO, stunningly beautiful & famous for its natural hot springs, access Ouray driving the treacherous, and beautiful mountain road known as the Million Dollar Hwy, U.S. Route 550, one of the most dangerous roads in America due to its narrow lanes, hairpin turns, and steep cliffs. GRAND LAKE CO another beautiful place to visit that has two both Shadow Mountain Lake and Grand Lake which is the largest and deepest natural lake in CO from Grand Lake you can travel onto Estes Park CO on Trail Ridge Road (Hwy 34) in Rocky Mountain National Park, Trail Ridge is slightly more than 12,100 ft in elevation which takes you into Estes Park famous for the Stanley Hotel 👻
There is so much to see in Colorado, but I get a little afraid of heights. I went up to Pike's Peak on the train ride. It was amazing with all the views, but when I was at the summit and looked down I was getting a little anxious. I also went to Rocky Mountain National Park in Estes Park. That was cool because I like nature. I saw a lot of animals such as the elk herds, the wild goats, beavers building a dam on a creek, and a fox running across a field. Those goats are amazing. I saw them climb right up a cliff face and I was wondering how on earth can they do that so easily. Oh! And in Rocky Mountain National Park there a few ponds (lakes?) where there are fishermen trying to catch something.
Damn shame to let irrational fear keep you from enjoying life. Keep pushing that irrational fear and it’ll go away with time. Worst thing to do with irrational fear is to give in to it. There is healthy fear where when you see a grizzly you should def be afraid. Then there is fear where most people would say there is no risk or danger. That’s the fear I’m talking about. Where you know you shouldn’t be afraid but you are. Used to be terrible getting on a roof. Did it anyway enough times and now it’s easy. Just push a little farther each time. Next step is skydiving (ugh now that’s terrifying).
Thank you so much for this video. You hear all about the national parks and the big cities everywhere but I think 4 of the 5 things you mentioned, I've never known about till now. Also, thank you for mentioning a couple of family friendly spots to visit as well.
I remember when you used to be able to drive yourself across Royal Gorge and still have the pictures of it. I the cog rail from bottom to top still there? no mention of it on here.
During the pandemic they allowed people to take their cars and drive across the bridge again! But it was a limited time thing, now the only way is to go on a Colorado Jeep Tour. Yes, actually they do still have the cog railway at the bottom it's called the Royal Gorge Route Railroad if anyone wants to check it out. It can be expensive depending on what time of year or type of seating you purchase.

Yes, absolutely! You can plan a road trip through the state and get anywhere within about 6 hours. So if you start in one spot and travel over a week it's definitely doable with plenty of time to see the sights! :)
Bishops Castle is a must . Fantom canyon is also awesome. box canyon in ouray Colorado, the wet mountains , & the sand dunes in San Isabella national Forest. non of these suggestions you didn't even mention. If you want to learn about things to do in Colorado ask a native Colorado resident , someone who knows the places off the beatin path, the places that few either know about or go . their is so much more that could be mentioned, the best places are found stumbling upon them , my girlfriend used to point the vehicle in a certain direction & see where the journey took us .
All great suggestions! Bishop's Castle is for sure worth the trip as it's an experience. You try to explain it to people and they just don't get it. You need to go there.
Alpine Tunnel Road in Colorado is a two way road and super scary with a deep and steep drop off. I drove it with my family as passengers. I lived in the mountains of Colorado for 9 years as a young adult and have been on some scary narrow dirt roads there. Skyline Drive looked rather scary until he said it was a one way road. Then it seemed normal.😅
Thank you so much for this video! Hello visitors, welcome to visit Canon City in Royal Gorge area. You can stay at Mountain View RV Resort, which is conveniently located between Skyline Drive on the east and the Royal Gorge Bridge Park with many beautiful hiking biking trails on the west. You will find in this resort some great RV sites, cabins, a camp store, clean shower & laundry facility , and also a playground as well. The owner and employees are quite nice and helpful. Within a mile of this RV resort, You can also find several restaurants and services like helicopter tour, zip-line tour, whitewater rafting etc. Highly recommend.
Very cool! Colorado is on my fave list of states to hang at💜I dunno how I missed the hog back trail on the skyline drive, I stayed near Canon city 💜 super cool caves I haven’t checked out. The others I’ve seen. Are you guys fulltime travelers? Or do you have a home base?
Oh yes, Skyline Drive is a must see if you're near Canon City again! We live in Colorado Springs which is our home base. And we do a lot of traveling around the state from there. :) Thanks for watching!
Hellllooooo from Ouray! What a great list; thank you for sharing it! The main item that I wasn't aware of is the Skyline Drive by Canon City. We have a trip to Colorado Springs in about 3 weeks. Instead of the South Park way, we will take the Arkansas River way and incorporate this small detour. Safe travels!!
If you like skyline Drive, be sure to check out the million Dollar highway. If you like that, rent a jeep and go try black bear pass. I guarantee you you’ll reach your level of thrills somewhere along that continuum.
I think you’re talking about the lazy river at the Hot Springs pool in Glenwood Springs. This one is amazing for a family while Iron Mountain hot springs is more romantic for couples.

@@HashtagColoradoLife ha ha, yeah good point. There’s so much to see. This is a good list, BTW. Not the super obvious ones. Well the Royal Gorge is a bit of a tourist trap, the way they have it set up, but it’s impressive enough to make it worth it.

Right, they generally do not allow vehicles across the bridge anymore except for special occasions, like the holidays. Or unless you book a Jeep tour or something.
It’s amazing to me how many people can be assholes in the comment section. It’s like some of you people just sit around waiting for a chance to be keyboard warriors. This was a great list, thanks for posting!
Thanks, Kyle! We put a lot of work into our videos and as someone who was born and raised here it's sad that there are so many locals who are rude to newcomers. Not all of us are like that!
Planning a CO trip this summer and just added a couple things on the to-do list.... thanks!! Also, where is the lazy river tubing that is part of the intro?
Ignore this video. Do some research online. The picture they show to lure you to this video is Uncompahgre Pk, the 6th highest point in CO and is a beautiful hike. Bucket list? I guarantee the things shown on this video are near the bottom of any experienced CO travelers bucket list.
Mmmm that would have been a good addition to this last. Bishop Castle is pretty wild when you look around at everything. The architecture is like Dr Seuss came to life haha.
All of them. Every seasons in CO is known for something. If you want to enjoy some snow and maybe do a bit of skiing, winter. If you want to hike without worry for bad weather, july-sept. All seasons are worth visiting CO tho!
Thanks for the info and based on these places to visit which airport should I consider landing for a closer and more convenient experience? I’m looking forward to traveling there in the spring next year!
@@devilsmaycry9877 Denver International Airport is likely the most convenient and cheapest airport due to having so many flights come in and out every day. The region airports, like Colorado Springs, will be easier if you are visiting those cities but cost a bit more time and money (with layovers in Denver anyway). Hope this helps!
Being a Colorado Native my "Epic Things to Do in Colorado in 2023" list would have aprox. 35 - 40 items on it. For Example: Hiking/climbing: Devils Causeway, Manitou Springs Incline "Stairway To Heaven" or Longs Peak. Drive through Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, Will Rogers Shrine Of The Sun, and The Horns. Or Perhaps the Million Dollar Highway for a hot springs soak. 4X4ing to the towns of Marble and Chrystal and explore the Marble Mine or drive to the Victor Cripple Creek open pit gold mine overlook. Or Lands End Road on the Grand Mesa. If you like Geography travel to the 4 corners and try to find all 4 of the markers, The actual 4 corners marker has moved a bit as technology advanced with improved Geosynchronous Tech.*-)
Wow, these are such great bucket list ideas! Fantastic list, thanks so much for sharing. There are so many more we would love to add, but then it would be a 5-hour long video. :) Victor/Cripple Creek is a fav of ours, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, and several others you named as well. Thanks for watching!
In the summer it's always very busy, but if you visit in the off season, like fall or winter it's much less crowded. I hike there every month with a friend and it's also about avoiding the main paths to look for the less popular ones.
In some places in Colorado it has gotten very busy but there are still parts of the state that locals love and are less touristy. And there is plenty of room to enjoy the American dream in any part of the US!
Looks like a beautiful state but there are some super high crime rates. Colorado Springs sounds like one big crime riden 💩 hole. Honestly, the only thing I have heard about springs is terrible. Car theft alone up like 90% from '19-'21. No thanks, too many other less violent places in US.
45years in Colorado and never heard of skyline drive. Glenwood cavern adventure park same thing. Royal gore park is the biggest tourist trap. Not impressed with any of these bucket List items except Garden of the Gods

I really want to see most of the state in 7 days. Is this possible? Denver, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, Durango, Grand Junction, Aspen
Yes, absolutely! You can plan a road trip through the state and get anywhere within about 6 hours. So if you start in one spot and travel over a week it's definitely doable with plenty of time to see the sights! :)
@@HashtagColoradoLife thank you! I really want to see all the national parks and mountains
In Hawaii they would make Skyline drive go both directions
Very true! As someone who used to live in Hawaii I can agree with that.
If you’ve been over Skyline Drive you would understand that two-way traffic would be impossible 😊
wonderful
Thanks so much for watching!
Im going to Colorado tommorow.
How awesome! Got any fun plans? We hope you have a really fun trip and check out some of the places we mentioned in our video.
Visiting my uncle and cousin.
@@starrybeidou Awesome! Have a fun and safe trip.
The timezone changed lol. Im in it now.
Great destination tips! Thanks so much for sharing.
I already watched an ad before the video, don’t need one in the comments.
When you live in Canon city(1 mile away from skyline drive) and work at the royal goerge bridge🙂
The dream is being lived.
@@HashtagColoradoLife great! I have good friends in the Springs💜 that’s awesome
Yay! It's a great time of year to visit Colorado and Skyline Drive offers amazing views. We think you'll love it! Enjoy your trip. :)
If you like skyline Drive, be sure to check out the million Dollar highway. If you like that, rent a jeep and go try black bear pass. I guarantee you you’ll reach your level of thrills somewhere along that continuum.
Where and what is the water rapids float area you show near the beginning of the video?
The shot at 0:16 is the Colorado River in Glenwood Canyon
I think you’re talking about the lazy river at the Hot Springs pool in Glenwood Springs. This one is amazing for a family while Iron Mountain hot springs is more romantic for couples.
I. JUST. RETIRED. AND. NEVER. HAVE. HAD. TIME. SO. BETTER. CHECK. THIS. OUT. BEFORE. I. MOVE. OUT. OF. THE. STATE. DO. TO. RENT. INCREASE. !!!
Enjoy!
don't forget the pot shoppe!
Since half the states in the US now allow the sale of recreational marijuana, CO isn't the destination for weed like it used to be. Now pot is just kinda just another state in a line of others that allow it. 🤷
Mesa verdade
Garden of the gods
Hanging lake
Cave of the winds
Buffalo bills grave
Sand dunes
Estes park
Red rocks
Any 14er pass
Hot springs in many towns main one is glenwood springs
Navajo resivor
Royal gorge
Tiny town
Deckers (fishing and shooting)
Cheyenne mtn zoo
Stanley motel
A lot of things
That's a great list! Have you done all of these in Colorado?
I would pin @ccc3037 as their comment has many excellent destinations to visit in CO!
Why didn’t you mention the Great Sand Dunes National Park? Near there is the Colorado Gator Farm which families like.
If we were to mention everything in CO, this video would literally be never ending. Good suggestion tho.
You should have listed Bishop Castle in Rye Colorado
Yes, that would be a great place to visit. Maybe we can include it in part two. :)
OK, cool. It’s my last summer in Colorado after 31 years so I was looking for a list like this. I’ve already been to all these so I guess I can just stay home and pack. 😂😂😂
We're so glad we could help you make the most of your last summer in Colorado! If we listed all the places we recommend the video would prob be 3 hours long. :) Good luck.
@@HashtagColoradoLife ha ha, yeah good point. There’s so much to see. This is a good list, BTW. Not the super obvious ones. Well the Royal Gorge is a bit of a tourist trap, the way they have it set up, but it’s impressive enough to make it worth it.
@@cswalker21 We agree, this was our thoughts exactly. Thanks for watching!
Have you driven Independence pass to Aspen/Snowmass.?
@@judithlocke3094 Yep. 🙂One of my favorite drives.
❤
Hi how're you doing? I'm sorry to intrude on your profile. I am George Goddard. US Army🇺🇸 Commanding General But I‘m currently on assignment in US Peace Keeping Division in Ukraine, regards to the War.
I was on the news update when i came across your comment, i wanted to know the beautiful lady behind this wonderful profile,I couldn't let go, so i decided to message you, so we could be friends and know more about each other if you don't mind. It's that really you in that photo?
I drove across the Royal Gorge bridge in my personal car. It sounds like that is not allowed anymore.
Right, they generally do not allow vehicles across the bridge anymore except for special occasions, like the holidays. Or unless you book a Jeep tour or something.
And...for those brave enough: Pikes Peak!!
Yes, very true!
Hey can anyone tell me wheres the place at 0:20 ? Thanks
Yes, that is the lazy river at the Glenwood Hot Springs Resort & Lodge in Glenwood Springs, CO.
Not all of us are like that!
we can't help it if you are able to ignore all the painful and annoying things .
Planning a CO trip this summer and just added a couple things on the to-do list.... thanks!! Also, where is the lazy river tubing that is part of the intro?
That one is at Glenwood Springs.
Why are beautiful places like Otis and Clifton never mentioned in videos like this?
We'll have to do another video about the lesser-known beautiful towns in Colorado!
@@HashtagColoradoLife Otis and Clifton are some real gems!
Can you walk across the Royal Gorge Bridge for free? Or how much is it to cross?
Yes, you have to buy a ticket and the prices start around $30 per person for adults. You can purchase a ticket here: shorturl.at/uNP48
@@HashtagColoradoLife Thank you!
Ignore this video. Do some research online. The picture they show to lure you to this video is Uncompahgre Pk, the 6th highest point in CO and is a beautiful hike. Bucket list? I guarantee the things shown on this video are near the bottom of any experienced CO travelers bucket list.
To each their own. Feel free to make your own CO bucket list video! Would love to see some other suggestions
Rode the whole three miles...there ...Been There Done That!!! Never again!!!
It's was quite an experience I bet?!
I wanna live in this state. 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃
Yes!! Come on over and give it a try. :)
want to live in Denver Colorado
If you wanna see something really cool check out Bishops Castle in Rye Colorado. And Hopefully when u go u can meet me mr bishop him self. 👍👍
Mmmm that would have been a good addition to this last. Bishop Castle is pretty wild when you look around at everything. The architecture is like Dr Seuss came to life haha.
I LIVE IN COLORADO…. Did all of this stuff bruh
Yep, it's a good list to get started with. We'll probably do a part 2 sometime cause there are just so many things.
palmer park is a good place
Palmer Park IS a good place!
Would suck if you broke down on that skyline drive.
Yes, that is very true lol
What season should I consider be on to visit Colorado?
THE GOG is always overcrowded.
In the summer it's always very busy, but if you visit in the off season, like fall or winter it's much less crowded. I hike there every month with a friend and it's also about avoiding the main paths to look for the less popular ones.
2022 step move
How fun! Where are you planning to move to in the state?
@@HashtagColoradoLife maybe vail ..it’s so secluded up there
@@rayvibezzzz Yes, that is a great city as well. Not the cheapest place to live in Colorado but it's gorgeous with lots of things to do.
This doesn't even scratch the surface of things to do in Colo, maybe a part 2 would redeem you...
Colorado has so many things to do that are worth mentioning. It would probably take a 3 hour video to get through them all.
Colorado is very beautiful. Would not recommend moving here though. It's slowly turning into LA up here. Please just stick to Texas and Florida.
In some places in Colorado it has gotten very busy but there are still parts of the state that locals love and are less touristy. And there is plenty of room to enjoy the American dream in any part of the US!
Florida is the worst place to move. Wayyyy too crowded and constant hurricanes
I’ll pass
Texas and Florida!? NO Thanks! Don't want to be shot for no reason, I'd like to live a long life.
Nope! Florida is closed! We are alreasy trying to get these assholes to move back to new york
@@jcedeno0807 colorados violent crime stat is twice the national average
All tourist attractions! But that's OK keep the tourists where they belong, in the tourist traps ..
All of them? Nah.. not even a one.
Looks like a beautiful state but there are some super high crime rates. Colorado Springs sounds like one big crime riden 💩 hole. Honestly, the only thing I have heard about springs is terrible. Car theft alone up like 90% from '19-'21. No thanks, too many other less violent places in US.
It seems that crime rates are up all over the country unfortunately. Beautiful places draw lots of people, with different backgrounds and histories.
45years in Colorado and never heard of skyline drive. Glenwood cavern adventure park same thing. Royal gore park is the biggest tourist trap. Not impressed with any of these bucket List items except Garden of the Gods
Glad we were able to help you learn about some cool Colorado destinations at least. 👍
Mt Evans > Pikes Peak
Great suggestion! All of the mountains in CO are gorgeous and everyone has different favorites.
@@HashtagColoradoLife
While the road is in far worse shape above 12000 feet at Mt Evans, it gave it more of an "adventure" feel. Drove up both places in 3 day span.
Amazing! Thanks so much for the info.
I live in Colorado......I don't like created tourist sites.
Neither do we! This is why we started Hashtag Colorado Life as it's a resource for both natives to explore the state (who have lived here for years and years) as well as newcomers.
“Can be experienced by pretty much anything with wheels” Can’t take a Onewheel but a Barbie Jeep is fine. Pssh, haters, lol.
That sounds like someone just trying to be a buzzkillington. I've seen people skateboard, scooter and walk the trail. Onewheel I would think would be fine.
@@HashtagColoradoLife oh good coz that road looks suuuuuuuper fun to float down!
Huh? Why is leave not on the list?
Off the beaten path bucket list. Rocky Mountain NP is not listed, goober
We created two different bucket list videos. And our second one includes Rocky Mountain National Park! But thanks for watching. 👍
have done them all
I'm 65 now and i wouldn't give ya a nickel for anything in Colorado !
the state has been over run with idiots and arrogant asshats.
traffic is insanely slow and dangerous.
prices are outrageous.
nothing to see here, keep moving along.
Sounds like 98% of places I go. Whether in CO or otherwise.
shhhhh . . .ice lakes . .shhh
Perfect, hope ya all stick to these crowded, over priced, liberalized, areas and stay away from the real Colorado.
These are definitely popular tourists spots that make the top of the list for good reason.
@@HashtagColoradoLife Like I said before. Good, hope everyone takes your advice and stays away from the real Colorado.
@@elmerfudd7674 Of course, locals know all the hidden gems and less touristy locals. Gotta keep them our favorites for a reason!
That thing called Isak would be the last thing I'd want to see. WTF ??
This is just our list of ideas, thanks for watchingn
@@HashtagColoradoLife Thank you, great video.
Noooo us Natives would never share our favorite places because people come and ruin it and trash it out and over run it so then it's not enjoyable, quite, or peaceful...
I think people will ruin it for anyone regardless of where they are from. Some people are slobs and just don't care.
Beware of the evil kalan area
